      Probably so....dayum he smoked them. I did that once or twice. But on the red river out of Coushatta ,LA years ago in the jungle we caught fish every cast. Nothing massive. Average 1.5 to 3 pound on plum apple worm Texas rigged. about 400 or so fish between 3 os us in a few hours.

    This past spring I went way up a creek during a flood. I hooked 65 straight fish on a flooded road culvert. I stopped because the culvert kept me from going any farther. I ended up with 87 fish that I would say went a pound with some of them 2-3 pounds. I never moved the boat and caught them all in about 2 1/2 hours. The funny thing is when a buddy called and asked how the fishing was I said, "Let's put it this way, I would win any Major League Fishing event ever." I would be scared to guess how many pounds I had. Best day I've had in over 40 years of fishing bass. It does happen which is why I never stay at home no matter the conditions.
    Love this format.

    I've often told people that we are spoiled with this kind of fishery in our backyard. Just imagine if he got into a big school, I'm talking nothing smaller than 2lbs at least every other cast. As epic as this was. People have no idea what this body of water is capable of. Congrats brother, people here need to step up there game. I'm glade you guys are here to show what experienced anglers can do in a fishery like this.

    What amazes me most is the fact that depsite the hurry of the contest, Edwin takes time to release his fishes respectfully, meanwhile some angling youtubers throw their bass as if it was poop. Congrats from France Edwin, this is a very good example I showed to my 11' son.

    The Mississippi river is overlooked by many. You could fish 10 miles of it for a few yrs and probably not hit every hole in the stretch. So many logs, wing dams, backwaters, dam pools, structure changes, bends, holes and eddys. I love fishing it.

    Honey hole is an understatement. That's like a honey crater he's on. He's throwing different baits, different colors, different retrieves, doesn't matter. Question I have is this. Would you rather catch 75 fish in the 1-2.5lb range or 5 Giants. I'm not a great bass fisherman, I'm mainly a saltwater fisherman actually, so I'd love to catch 75 bass. However, Edwin has caught thousands, tens of thousands of 1-2.5lb bass in his career so I wonder what he'd say. MLF is fun to watch and I love it. However, something about a guy, say a 72 year old at the time named Rick Clunn, catching a massive limit coming back from 9lbs down on a final day is still just as exciting to me. It's great to have both, we are now spoiled!

    Everyone is telling their fishing story so I will join in. One day out of the 82 million times I have went fishing. I caught 200 bass. All 1.5 to 2.5 pounds. Nearly all on a crappie jig. A good day. Oh btw, that same crappie jig caught a 51lb catfish one night. It took a hour to get it in on 6lb test line. If you go enough you will have some good days.

    Believe it or not I fish dead parts of the bogochitto in Louisiana and the fish are so densely packed in those old parts of the river you can hook one it will jump and throw your lure when the lure land in the water another fish grabs it you cannot lay your pole down across the boat if your lure is dangling inches above water bass will jump and grab it .ive been casting in there and casted straight on a log I jerked the spinner bait it wiggled but was stuck and keeer splash a big 5 pounder jumped out the water and grabbed my bait off the log
    I’ve caught 200 bass in some of those sloughs or dead parts of bogochitto and stoped counting.
    It’s common to go there and catch several hundred bass non stop every cast .
    There is natural springs welling up in a lot of those old parts of the river

      where at precisely? im looking for spots in SE LA

    • @Suckmyjagon
      @Suckmyjagon 4 роки тому

      David
      Frankilton Louisiana their is a state park on the bogichitto River the spots I’m referring to can be seen on google earth in frankilton Louisiana they are old dead parts of the river
      The same thing is on the tangipahoa River in independence Louisiana some of the dead parts the River still over flows into them and when that happens be on the side where the water is flowing or dumping over and you will get tired of catching fish no shit you’ll have to leave them biting ..

    • @Suckmyjagon
      @Suckmyjagon 4 роки тому

      I’ve fished those two rivers my entire life and I will say I thought everyone caught fish like that but as I get older I realize what a gift the bogichitto river really is
      There are spots in enane on the bogichitto that have springs welling up from the bottom and it is still the cleanest river in Louisiana and to this day is safe to drink from .

    • @David-eh8rl
      @David-eh8rl 4 роки тому

      Brandon Blount awesome I basically live in independence. I have a 16ft boat I would like to take in there and fish. I see the dead parts of the river you are talking about on google earth. Are you getting a boat in there or are you fishing the bank? Thanks for your response

    • @Suckmyjagon
      @Suckmyjagon 4 роки тому

      David I’m packing a tube like you use for fly fishing.
      Some you can get a 10 foot flat too the lite ones
      Or sometimes I just wade them some are deep in spots but fairly shallow along the banks
      It’s more fishing along that bogichitto and tangipahoa river than in all of Louisiana
      And they full of bass and even better nobody fishes them to hard to get too

    Me and a bro of mine caught 100 plus in basically a ditch between the interstate. The water was falling and the bass were feeding. We were using black and pearl crankbaits by bandit. We started cramping too. The exact spot is in rahma louisiana. It's a small run out coming of the atchafalaya river north part of the basin. I didn't bring my go pros that day lol. I've actually had a few trips like that there in same area. No big fish. They were all 12 to 14 inches. It's still a blast!!
