La Palma volcano: Explosions send lava tumbling down mountainside after brief lull
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 вер 2021
- Lava exploded from La Palma's volcano on Monday as night fell on the Spanish island after a brief lull, while hundreds of people in coastal villages hunkered down in anticipation of lava emitted in previous days reaching the sea and releasing toxic gas.
Spurts of vivid red lava emerged from the Cumbre Vieja volcano in the early evening and snaked down the dark mountainside towards evacuated buildings after a period of several hours without explosions.
No fatalities or serious injuries have been reported, but about 15% of the island's banana crop could be at risk, jeopardizing thousands of jobs.

The speed the lava is traveling is terrifying.
From the speed of the rising smoke I think it's 2x speed
Thank you for not talking incessant nonsense over the natural sounds.
N V,
🤣
This is scary, shocking and beautiful all at the same time…I hope there are no lives taken…
Lol yea
Yeah, everybody understands "houses gone, land full of lava, some dangers in area and other regular stuff for volcanic island(s)". Let just enjoy beauty of it.
Man this is scary, I felt bad for those people and their houses and properties destroyed. Please be safe!
Did they make it out or do you know if anyone died? Hopefully they had enough time to evacuate
@@mikegarcia597 all people have been evacuated, however many people letf their pets behind without chance to escape
@@mikegarcia597 I haven't heard about any deaths on La Palma due to the recent volcano eruption. usually the lava flows very slowly in the beginning so you can easily outpace it.
This is not scary, When your left out, then it becomes scary!
We lose about 700 properties…
Thank you. Films of the lava are hard to find!
Should do a live transmission of this view. No other channel is filming the lava flow in such detail.
Praying for everyone who is being affected by this active volcano.
Pray for east coast USA.
Mega tsunami imminent! 🌋 🌊
@@zervzerv1214 when?
@@freddymustafa5020 4-5 hours
@@zervzerv1214 Oh good better hurry up build an ark!
@@zervzerv1214 thought it was 7-8 hours?
Beautiful to look at, but deadly.
Much better to hear the actual sounds of the volcano than some over-produced video with music. I can't even imagine how frightening this must be in person.
Nature is powerful🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Looks like what I imagine the lake of fire to look like
We must appease the lava gods and sacrifice for them lmao
It looks like a lava falls with roaring stones... This volcano is really angry. Too scary... 😨😱
I don't see it that way...It started very slowly giving people a chance to get their things and flee...No one got hurt so far...I think this volcano is taking its time... It feels that way to me...It even paused for a while...
This is scary. My prays for the people on La Palma.
Very eerie sound, I suspect that for the folks experiencing this it's like the world is coming to an end.
I watch a guy living there, he says its hard to sleep at night, its like a living nightmare at night. Hes an outdoorsman so the lose of land is very sad to him.
I think this is mother nature's way of reminding us all that she is still the boss and not mankind in case we had forgotten
Yes 100%
I think this is ufo work xd
"mother nature" is not some sort of sentient entity, so quit with your weird, insensitive lecturing.
@@jontehdon She can be very cruel..... we need to start paying attention.
@@MB-oi2em paying atention and what this will help ? You cant stop IT xD we can do nothing
Omg send prayers to everyone in La Palma my heart goes out to all of you ❤️ ❤️
That is absolutely mesmerizing footage - whoever that cameraperson is seems to really know what they're doing, freakin brilliant!
Brilliante
Drone
The flow is looking real low in viscosity, its flowing so fast now compaired to a few days ago.
it means more will come out
Yeah, it's probably like 5w-30 at this point.
IIRC, this eruption behaves similarly to the Hawaiian eruption in 2018... In the beginning, the lava ejected was also thick and viscous. Gradually, it became more fluid until it was literally flowing like a river.
That has to do with the fact that he's videoing it at the highest degree of slope. Once it hits the flatter area below it slows down dramatically. This is primarily a'a lava, which is much more fragmented and tends to crawl at a snail's pace compared to pahoehoe lava which is lower in viscosity and therefore flows much faster as experienced in the eruptions in Hawaii, where I live. I've had the pleasure of seeing these flows up close. The heat is extremely intense. It's magical and hypnotizing, even as it destroys and creates simultaneously....
@@stonew1927 The scale is deceiving. That lava is moving faster than you can run.
Incredible photography. Thank you.
The noise of the eruption is terrifying but the lava flow is deceptively beautiful to watch.
The Canary Islands exist because of Volcanoes, so you take the good with the bad.
You take them both and there you have the facts of life.
Earths billion year terraforming at work.
Atleast now it will be bigger
Yes. But common sense says don't live by an inactive 🌋. Why live there knowing it's going to pop? All that hard work literally up in smoke.
@@jage5256 because all of the islands are of volcanic origin, and i dont think telling people who have lived here for hundreds of years to not build next to a volcano is a smart argument. if it was, where is the "don't live in the US there are tornados" or "don't live in Japan there are tsunamis"? (not that many but a lot in comparison with other countries)
What's scary is this flows under us everyday.🌋
How we keep our toes warm
I really feel bad for these people that live on the island. Remarkable pictures of nature making the island bigger.
Amazing the camera man needs a pulterprize award, even the sound of the roar.
….and you a medal for spelling
7 1/2 minutes and they didn't show that property get swallowed.
@@marcbloch1963, and you need a medal for punctuation!
😏 No period at the end of your sentence. 🤣
@@MUSICMAN0055 I was waiting for it too.
Pulitzer Prize and I agree he should get some kind of reward.
Omg it's got worse since afternoon Monday the lava river is wider..and as the cone broke other day..🥺😟
Short out to the brave camera man filming this for everyone
It's a drone camera someone flew it up there. If someone was physically there you would definitely get yourself killed.
He will always survive.
Its not a drone, its a camera far away zoomed in. Notice how it shakes, means its zoomed in quite a bit.
And notice how delayed the sound is, you see a big eruption, then a couple seconds later you hear it. About 3-4 seconds meaning the camera/mic is about 1-2km away
@@xFourTwenty117 That's why it looks so close and big and frightening, because perspective is flattened, the lava flux is not really so close to the house.
Anyone else watch the whole thing waiting for it to over take that yellow home?
This!
You bet it😂
Yes Siree! You know it!
Slow & Steady wins the race
Nice lenses. Thank you!
Can’t believe how fast it’s moving.
Wishing everyone safety and ease during this time. ❤️
Wow!
Amazing. I feel so bad for the people who have lost everything. There nothing anything you can do. Just be safe
We tend to forget how powerful nature is.. this is beautiful 🔥
At the bottom of the lava flow, it looks like a dragon head. Fierce but beautiful.
I see that
So bootiful yes
Some big broadcaster might as well go there and broadcast at a resolution of at least 4k. 😐 It's a historical phenomenon.
This phenomenon is billions of years old. Love it.
That’s terrifying and amazing all at the same time.
Beautiful!
That brief lull was a coffee break; the volcano returned stronger to work.
pues tu comentario, la verdad que no me hace ninguna gracia, reina
Wow! It’s terrifying and amazing.
"Stay in your homes." Are you kidding me?!? You have to be insane to stuck around.
The roar alone is already scary😨
Wowza beautiful but so destructive and deadly
Now THAT'S a grade 8 science project!! Wow!! Amazing footage!
Yup, took some serious baking soda and vinegar and LED's: first place.
How beautiful
Wow!
Its to bad that property is probably already buried in lava as I write. Unreal ! The force of nature
It is God's wrath. It will happen at faster pace now all over the world.

Wow ! Beautiful and terrifying at the same time. Hope everyone is evacuated from this place and even animals. Stay safe everyone! 👍🏻❤️
Saw footage of goats being evacuated, the police were carrying them on their backs!
lf you Iive on a sIope of an active voIcano, you need to be aware of such risks.
R.l.P. to everyone who tragicaIIy died and Iost their houses❤️STAY SAFE.
No body died , and no body built it's house on a volcano slope, the whole island is a volcano and the crater is new...
I don’t think they have reported any deaths
There is hardly any film of the actual lava flow SOOO....good job!
Are your kidding me?
Thank you, cameraman
It's the sound that is frightening then the red hot lava...OMG.
I cant imagine volcanos eruption and destroying peoples home I feel so bad for the people who had to evacuate and leave their homes :(
I mean it was a conscience decision to live under one in the first place?
Subhanallah alhamdulillah wallahuakbar..astaghfirullah...
That's pretty amazing.
We in America are praying for all you beautiful people. I lived in Portland Oregon during the eruption of a volcano in Washington State. It was terrifying and did so much damage. After months, we were told to plow the dirt in your yards to take the many inches of ash into the ground. Please wear several maskes and go outside only win you must. Change filters in your homes and cars 2 times per week. We love you.❤
That’s so impressive
Flowing very fast!😨 that house and property on bottom probably toast
Showing no signs of slowing down that whole island is gonna end up in the ocea , GET EM OUTTA THERE
It is actually a pretty small area; not so good for those houses downhill.
@@jollybegood there's 85k people on that island. It's quite large. Only a few thousand evacuated the island. The island is 273 sq miles
Agreed
@@benotafraid9875 oh my
The island will simply grow larger as the lava cools, making more land. No one will be able to live there for a while, but look at Hawaii…..every bit if that land is volcanic rock.
absolutely incredible!!!!
Terrifying and so beautiful at the same time! I feel for the people who have homes there, yet, watching the volcano, from the outside, all I can think of is words like magnificent, awe-inspiring, amazing...WOW. Thank you for sharing this!
Prayers up 🙏🏾
Espectacular
Las explosiones suenan increíbles. Pura furia, como el huracán María del 2017.
Excellent video
Very good work

Amazing
I would never live anywhere near as volcano - or close to the seashore.
It looks so hot!!! And the sounds it makes is just absolutely terrifying! God bless everyone that lives there! It must be so hard to sleep through that noise.
