- Down near the QLD-NSW border lies Girraween National Park, a granite marvel. This overnight walk started and finished at the Bald Rock Creek day use area, and took me via Castle Rock, Turtle Rock, Mt Norman, a camp at Twin Peaks, the Underground Creek, and Dr Roberts Waterhole.
It was a hot and humid two days, but walking in mid January in Queensland is on me haha.

One would easily mistake this for Mt Cameron in Tassies north east
Haven't been up Cameron yet, but I have seen plenty of images of what the terrain is like. So I can definitely agree with that haha.
Another awesome trip. All that granite reminds me of Mt Amos. Great in the dry - sketchy AF when wet!
Was heaps of fun to explore! Plenty of water sources as well which I wasn't expecting. There were some very steep granite slabs I had to climb, including to get up to the camp, so it's a good thing there was no rain haha.
Fantastic Lucas. Love that area. At over 1000m I reckon it's as good a choice for January in Queensland as any. Enjoyed the ambient-sounds-only style that you chose for this one.
Thanks mate! Yeah I thought I'd try something a bit different with the editing and filming, I'm glad you enjoyed it 🙂
It's a good point you make about it being a good pic for QLD in January, but it was still quite warm for someone who's spent most of their life in Tasmania haha.
Nice! I love Girraween and Twin Peaks is a fantastic spot to spend the night. However, I almost didn’t recognise you without the blue shirt 🤣
Throw in the new hat and drink bottle, and one could call it a new era! 😉
It was a great campsite though, just a shame I woke up covered in sweat haha
