Having just lost my Maltese mix in December and got a BT in March, I know how hard it is. I can't believe I'm going to go through it again, but here we are! Life is better with a dog!
I lost my larabeth last October had she made it 2 more months she woulda been 17.it about killed me she was my bestfreind an my life is so messed up with out her.i hate coming home after work cause larabis supposed to be their with her toy waiting on me .I said I'd never get another one but I get to thinking how the entire time I had her was best 17 years of my life with only 3 bad days.she was healthy till the end I new the day be4 she died she wasn't goina make it cause she didn't meet me at the door with a toy an she died the next nite.them two days sucked but the great times were 10 thousand to one over the 2 bad days so im giina get me a puppy very soon .I start crying when I think about my lil lara beth being gone.life definitely is not the same
My baby bullet left us last June 15,2023. I swear that was the worst day of my life. I love you so much Bullet! Youre always in my heart forever and always! You will never be forgotten
Ugh that's the worst. I lost my boxer to cancer. One more day and he would have been with me for 15 years. I didn't even want a dog when I got him but he became my best friend.
I have had my boston, Tessie, since I was 10. We both have March birthdays and this year I will be 22 and she will be 12. Honestly, Tessie is the best thing to ever happen to me. Whenever I think about how much I love this dog, it always brings me to tears because she has been with me through the formative years in my journey to becoming an adult. I couldn't ask for a better companion and first child. Bostons are truly the best dogs.
I am going to read your sweet comment to my husband. He and I miss our Boston. His name was Bailey. I agree with you, they are the best dogs in the world, and Bailey will always be in our hearts. It would be fun to share our stories of our special dogs. I’m so glad you have Tessie to enjoy and be comforted in your young life. I have a granddaughter just your age, and a younger one too, she is 16 years old. They remember Bailey well, our unforgettable companion. ❤
For baths, something that I found really helped was to fill the bathtub to where it touches their chest or the tops of the legs. My Boston hated having water poured over him. I think he really didn’t like the sound of the faucet. So, I filled the tub to about halfway full and put him in the tub once the water was turned off. He absolutely loved it! He was completely content and relaxed and he didn’t look worried at all.
They’re very sensitive. Ours hides when someone gets overly emotional (crying or shouting)... hates rain!!! Hates cold. Definitely wants to go with us everywhere. Tunnels under blankets to nap or sleep for the night.
Oh damn no kidding. Even when I’m bitching a little too loud to one of my friends on the phone, mine goes and hides🤣 I have to walk on eggshells when he’s around.
I started playing with my BT's feet & toes from day one, so he doesn't mind having his nails trimmed. He doesn't mind his baths either. He doesn't like rain, heat or cold, but I don't blame him! Most of the time he is a dream come true, but he can be a little monster at times too. LOL But he is my baby and I love him
My Boston is scared of his own farts. Most are silent but deadly, but when he lets off the occasional loud one, his eyes go wide and he will run away from his own butt and get as close to me as possible for a cuddle 😂 Love him so much!!
We had a Boston that, as a puppy, would squeal and lean back to inspect his backside when sitting on the dining room floor. We thought his leg might be hurt, or he was having hip issues, but in reality it was his farts vibrating against the wood floor that scared the heck out of him.
My Boston 4 year old takes showers with me once a week. She is not happy about it but excepts that she has to. Grudgingly, like a soldier, she walks In the shower without having to coaxing her. But she is so happy when she is clean and being held with a towel rapped around her. I tried to get her used to swimming on a really hot days, but to no avail.
We purchased a boston terrier 3 weeks ago, and we love her so much. We name her bella. She loves all kinds of toys. But her favorite toys is a mountain dew plastic bottle. She will play with it so much. She loves her leash too . She has double in size. When she bad, I call her bad bunny 🐰 happy dog and she loves to be near us. Such a blessing.
my boston loves snow it like energizes him. he is usually like a big fat lump on the ground but when its snowing he runs around and digs in it and loves it
My guy loves digging up the snow and chasing the sled down the hill. I think some Boston’s just live for fun and adventure and can tolerate a lot if they are having fun!
Our Boston hated when we went on vacation without him. We took him most of the time because he was such a good boy. But when those suitcases came out he would sit at the door till we opened it and then jump in the car and would not move. He would stay there for hours while packing the car.
For anyone that needs a trick for taking pup to potty in bad weather, the fake grass in a tray that you can buy through Amazon or wherever works amazing. I trained mine to use it when it rains and it’s very easy to spray off after.
Artificial Grass Bathroom Mat for Puppies and Small Pets- Portable Potty Trainer for Indoor and Outdoor Use www.amazon.com/dp/B00ICVHY5I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabt1_dlC_..MVFbDJBQAHA?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
My Boston Terrier named Leo actually likes to jump in the snow so I was definitely shocked to know that most don't like it. Everytime he has been in the snow he has a coat on so I don't know if that makes a difference. But Leo definitely doesn't like being left alone and he also doesn't like when I'm in my room with him but I'm not paying attention to him for awhile. I'm in college so I have to sit and do school work at my desk and periodically he will try to get me to play with him if he isn't sleeping
My Boston Terrier goes out in the rain and loves it. When we had snow, she ate the snow and really enjoyed running around in it. Also, she hates her nails getting trimmed. She is ok with us leaving as long as we play Alexia and her lullaby's. She goes into her kennel with a blanket her mom slept on: she is now going on 8 Mo's old. We treat her when we return, and it usually includes a 20 minute running in the backyard. Great video!
Our Boston hates loud noises: fireworks, thunder, etc. He’ll come running with ears back, and snuggle like crazy. The cuddles do seem to make him feel better, though...
My Boston hates nails trimming, baths. And when the mail man drops the mail inside the door she runs to the door or she runs around table fast. Lol so funny.
My Rosie waits for food and when she sees me pickup car keys, she runs to the door. When that happens, I I put a treat in the recliner and she jumps up there to get it so I can leave. Rosie barks at the vacuum and doorbell. She wears a shirt and coat too. Rosie hates the rain and snow. Great video.
My boston is super affectionate and scared of snow, but he doesn’t seem to mind rain! He follows me everywhere and always needs to be close by, and he likes to be under the blankets with me! He’ll actually try to dig at them to get himself under sometimes lol
Chunk is a pure Boston but I think he’s got a screw loose if going by this list?😂😂 He runs TO the vacuum and wants to be vacuumed same with blow dryers. He LOVES taking baths, he loves the water and garden hose on bum. He loves the rain!!! He doesn’t mind cold weather, it’s a chance for him too wear clothes, which he loves!!! The No when begging, thats true with Chunk. He’s never been in snow.. hopefully we’ll get to the mountains this year?
My Boston also hates the word “no.” He’s only one year of age. He also hates his nails to be trimmed. He is the most comical dog I’ve ever had. He really loves me. He is not necessarily a dependent dog but likes to have me close by. Glad to find your channel!!
I have a 14 week old Boston terrier. She hates baths but she doesn’t fight me she just can’t wait to finish. She doesn’t enjoy pottying in the rain but she’ll do it once she’s out there. She hates the vacuum. My broom she attacks even worse than the vacuum.
New to your videos. I had two Boston’s they were my couch potatoes. But they went crazy when the door bell rang or someone knocked. Rose was about 8 pads.and Teddy was almost 20 psd ,from the same litter. Rose was definitely the boss. They’re the best companion you could ever have.
Been there done that. On my 3rd Bostie. He will be 12 in January..he was diagnosed with Cushings 3 yrs ago. He is taking Vetrol twice daily. I supplement his diet with Omega 3, rub his skin with vitamin E. He bounces around like a puppy. Yes, tears roll down. I know it won't be long..thank you. Didn't know anyone else felt like this about their Bostie.❤
Bath time: NO KIDDING! I hold a towel in my hand, stare at my BT for a few seconds, she puts her head down & slowly walks into the shower. We all know how BT’s have that sad look on their faces. She gives me that sad look even though she loves bath time. ❤️❤️❤️
My Boston Terrier will not sit on anything cold like ceramic, tiled, linoleum floors or cement. She will sit on carpet, grass, a towel, and furniture. She is soooooo fussy.
Luci is my first Boston. She was potty trained at 8 weeks. The first thing to do when bringing home a new puppy is to take them out to potty using the door they’ll always use. Use a code word! Mine is go potty. Luci’s “safe space” is her kennel. From day one, code word is “kennel”. I got her a stuffed animal for a sleep buddy. When she’s in her taxi she’s quiet. No barking. Food training has gone well. She’s not allowed to be all over me and she’s not allowed to be in my lap. She has learned to lay a short distance and she does great. She’s currently 7 months old and I’ve been training her to stay in the living room while we are at the table eating. If she does come in to the dining room, I call her with me to the living room and tell her to stay. She gets in her bed. So far the BEST DOG I have ever had and I am so smitten with her I can’t stand it. Ps. Doesn’t like cold or rain; but she will go do her duty albeit it very quickly!
My BT doesn't like the rain, but he has not yet experienced really cold weather or snow. I do know that he can't take the heat. During the summer, he would pant and want back in the house fairly quickly. I always kept a bowl of fresh water close by and he appreciated that! He is so far enjoying the cooler temps and does zoomies in the yard. He doesn't mind baths or trimming his toenails tho.
My Boston Leo also has a hard time in the summer and prefers cooler weather. My family got a puppy a few months back and they actually do zoomies together outside
I had a great BT for 13 yrs and it devastated me when I had to put him down. After a yr and a half, I just recently got a new BT that is 4 mo old. My days are much better as a retired person. I do catch myself calling him Baron, my last dog and his name is Radar.
I lost my best friend a few weeks ago. He was only 9yrs. I would never get another breed Boston's are the most wonderful, fun, kind, interesting, intelligent breed I've even known. They are the perfect combination of active dog and lap dog.
One of my Murphys favorite things in the world are baths! He gets so excited! My 1st Boston was a GREAT swimmer. We lived on a lake & he would swim with our black lab. Could almost keep up with him too! Only thing slwing him down were waves slapping his nose. Couldnt grap the sticks. Lol
I have 2 Boston’s and can relate. I live in Wisconsin so when it snows I shovel out a section in the grass so they can do business. Works like a charm and I repair grass in spring. Rain I wait for it to slow to a sprinkle or downtime. That seems to work. Sweaters and jackets are a must
Same here on Long Island, NY. I'd always shovel a clearing for him in the snow and reseed in spring. I was thinking of getting one of those outdoor ice melt pads. Save a moms back😉 Snow, rain, thunder, my Ninja blender not his thing at all ...
My Boston terrier also got cured from doorbell he just kinda starts stretching instead of barking and my Boston loves baths every time we play he drags me to the bath tub for a bath. AND HE LOVES SNOW and kinda just waddles around in it and just LOVES IT XD
Funny thing about my Boston is that she doesn't hate the snow and cold weather, in fact she doesn't like being covered up unless she's snuggling next to me. And rain...she loves it. She'll go outside alone while our two big dogs stay inside. Lol.
My 12 year old Willie owns my heart. He was diagnosed with an aggressive oral cancer. All I have to do is look at him and I cry. Please keep a kind thought in your heart for him and me too.
Whenever we go on vacation to the beach or water park, out Boston always makes a bed on the towels trying to get us to take her but we just can’t and it’s so cute but very sad🥲
Spot on with the rain as number 1! As I struggle with depression I will never choose a different breed... My Boston is my life! She makes life worth while for both me and my wife.
Life is definitely better with a Boston 🤠 I would say the top 8 on your list ,pertain to all dogs(with the exception of storm drains) that one is new to me. Although we have an Australian Shepherd mix that is terrified of laundry baskets and garbage cans? Cold weather, absolutely a no go with Bostons! We are on our first Boston, we’ve had several other dogs, never seen anything like it. Refuses to go out in cold or rain.Whenever she sees the leash come out she’s all over it, so I’ll be curious to see the next time we have snow?
My Brooklyn Ann Butler, hates thunder and storms in general. She loves walks, and kids, but is jealous of small other dogs. She loves attention and cuddling. Sweet, sweet demeanor.
Our Bostons relate to some of the issues, but our female "Tapanga" loves the snow.. We live in Michigan, and when there is fresh snow, she loves to run around and stick her face in it.. The issue of leaving the house and going some where without them.. Our male "Mr Beans" will get upset and poop on the floor to show his disappointment..LOL
2 of the 3 of mine. Loves baths, my Boston , Rocky loved the vacuum. His dad scooter would chase and grab the broom, and Rocky would chase and growl and grab vacuum.I miss them so much!
My first Boston, Maxine, hated rain, and walking in the sun on hot summer days ( she would insist on dashing into all the shadows along the way). She also hated being left alone in the house, though she did get used to it eventually. She also hated when someone knocked on the front door and would bark loudly which was she never otherwise would do. She could not stand to be kept out of the room when there was company. She hated wearing dog booties to walk in snow or slush and would tear them off with her teeth. So we would have to wipe off her feet whenever we came back in from a walk outside in snow, sand and salt.
Clyde is our first Boston and he is a great dog! So smart! As far as begging at the table, he doesn’t and we have a bed which he lays down to sleep while we eat. In the summer when we go to the lake house we just take it to the neighbors and he will do the same. We can’t believe how good he is! Maybe you could try that!
My boy is so fine with fireworks going off and thunder... But his sis is that barometer... So there's flat cushions under the bed which settles her after some time
with everyone of my Bostons....from the day they either come to their forever home or are born...I use to breed.....I have always played "thunderstorm sounds music" at night when they sleep.....I swear it has helped i have not (knock on wood) that freek out with those kinda sounds.
My boston terrier is almost 2yrs old. Let me just say Wow, what an adventure I've been having. Love my Biscuit. To comment on this video particularly though, my boston is a like on some. But totally opposite on the cold. He loves it. He loves the rain also (but hates bath time) as long as it's not storming. I am very happy and pleased with my boston terrier. High energy, very intelligent and he has an excellent body shape. The two main down falls is the whinning and he demands my attention at all times. Love your videos. keep them coming. Biscuit's human, Tracy
Our Boston hated it when we talked too loudly... It wasn't even when we argued or raised our voices. We could have just been laughing about something in the living room and he could glance at us through narrowed eyes, ears pulled back, then huff and get off his chair and go upstairs... 😂 It was hilarious to witness, especially because he wasn't scared, but he did NOT enjoy the volume change to his atmospheric evening, thank you very much.
Our Boston Terrier, Roxy, is 12 years old. Rain doesn’t bother her at all. She was raised to go out the doggie door to potty and rain or shine she will go out to potty. It doesn’t bother her to get wet outside but then she doesn’t like to get in the tub for a bath.
Try giving your pup a soothing XP after going out in the rain, a couple nice dry towels and rubbing their ears or a heated blanket so they know that going out in the rain will later be rewarded with a nice loving and comforting time afterwards.
Two of our 4 Boston's love the snow. Our pup runs around the yard biting at the falling snow and rolls in it. My boy who passed last year loved being outside with me when I shoveled the driveway. He would bark until I threw snowballs for him.
We've got a Boston-Chihuahua mix that doesn't like getting his nails trimmed, but he'll sit for at least one paw's worth of work at a time. He used to hate it a lot more, but then he saw our other dog (a longhaired dachshund/wire-haired terrier mix) throw an absolute crying fit at the groomer's one day during a nail-trimming. Since then, it was like something clicked in his brain--a combination of "I don't want to be like that" and "I'm the better dog and I'll prove it"--and he's been pretty good about it since then.
Millie definitely hates bath time, having her nails trimmed, being told no, and not getting to go “bye bye in the car” with me. She doesn’t fight me on baths, but she does try to hide when I say the evil b word 🤣 I take her with me wherever I can, but since she isn’t a service dog, she has to stay home sometimes.
She sounds a lot like my baby. I love my Boston Terrier so much and dread the day that she and I will part. It brings tears to my eyes to even think about it. Thank you for posting your note.
We rescued a mini boxer (half Boston terrier, half boxer, we think), and she HATES all these things too! Especially the cold. We have a big, beautiful fenced yard with a locked gate. When it's cold, one of us ends up standing there in the cold with her on a leash. I've NEVER had a dog like this before. I'm used to golden retrievers, and we also have a Lhasa Apso, who are absolutely in love with snow! But my mini boxer won't have it. She has sensitive toes. But she's also one of the smartest dogs I've had. She covers herself with blankets.
My boston hated the rain! Lol. He was such a good dog that i would yell at him and say to pee and he would put his ears down and do the walk of shame like a tippie toe and pee and run back to me
I have had 4 Boston Terrier's and none of them bark when the doorbell rings. They all have loved the water and boating. I believe it has to do with what you expose them to from very early on.
This list doesn't align with my experiences. My two girls love to play in the snow. Granted, they like to come snuggle by the fireplace afterwards, but they love it and the thicker, the better. Vacuum is not an issue but a broom or rake gets their attention. Nails, baths, and teeth brushing are all easy and looked forward to by the girls. These girls don't mind the rain, but our boy we had before was scared of thunder. I love these dogs. We will never have any other breed.
My Boston isn't afraid of storm drains she literally ran out of the house and cut her leg on from the drain and still didn't avoid it. We had to take her to the vet to get it looked at. Luckily it was just a small scratch.
I was waiting for the rain to be mentioned and started laughing when it was number 1 on the list! I'm glad to know its not just my Boston Willow who hates the rain lol
I am getting a new Boston terrier puppy. He comes home the second we will be going to pick him up January 2! We are very excited and can’t wait to see what’s in store I have been researching the last two months on Boston’s and we couldn’t go with any other breed. I’m counting down the days thank you for the videos - Lafayette, Indiana.
My Boston had separation anxiety and used to shake and vomit when we would leave. We got another dog and that got so much better!! Both of my dogs hate the cold and rain so now we have an issue with them doing their business in our garage instead of outside!
We have a Boston cross breed who absolutely HATES having her nails trimmed...even with treats. She also hates baths and cold weather, but it's cold 40 weeks of the year in UK and rains 52 weeks a year LOL. We don't have storm drains so that's not a problem and we haven't had a snow season yet. She tolerates the vacuum.
We just got our first puppy! We absolutely adore him! I did a ton of research before hand, but after re-reading everything I'm having a small panic attack at all the potential health concerns. We are of course following all the vaccination / testing protocols to a T but none the less, I find my mind drifting to all the possible negative health concerns. Is this normal for first time boston owners? Also, if some of you could let me know if you encountered any of the "common" health concerns, or even if you haven't, I would greatly appreciate it 🙏🏻
Millie is my first BT. She’s almost 9 months old and the only “issue” we’ve encountered has been allergies to pollen and grass. I started giving her an all natural allergy chew once a day that her vet recommended, and she hasn’t had any issues since. My sister has 2 BT’s and she has never had any major health concerns with them. I think that as new pawrents, we can get a bit overwhelmed with the possible health concern scenarios that we see on the internet, but don’t stress too much. If something seems off with your baby, take them to the doggie doctor to make sure all is well. Otherwise, enjoy all of those sweet puppy kisses, snuggles, and farts (BT’s are great at farting, lol!).
First and foremost, invest in medical and wellness insurance for your baby. Maybe others can make recommendations for a good medical coverage and routine wellness exams. I have been a stickler on food - Bostons are known for gas (baaaad gas) and our vet recommended FROMM Puppy Food. She’s been on it once I was done mixing what the breeder had her on. I’m sure I’ll sound like a rule monger but she gets zero human food. Just FROMM Gold Puppy. And zero issues. I hope others can chime in on the insurance. It will save you a lot if your baby does need treatment.
Our Bella the Boston hates rain (living in Oregon we get a lot of it) and thunder/fireworks. We have to put her coat on before she will go out in the rain. She doesn’t seem to mind the snow though and actually gets the zoomies and enjoys playing in the snow.
The solution to #9 separation anxiety - get two Bostons- when you leave they have each other and are perfectly content! Your #1&2 are right on and probably the snow but our two have never seen that!
My Mom and I had sisters BT .Zoe mine hated the car and had to be sedated .Her sister Molly, was asleep before you left the driveway ! They enjoyed being together during visits And their different behaviors never changed !
My 4 Boston’s don’t mind the doorbell at all, but hate baths, cold weather, and most of all do not want anything to do with the rain. Your dog’s description of being in the rain matched my for exactly. One funny thing, I live in the wooded area and my dogs do not like chipmunks, they don’t mind squirrels or birds.
Ha we live in the PNW where it rains all the time so we got a buggy for Frank. He goes apeshit crazy when we bring out the garden hose or even water outdoor plants with the water can. Attacks them, really loses his mind. I like that he barks when people come to the door. One reason why have a dog! But when we walk outside he goes crazy when he sees another dog so we just pick him up (he’s small). He is the best dog we’ve ever had: sweet, loving, chill, funny, playful, gentle..we are head over heels in love.
Mine has lots of energy and they are so funny to watch. Stetson is also good about taking a bath. He loves the frisbee and I found a good one, also a ball. The frisbee is made by West Paw. He can never break this one.
The only thing I hate about Bostons is that they don't live forever. I dread the day......tears rolling down my face thinking about it.
💞
Having just lost my Maltese mix in December and got a BT in March, I know how hard it is. I can't believe I'm going to go through it again, but here we are! Life is better with a dog!
I lost my larabeth last October had she made it 2 more months she woulda been 17.it about killed me she was my bestfreind an my life is so messed up with out her.i hate coming home after work cause larabis supposed to be their with her toy waiting on me .I said I'd never get another one but I get to thinking how the entire time I had her was best 17 years of my life with only 3 bad days.she was healthy till the end I new the day be4 she died she wasn't goina make it cause she didn't meet me at the door with a toy an she died the next nite.them two days sucked but the great times were 10 thousand to one over the 2 bad days so im giina get me a puppy very soon .I start crying when I think about my lil lara beth being gone.life definitely is not the same
😥 I'm so sorry for your loss.
@@BostonTerrierSociety thank you it was hard but having her was best 17 years of my life
My baby bullet left us last June 15,2023. I swear that was the worst day of my life. I love you so much Bullet! Youre always in my heart forever and always! You will never be forgotten
I feel for you. I recently lost my BT on Jan 22, 2024 after 11 years with him. It'll be awhile before I get another dog.
Ugh that's the worst. I lost my boxer to cancer. One more day and he would have been with me for 15 years. I didn't even want a dog when I got him but he became my best friend.
So sorry for your loss! Big HUG!
I had a Boston named Bullet when I was 8 years old . Im 61 now. My mini dachshund passed a few months ago. I'm getting another Boston.
BULLET, NOOOOOO!!!!!😢❤
I have had my boston, Tessie, since I was 10. We both have March birthdays and this year I will be 22 and she will be 12. Honestly, Tessie is the best thing to ever happen to me. Whenever I think about how much I love this dog, it always brings me to tears because she has been with me through the formative years in my journey to becoming an adult. I couldn't ask for a better companion and first child. Bostons are truly the best dogs.
😊
omg my bosten is called tessie!!
Also they do like to make you feel sad when you are eating!
lol true
I have a bar but he is mad a lot
I know right
I get a handful of blueberries when I'm eating and give him one every few minutes.
Thanks for the advice!! I'm going to try this, mine hates the shower and she shakes 😢 it makes bath time horrible because I feel terribly.
They’re very sensitive. Ours hides when someone gets overly emotional (crying or shouting)... hates rain!!! Hates cold. Definitely wants to go with us everywhere. Tunnels under blankets to nap or sleep for the night.
😊
Kinda same, but ours are not as scared
Ya mine sleeps under the blanket
Oh damn no kidding. Even when I’m bitching a little too loud to one of my friends on the phone, mine goes and hides🤣 I have to walk on eggshells when he’s around.
Same. Mine shakes and runs into the other room if anyone gets upset.
I started playing with my BT's feet & toes from day one, so he doesn't mind having his nails trimmed. He doesn't mind his baths either. He doesn't like rain, heat or cold, but I don't blame him! Most of the time he is a dream come true, but he can be a little monster at times too. LOL But he is my baby and I love him
My Boston hates the rain, snow, loud noises, people yelling/exclaiming, long sticks, vacuums, and bald people
My Boston is scared of his own farts. Most are silent but deadly, but when he lets off the occasional loud one, his eyes go wide and he will run away from his own butt and get as close to me as possible for a cuddle 😂 Love him so much!!
😄
Omg funny🤣🤣
We had a Boston that, as a puppy, would squeal and lean back to inspect his backside when sitting on the dining room floor. We thought his leg might be hurt, or he was having hip issues, but in reality it was his farts vibrating against the wood floor that scared the heck out of him.
Our Boston ignores his own farts but gives us a dirty look if we fart
I relate to the rain one so much because even when it’s done raining my Boston won’t go out bc the ground is still wet lol
If my cousin’s would have never had a Boston, I would have never had one! But I’m glad I have a Boston terrier because they are adorable
I love Bosco. That's the dog for me! I got a new 9 week old. He has taken my heart. ❤
my boston loves snow it like energizes him. he is usually like a big fat lump on the ground but when its snowing he runs around and digs in it and loves it
My boston is the same! Loves snow but hates rain and cold
My guy loves digging up the snow and chasing the sled down the hill. I think some Boston’s just live for fun and adventure and can tolerate a lot if they are having fun!
I’ve got a Boston/French bulldog mix, and she LOVES the snow! Ripping around the backyard as fast as she can in snow up to her ears this winter!
Excellent list. Rain, snow, cold, whining when we're eating, doorbells...so true. Thanks for this list. Bella is so cute.

We are blessed☺️Our girl doesn’t mind the rain at all.
Ours won't even go potty in the rain on a leash - and with me holding an umbrella over her!
Omg what! Mariachi LOVES the snow and the lake!
Yes some Boston’s do like the snow. But the majority in the poll I conducted do not.
I actually busted out laughing when you said Bella might have seen the movie “IT”
Lol I’m glad you like it
Our Boston hates loud noises: fireworks, thunder, etc. He’ll come running with ears back, and snuggle like crazy.
The cuddles do seem to make him feel better, though...
My boston hides under the couch! Haha
Thanks!
My boston is super affectionate and scared of snow, but he doesn’t seem to mind rain! He follows me everywhere and always needs to be close by, and he likes to be under the blankets with me! He’ll actually try to dig at them to get himself under sometimes lol
bro that picture
My buddy Cory is not your usual Boston. He doesn't like the cold. But he's perfect in my heart and lufe❤
We raised with 5 of them. Now have owned 3 pugs but still love Boston’s.
Thanks for sharing!
😊
Mine does the same when I'm inside her CLASSIC!
My Bostons LOVE LOVE LOVE the Snow! They also dont mind the rain.
My Boston Terrier will not sit on anything cold like ceramic, tiled, linoleum floors or cement. She will sit on carpet, grass, a towel, and furniture. She is soooooo fussy.
Same ours won't either.
Mine either!!!
I recommend forcibly protruding/inserting with vigor ice/snow to dogs rectal region
You're sick, you know?
Ours actually seems to love playing the snow with the kids! But he definitely hates the vacuum.
😊
Mine loved the snow too. But the rain, not so much.
Wow, spot on..rain, drains and cold…you nailed it.
They are the perfect combination of active dog and lap dog.
so sorry for your loss.
@@BostonTerrierSociety thank you. I truly appreciate your kindness
@@BostonTerrierSociety thank you. I miss him every day all day. I hope you are doing well
One of my Murphys favorite things in the world are baths!
Sweaters and jackets are a must
Thanks for sharing!
😊
So weird! My Boston Terrier loves the cold and the snow, he can’t get enough of it!
How do you taught your Boston that xD
I don’t watch your videos very often but when I am
I learn new things for my little Boston terrier Rilee and your Boston terrier Bella is adorbs!
I've had 2 bostons over the years. Put your boston in another room or basement during meal times and feeding them first helps too.
Life is definitely better with a Boston 🤠
I would say the top 8 on your list ,pertain to all dogs(with the exception of storm drains) that one is new to me.
It sounds like Tapanga has a serious cocain addiction. 1800HELP
Let's all pray for Topanga and her family tonight
😊
Clyde is our first Boston and he is a great dog! So smart! As far as begging at the table, he doesn’t and we have a bed which he lays down to sleep while we eat. In the summer when we go to the lake house we just take it to the neighbors and he will do the same. We can’t believe how good he is! Maybe you could try that!
😊
My Boston's HATE Thunder and Lightening!!
Absolutely can relate to that. My girl is a barometer, she goes hiding under beds 30 mins before they hit.
and fireworks
My boy is so fine with fireworks going off and thunder... But his sis is that barometer... So there's flat cushions under the bed which settles her after some time
with everyone of my Bostons....from the day they either come to their forever home or are born...I use to breed.....I have always played "thunderstorm sounds music" at night when they sleep.....I swear it has helped i have not (knock on wood) that freek out with those kinda sounds.
mine likes to go try and fight it
My boston terrier is almost 2yrs old.
😄
Our Boston Terrier, Roxy, is 12 years old. Rain doesn’t bother her at all. She was raised to go out the doggie door to potty and rain or shine she will go out to potty. It doesn’t bother her to get wet outside but then she doesn’t like to get in the tub for a bath.
I have a puppy and he acts weird outside when it’s raining, now I understand why) thanks for the video, very useful channel!
Thank you
Try giving your pup a soothing XP after going out in the rain, a couple nice dry towels and rubbing their ears or a heated blanket so they know that going out in the rain will later be rewarded with a nice loving and comforting time afterwards.
Two of our 4 Boston's love the snow. Our pup runs around the yard biting at the falling snow and rolls in it. My boy who passed last year loved being outside with me when I shoveled the driveway. He would bark until I threw snowballs for him.
😊
Loving this channel 💓
Thank you 🙏
We've got a Boston-Chihuahua mix that doesn't like getting his nails trimmed, but he'll sit for at least one paw's worth of work at a time.
Lol. He was such a good dog that i would yell at him and say to pee and he would put his ears down and do the walk of shame like a tippie toe and pee and run back to me
We got a Boston terrier by the name Oreo .she is like a child in our home, and very spoiled.all the things that's been mentioned is spot on.
I have had 4 Boston Terrier's and none of them bark when the doorbell rings. They all have loved the water and boating. I believe it has to do with what you expose them to from very early on.
I would agree
Pretty spot on list! Nails baths doorbells and not going also cold or real hot!
This is the best and most informative Boston Terrier channel on UA-cam.
Thank you!
My Boston isn't afraid of storm drains she literally ran out of the house and cut her leg on from the drain and still didn't avoid it. We had to take her to the vet to get it looked at. Luckily it was just a small scratch.
Oh no, luckily it was just a scratch.
I was waiting for the rain to be mentioned and started laughing when it was number 1 on the list! I'm glad to know its not just my Boston Willow who hates the rain lol
Whenever my dog barks at the door power window we just join in🤣 to teach her to be a good guard dog
I am getting a new Boston terrier puppy. He comes home the second we will be going to pick him up January 2! We are very excited and can’t wait to see what’s in store I have been researching the last two months on Boston’s and we couldn’t go with any other breed. I’m counting down the days thank you for the videos - Lafayette, Indiana.
how exciting!
My boss Morty hates being messed with when he's napping he takes his sleep VERY seriously!! Lolo
Your Boss? Leave him alone!
My Boston must be one of a kind. He loves the snow, vacuum, storm drains, door bells, and loves the rain.
Our two year old Boston despises bath time and not a huge swimmer. Likes to get wet and roll in the dirt aftewards.
it might be because my boston grew up in new york but she absolutely loves the snow im just glad we have a nice big backyard she loves it!
😊
My Boston HATES when I trick him! LOL
We definitely have a unique one...she LOVES the snow-- and tolerates the cold just to play in it. 😄
😄
Try a drone or Remote control car. Every time we get these out our Boston’s go crazy they bark and bite and jump for the drone or the car
My Boston had separation anxiety and used to shake and vomit when we would leave. We got another dog and that got so much better!!
Both of my dogs hate the cold and rain so now we have an issue with them doing their business in our garage instead of outside!
Rain, but big puddles caused by the rain even more!
Also, if some of you could let me know if you encountered any of the "common" health concerns, or even if you haven't, I would greatly appreciate it 🙏🏻
I have had 5 BT’s and none of them had any problems until their old age and it was typical “old age” dog problems. I just got a new puppy yesterday!
I have been a breeder for 35 years and I have never encountered any health disorders of any kind.
Don’t tell me you only 1 boston! Just wondering because we started with 1 then we end up with 4 in the spun of 9 years 😁😁😁😁😁
Yep, just Bella for now.
The solution to #9 separation anxiety - get two Bostons- when you leave they have each other and are perfectly content! Your #1&2 are right on and probably the snow but our two have never seen that!
Yep, Bostons love having another dog to pal around with. They will get jealous and compete for attention of course, but it's usually not a big deal.
My Boston hates riding in the car. First dog I ever had that has anxiety over riding in the car. I have to tranquilize her on long trips
Our dog isnt scared if driving but the only time she is scared is when riding in my moms car because my brother had an accident in that car
My Mom and I had sisters BT .Zoe mine hated the car and had to be sedated .Her sister Molly, was asleep before you left the driveway ! They enjoyed being together during visits And their different behaviors never changed !
I'm about to adopt a BT in two weeks & it's been very informative to whatch your videos. Thank you!
Thank you so much 😊 Congrats on your new fur baby!
I have a 8 week Boston terrier puppy and his name is barney and he's scared of his own farts
😊
My Boston does not like fart noises
Ha we live in the PNW where it rains all the time so we got a buggy for Frank. He goes apeshit crazy when we bring out the garden hose or even water outdoor plants with the water can. Attacks them, really loses his mind. I like that he barks when people come to the door. One reason why have a dog! But when we walk outside he goes crazy when he sees another dog so we just pick him up (he’s small). He is the best dog we’ve ever had: sweet, loving, chill, funny, playful, gentle..we are head over heels in love.
Thinking about getting one not gonna lie
You should get one
Mine has lots of energy and they are so funny to watch. Stetson is also good about taking a bath. He loves the frisbee and I found a good one, also a ball. The frisbee is made by West Paw. He can never break this one.
bostons are smart so they are easy to teach, mine learned without much effort from me. I think they're also very expressive
