Easily the most overlooked and best ballad of the entire 2021 season. The sound and guard were magnificent! I look forward to more ballads like this from Crown.👌
I couldn’t agree more. I can’t stop listening to this. The harmonies, the tone, and layers are just magnificent. Klesh really knows how to arrange with emotion. I hope their ballad for this season is as good, or better. Heck, I wouldn’t mind if they just played this again. It deserves to be heard by the masses in a competitive year. And yes, the guard really embellished this piece with visual spender. Looking forward to the coming season and what Crown will offer.
Its just truly remarkable. Nothing else i can say. In the depressing spring and summer of 2020, my good friend Michael Boo (RIP) said not only would there be no DCI in 2020, but IF it came back in 2021 it would be in a different form and some corps might not make it through the pandemic. This was hard news to hear, but it turns out he was right....and wrong. 2021 was not a competitive year, but good music still was to be played and heard. The latest gut punch was the news that SCV would not be participating in 2023. I wonder if that is post pandemic after effects in play? That news was hard for me to take.
I have such an emotional attachment to this song for reasons unrelated. But this rendition is just incredible. It makes me cry like a baby every single time. Thank you, Crown.
I WAS perfectly at ease, relishing in this song - until the 3:14 mark - then I got sucker-punched in the...we'll...I'll leave it to the imagination...and a sudden and overwhelming need to cry washed over me at that chord change and resolution. Fantastic song, arrangement, ending and all the stock I've bought in Kleenex.
Man, that massive condensed form with all of the brass just playing at a nice piano, such incredible control and a beautiful tone. Brings me to tears every time too
This was beautifully played. You guys continue to make me proud. Matt I can't wait for the day you are enshrined in the DCI HOF. In my mind I'm going to Carolina. #Crownbrass 01-03 👑👑👑

So exposed, all the piano and pianissimo parts for the brass. Incredible job.
This performance is all about fine control and precision. It is a pleasure to watch, listen, and enjoy! My complements.
Beautiful
Man those baris are so thick in the beginning. Klesch knows how to voice better than anyone!
Fun fact. The Crown they are holding/ using during the show is the Crown the Guard ageouts in 2013 wore in retreat.

Been years since I’ve been keeping up with dci. Love 👑 always
The way they are able to master the lower dynamics is insane
