- Today I look at a New Old Stock (NOS) Orient SK (Sea King). I bought this Orient automatic watch from a seller in Thailand. It's a nice dive style watch, I wouldn't call it a dive watch as it only has 50 meters of water resistance. Still it's a pretty nice looking watch for the price, so get one while they are still available!

Love your watch videos.
Jesus Christ, this Orient sea king is amazing.
Top video mister. Thanks 🔝
Thank you for featuring Vietnamese channel in this video, the SK watch has been a cult status since 1970 in Vietnam
Do you find that when you wear this watch the inner bezel will move around just from contact with your wrist?
Cool piece!
Nice touch at the end with it in reverse. Caught me off guard ha
Great price for a vintage watch coming directly out of a time machine!.
Hello good afternoon, is it normal that the movable bezel of the watch leans forward towards the glass when I turn it upside down and then when I flip it it returns to normal? What can be the cause of this? Greetings thank you.
Follow up. I won two. A red and a green. I really wanted the green but thought I was not going to win the auction so bid on two. The Red was perfectly ok. Keeps time spot on. The Green was running a 1/2 fast every 3 or 4 hours. Crown stem also felt gritty. To the watch repair for a hefty price. I'll get it back in 6 to 8 weeks. I will know it works 100% when it returns and I have a SK to wear while I wait. NATO straps are coming for all my watches for comfort and adjust-ability.
Yeah, I got three. The orange one from the video, a purple one, and a black one. The orange stopped running recently, and the black one is running like 20 minutes fast per hour... probably magnetized. I do need to get them serviced, but we essentially have ONE watchmaker in town that would work on it, and I know it'll be minimally $200 each to service them. Well at least the purple one still runs well... 🙄
@@ReviewCrap Well I hate to hear that. If watch repair person can do not good I do get a full refund.
@@ReviewCrap I take these to my watch repair shop to confirm authenticity before the return time expires. I recommend that to all if you can get it done for a reasonable cost.
Good job on the video, nice respectable watch. T
Is the main crown a pull out or screw out
Hey, I bought one that's a 70s NOS, how do I find out what type of lume it's using.
I'm worried it's radium , anyone know?
Not only do old Orient watches have wacky designs, but they had some pretty funny names too.
Bro what size does the crystal? mine was crack and i dont know the exact diameter
The second hand is running backwards !!??
Wow... you guys don't give me a chance to add the cards with the links and stuff... used to be I would have several minutes before I got views. At any rate, the cards are now in place for those that wanted the links I mentioned.
Brother I bought one but don't keep good time for 24 hours
eu tambem tenho um sea king mas no brasil eles estao super valorisados
You sure love that grid shock.was that second hand going backwards.
Actually haven't worn it much lately, but it seems that the videos I picking to edit (all shot a couple months back) I was wearing it ALOT.
first! great video! keep up the good work!
How do you know it's a great video? You commented literally 10 seconds after I uploaded it! ;) Are you a time traveller? ;)
no, i am not a time traveller, but all your videos are great of course;) that's why
Thanks! :)
Great vid and wanted to know the sellers name please
Nice you got a winner here -- your Everlast was a loser! I got a Sea King too and I love it!
Thanks for the shoutout! The sunburst orange looks awesome in the sunshine! Someone else mentioned and I noticed it as well I was the second hand going backwards on yours? Or a trick of the camera? Great video as always!
Watchin' Almost every video, I run the footage backward just before the end credits. Surprised nobody noticed before...
I Review Crap! That’s funny! I’m surprised I never noticed!
Can u share link to watch?
why the second hands moving backward?
yep, date is in chinese. japanese watch likely made for Hong Kong / Taiwan/ SOuth east asian chinese market then
Sorry my friend you are mistaken, this is not Chinese it is Welsh, the country in which it was manufactured. Very popular choice for miners. My dad used to wear one while at the coal face in the mid 70's.
The fact of the matter is it's not the Sea King, it's actually the Super King. Hence the 50M WR...
It looks like it is the sea king with the dial of the super king. The super king has an asymetric case shape and this is not the watch presented in the video.
I've seen many of these and none with hands like that? Are those original style hands? Can anybody confirm that?
I stongly suspect this is a franken watch. Dial id taken from a super king.
How on earth do you use the weird bezel? The number on the bezel don’t make much sense.
As you go underwater the colors progressively disappear so you know how deep you are
Interesting, is this real? I must check this out. Thanx for video.
tesla color - tv from Czechoslovakia mid 80´ - nostalgia
Did I see the second hand moving backwards?
Saw the same, also seems to have an issue with the day setting button.
I can't find your ebay seller anywhere: can you help me? Even in private if possible. What about the movement?
His eBay handle is directormind
Here is his listing of the same watch...

This is obviously a Franken, the dial taken from a "super king" and put into the case of a sea king.
If authentic, you got a great deal, but beginning around 2018, vendors in Thailand were sending out a bunch of fakes, so beware folks. I'm very suspect of the one in this video. I have a 42mm in blue that I like a great deal and based on my research of the seller in Europe, his feedback, the watch itself, etc., I'm fairly sure mine is not fake, but not 100% sure. Still, these are very cool watches, but I suggest that you be very careful getting as much info as possible before you make a purchase, unless you can get one for
Yeah there is a question of authenticity these days. I assumed this was old stock from the 80's or 90's. Ah well.... I ended up buying three.... This orange one, a purple one, and a black one. The orange died a few months ago. The black one seems to be magnetized and running fast since I got it. The purple one seems to run fine still and I wear it on occasion.
very 👌 nice
I've ordered one but it doesn't have the pointy hands.
Yeah, there were many variants of this watch over the years..
Conpra un relogio orient de 3 chavis
Days in Chinese, yes.
Damn loosen your watches. Isn't it uncomfortable?
The dates are in Chinese
Could be Kanji characters - Chinese characters used in formal writing.
Caw Schwarzraben maybe... I've just never seen it on a normal Japanese dial before... However I'm pretty sure the normal Japanese dial is Kanji characters as well, as I don't recall these characters when I studied hirigana and katakana. I suppose I'll have to look it up... :)
it's chinese characters, definitely not kanji
keren
It’s Chinese character
Stop making videos about this watch and where they come from. I've lost two bids on Ebay to a guy that is trying to buy them all. It is the same guy and he is good at last minute "snipe" bidding.
Hmm... I ran into this same problem on two I was buying. I think mine was a shill bidder trying to up the price as something about the bidding strategy seemed off. Don't know why anyone wanted multiple of the same color for example... and he only bid on auctions that were below a certain price. I don't know why the seller just doesn't put a reserve price if he's hoping to reach a certain price instead of shill bidding. But, I can't really prove my theory.
@@ReviewCrap I found a "1970's" Omega. Saw the bid started at $30 (red flag), I caught it at $72. I bid after doing research of the pics of the internals. 1020 movement all markings correct for the period. After I bid it quickly moved to $450 and sold. I was outbid. Seller within a week had another one pristine and identical. And later another. I remember when counterfeits had cheap quartz movements and you could spot them easy. Not anymore. They are copying the internals to everything. Low end Jewelers could not spot them. It is crazy out there. I have no doubt shill bidding also is wide spread.
Chinese copy
The only crap here is this video....
Well, UA-cam is a big place, there's always something else you could watch...
