It’s more than clear that these kind of configurations aren’t what one can expect from business class anymore. A seat like the Qsuite from Qatar for example is becoming the new standard for BC.
It’s a disgrace. Once I had an equipment change from A380 to 777. I refused to fly in my seat and changed for a later flight. I’m not paying $5,000 to sit in a premium economy seat.
As a mum who travels with children, (and a daughter who travels with two elderly parents who appreciate the assistance), I take exception to this comment. Emirates is a Middle Eastern, not North American airline and the larger families and culture of travel there differs from typical European carriers. Women also prefer to sit with our children. It isn’t only solo male travelers who should experience luxury travel. Emirates caters to their market, and if you think Emirates business class is “basically premium economy” I think you have never actually flown their business class.
@@Ad-Lo american airlines business class are trash compare to emirates In american airlines jet blue delta etc business class food and seats are premium economy In american airline u have no meal in business class
2-3-2 Emirates business class configuration is the worst (777-300ER). If you seat in a window seat, you will have to jump over the aisle seat to get to the toilet, worse when seats are in sleep mode.
Don't book Emirates Business Class unless it is on the A380. One of the reasons why Emirates has such a poor Business Class product on their 777s is so that they can use it as a way to stimulate sales of their First Class product. Also, these poor Business Class products are typically put on routes where there is a lot of VFR (Visiting Friends Relatives) traffic between Origin/Destination pairs such as Seattle/India.
I took an Emirates 777 from Dubai to Sydney (13+ hours) and also had a window seat. Your review is similar to my experience. I found the bed extremely uncomfortable - and I had to step over my neighbour twice to get to the bathroom (which wasn't easy). I will avoid this plane again if at all possible ...
The middle seat on old 777 business class isn't that bad if it's an airline that puts in decent partitions, but for the price you're paying it's pretty much unacceptable
Even I have been on the same exact flight from the exact same plane and it was quite disappointing and the privacy was below average but the food was quite decent and the crew was very nice and friendly.
I would think the only time the middle seat would be an acceptable option is if you were traveling with a child. The layout of the middle seats seems dubious at best. Thank goodness choosing your own seats online is par for the course nowadays. Otherwise, someone's going to be severely disappointed when presented with that 2-3-2 configuration upon boarding.
I am trying to learn the planes of the 777...... is this 777 EK096 ? Im looking into whatever that is . .and see a lot of reviews for 777-300R and don't know which is which or which is older... business class is so different from yours and the 300R ones .. so I am trying to figure out which 777 I would be on ... haha Great Review by the way! just have no one to ask - so have to ask you! and with you on the seating arrangement .. next full service they need to strip that and structure the seats like West Jets
The only time I voluntary took EKs B773 J was simply cause the price from Cape Town to Hong Kong only costed 2000 USD for 2 one way, which was crazy cheap. And then for the Dubai - Hong Kong leg we got upgraded to F on their A380 🤣
Thanks alot for heads up about that seat config. It turns out its the standard we get when flying out of Oslo to Dubai. No thanks, not untill seating situation is improved.
i booked this exact flight thru one of your previous aeroplan videos - before aeroplan increased the cost! thank you so much. do you know if they offer pay-to-upgrade to first class even though I booked throught aeroplan points?
The BC on the Saigon to Dubai had seats with on arm rest at near shoulder height and the other at near waist height. The layout is coffin like with no room to turn on my side as I sleep. So happy to be on an A380 for the leg to London/Birmingham and the only reason I fly Emirates.
Just looked at the price for upcoming March $8500 CAD and wi-fi is extra. Economy which is me $1700 CAD Canadian dollars. Im in Montreal so prefer to see how weak our dollar is.
Thank you for the video. How hard or easy is it to cross over the other person when you go to the restroom. I am taking 777 business class in May overnight from Dubai to Malaysia. I don't know if I should choose window or aisle. I drink a lot of water so I will have to leave the seat often during the flight.
Not to mention Emirates increased their Business Class by over $1,000 to $2,000 more than other competitors that offer BETTER and a more PRIVATE setup.
I was fortunate when I flew to Dubai for the New Years, in December 777 was changed out to the A380 from Houston. I had seen other reviews about the 777 seat configuration, and most did not like it. Not sure why Emirates uses the 777 for such long flight or have this configuration. The worse part is that the Seattle flight cost the same as the Houston or LAX flight. Less comfort from the A380 at the same price.
@IronHorseGladiator I have only flown once with Emirates, business class to Dubai and 1st class back to Houston, talk about passenger comfort. I can't fly the US domestic airlines and not be comparing them to Emirates. United 1st class is barely economy plus on Emirates. United now Flys to Dubai from Newark, cost about the same for business class seats. I would not fly United to Dubai, less service. I guess to each their own but I will say I loved the flight on the A380.
Thank you for the reply, i know your swamped with life and such. I am appreciative of your time, this helps make the decision better as I have a LAX>DOHA>Manila next week
Fair point @RickyZhang. I would be disappointed also. Great video, regardless so keep doing your stuff. You deliver well and with class so…keep on being you. 🎉😊
Hey Ricky. I was lucky enough to hook two business class seats on the Emirates A380 from Toronto to Dubai with Aeroplan points based on your timely advice. Just wondering if that gives us lounge access in YYZ. Can't for the life of me find the answer on Google.
@@Zacattack9710 depends on the price of your Business Class seat. I booked a cheaper version of Emirates BC on their A380 from SFO to DBX to DEL that has some restrictions including no lounge access, no car service, and seat selection available only 48 hours before departure instead of at ticket purchase time. All in all, a good product with the better seats and the famous on-board cocktail lounge. I flew their 777 from DBX to DEL for only 2 hours so it wasn’t that bad. Could’ve been worse; like flying United.
I think we all know these are the old dated business class seat config. The new ones are much better. But it takes time to re-fit all their 777 to the new seats, plus they are probably going to retire some of these old planes. And they tend to use these dated planes on less importent routes like Dubai to Budapest or Dubai to Colombo.. I think you are being unfairly harsh. No, it is not as good a seat as the A380, but everyone knows that unless you have done no homework at all ; and that would be foolish when paying so much for the experience. For couples, the window seat pairs are great, service and food are the same as the A380. Middle seat is rubbish, but everyone knows that and so don't sit there; not difficult. It is still a great way to fly, and I think better than the same type of seat on Qatar Business flights. Do your homework is the motto.
These flight channels often wreak of male privilege. As a mum who travels with children, (and a daughter who travels with two elderly parents who appreciate the assistance), I take exception to the suggestion in comments that seats that accomodate larger families in collectivist cultures should only provide services for those from individualistic cultures.
