  • Talk about a whirlwind of emotions! The difference of days from practice to tournament days was absolutely WILD. I had to be really in tune, and let the fish talk to me and tell me where to find them. I'm so grateful for the opportunity that I have, to do what I love! I'm happy with my finish, and I'm excited for this season! It's gonna be a good one, so stay tuned!

Great informative video. I live in the area. I have fished the same areas that you fished for the past 25 years. You are right. When you find the bite, stay there. I have fished the canal that you ran several times. There is a lot of fish in those canals. The mouth of Cypress lake holds a lot of fish when the river is running. Anyway, glad you got a paycheck. My wife and I are your fans.

Great information E, all the things that run through your mind while fishing and the split decision you make with trying to win the tournament it's so amazing listening to you and how you make your adjustments it's great lessons for us. Really enjoy your break downs.

Fished Kissimmee last of Feb First of Mar. Best day was ten in boat, big 6-11, mostly two pounders. Water was high and windy, just about worst week there in 8 years fishing.

Congrats on becoming a G’pa ! I just became one for the first time myself 5 weeks ago. Appreciate your channel . Good luck this year. I lean toward a square bill crankbait when they’re staging when my stickbaits quit working or a swimbait. If those aren’t working I start throwing wacky rigs of various sizes and vary my speed. If that don’t work I go home and try a different day.

Great video man. You made a great choice by slowing down idk how many times I've caught my self trying to cover as much water as I can then realize I need to slow it down and BOOM them big boys start biting or you get more bites. And you handled losing that hoss at 10:20 way better then I would have lol

Living here in florida and only fishing florida the one thing I’ve learned the hard way - and confirmed by a buddy of mine who is a professional guide here and was on Fork for 15 years is that the bigger fish (5+ lbs) are almost never caught on moving baits. Florida strain F1 bass that are big are amazingly lazy and you really need to slow down to target them

I agree and disagree. Fish in Florida react to the weather faster then any other place. I’ve seen schools of 5 pounds or bigger going nuts then shut off immediately. Florida fish are anything but lazy. But when the weather changes it makes them lazy 3 biggest bass I saw caught are on a spook. Whopper plopper and spinner baits

The other thing about florida that people who don’t live here understand is how heavy your tackle needs to be to fish vegetation. My punching/flipping stick is a 7’11” ex heavy with 65lb braid
