For some recommendations: Ravishing the Heiress is a historical (it can be a little slow but there is good pinning). Love in the Afternoon and The Wedding Trap also are historical novels that have unrequited love (love in the afternoon is my favorite). Lead by Kylie Scott and My Darling Arrow are two really good contemporaries that I would recommend the most. If anyone has more recommendations please let me know!
I feel the same way as you about jealousy in romance. I love when it’s an internal thing, especially before the two characters actually recognize they’re in love with each other, but when it’s a possessive alpha thing I just get irritated or rolling my eyes. For grumpy/sunshine, I’d say Honeytrap by Aster Glenn Gray fits the trope really well! Great video ❤
Omg you are so sweet 🥰 So happy you read Again the Magic! I totally see what you mean though. A few flashbacks between the couple would have been a nice addition.
thanks for the reviews, I'm hooked to your videos! btw you don't need makeup for your videos, whatever is more convenient and comfortable for you works!
I'm definitely picky about second chance romance tropes, in the same way I am with enemies-to-lovers, because I've read a few too many where I simply cannot get over the original break up or source of conflict. But I keep going back to it, so maybe I'll try these ones, too
girl I read Him because of your recommendations video and it was so good! I totally agree with your thoughts on it. We're clearly shown why these two are pining for each other & why they works so well together. To me, its the puzzle piece element you always talk about. Plus the banter is good & smut so sexy. I thought the exploration of sexuality was so well done, the characters communicated AND the scenes were very hot. I also LOVE the oblivious jealousy trope you mentioned, definitely don't see it used enough outside fanfic. Also, so excited the vlogs are back! I wonder what the big announcement is
Add The Co-op to my TBR based on your recommendation. I love these trope videos and can't wait for Grumpy/Sunshine. It's one of my favs. I really love big city girl/small town trope too a la The Simple Wild.
I am really enjoying this series. I love the statistics and science of finding your favourite tropes😂 hope everything is okay. Sending love and light💕 thank you for a great video
Loved this video! A grumpy x sunshine romance I’ve enjoyed is The Tourist Attraction by Sarah Morgenthaler. It’s a small town romance set in Alaska and I found it a lot of fun!
Never been this early to one of your videos, but I recently found your channel and have been taking recommendations from you and really enjoyed them all
I enjoyed funny feelings but loved the co-op! I'm with you on this one ;) I'm currently reading rootbound from her. Tarah Dewitt is definitely becoming one of my favorites!
i have no recs for grumpy/sunshine, but i have a vague request - all the m/f grumpy/sunshine i've ever found is grumpy man + sunshine woman, and i'd love to see the reverse (does abby jimenez's part of your world do that? i've never heard it called grump/sunshine tho)
For grumpy sunshine I have to recommend the fiction between us as a fun grumpy sunshine I’m which the heroine is the grumpy one which I always feel like is a nice change from the norm
For the grumpy-sunshine video, I would really love to watch you read the failing hours by Sara Ney. It is the second in a college-sport-romance series, but they are interconnected standalones and this series is one of my favourites and I totally feel that it deserves more hype.
2 mins into your video, and I just wanted to comment ahead. I adore Lisa Kleypas's Again Like Magic. One of my most memorable second chance romances. I hope you enjoy it.
I'm assuming that the grumpy x sunshine you'll read as a reread will be it happened one summer by tessa bailey... some others that come to mind are act your age, eve brown by talia hibbert, go hex yourself by jessica clare, in the weeds by BK borison, battle royal by lucy parker, and always only you by chloe liese (this is girl grump, guy sunshine!). I feel like tessa dare uses that trope a lot in her romances (wallflower wager, romancing the duke, the duchess deal) as well.
I put a hold on Him in early May and where I currently am on the list, I won’t get to read it until November…😮 who the heck are all these people reading a MM hockey romance?? Is it cuz the Stanley cup playoffs are happening right now? 😆
If you want an angsty second chance romance All That Has Flown Beyond by Marina Vivancos is so good! There are lots of flashbacks and soooo much angst.
Fun video and enjoyed your reviews. The only book I read was the Lisa Kleypas one….ironically I haven’t really reread the whole book but I do have one scene saved that was one of my favorites and I do open and reread just that part. I was trying to figure out how to share here without giving it away cuz it’s a key one and checked to find the chapter….well…lol, it’s ch. 19🤣. I’ll leave that there but like you I wasn’t a impressed with the whole book either although I love this author. This leads me to my recommendation for grumpy/sunshine and one of my favorite “full books rereads” is by her also called “Dreaming of You”- if you haven’t read this then I highly recommend it and pretty sure Derek Craven will steal ur 💗 a little. Editing to add in this long comment that the first book in this series is also a fave reread called “ Then Came You”- you don’t need to read in order but if they interest you then I’d recommend starting with book 1.
Two of the three videos of yours I watched you were putting on makeup. Which is fine. But then you were doing stuff with your eyes, which (and this is 100% a me thing) I just can't watch. Great videos, but so much highlighting of my phobias! In your Top 20 Kindle romance books, you mentioned a "why choose" book you didn't like (600 pages? Yeah, I can understand why), but another one that you've probably read (and also a hockey one) that I enjoyed was Double Pucked by Lauren Blakely.
I enjoyed funny feelings but loved the co-op! I'm with you on this one ;) I'm currently reading rootbound from her. Tarah Dewitt is definitely becoming one of my favorites!
Please do unrequited love books next!! It’s my favorite trope of all time!!
Currently in this situation and would really appreciate recommendations?💔
Yes!
Yess!!!

@@elizabethc1832 Thanks for the recommendations! I LOVED My Darling Arrow!! 🙌🏼❤️

I read ‘Him’ at your recommendation and I absolutely adored it! The smut in this book is 10/10. Loved!
The shift in tone when youre talking about Kat Singleton then the Lulu Moore is KILLING me 😂😂
Mutual pining is my absolute favourite romance trope, would love to see recommendations for it ❤
there's one up on my channel ;)
@@chandlerainsley ooh thank you!!
Our story 's cover is so pretty, I usually don't like people on the cover but this one is done differently and it really stands out
thanks for the reviews, I'm hooked to your videos! btw you don't need makeup for your videos, whatever is more convenient and comfortable for you works!

Grumpy sunshine: Brynn Asher - Athica Lane! Her hero’s are always so broody (and this has single dad trope too).
"As a yee-haw myself" 😂 what a cute book box! I like this video format, reading & comparing books with similar tropes 👍🏻👍🏻
Add The Co-op to my TBR based on your recommendation. I love these trope videos and can't wait for Grumpy/Sunshine. It's one of my favs. I really love big city girl/small town trope too a la The Simple Wild.

Your cats are so adorable I love watching them as they lounge behind you. The cutest distractions ❤️
I am so invested in whatever news Chandler has for us.
LOL it's not good news, don't get too excited
@chandler ainsley OH Noooo!!!! My pessimistic ass really went to the hope of book, baby, or fur baby. The community is here for you.
I've reread Him like 10 times. It's my favorite romance lol
Loved this video! A grumpy x sunshine romance I’ve enjoyed is The Tourist Attraction by Sarah Morgenthaler. It’s a small town romance set in Alaska and I found it a lot of fun!
I'm so excited for the return of your weekly reading vlogs 🥺♥I love your vids so much
Never been this early to one of your videos, but I recently found your channel and have been taking recommendations from you and really enjoyed them all
I really have no interest in the romance genre, but I just love Chandler’s personality.
same!
I've never read a second chance romance, probably because I don't really read romance much at all, but I feel like I'd actually enjoy this trope.
I enjoyed funny feelings but loved the co-op! I'm with you on this one ;)
I'm currently reading rootbound from her. Tarah Dewitt is definitely becoming one of my favorites!
I don’t usually seek out second chance romance but I generally enjoy when a book has it (when it’s done well ofc lol)
Loved this! One of my favorite grumpy-sunshine books is a little older. It's Walk of Shame by Lauren Layne.
Grumpy/Sunshine rec is Icebreaker by Hannah Grace. She is the grump, he is the sunshine. Smutty for sure!
i think i recommended written in the stars for the fake dating video but it also works for grumpy/sunshine so i'm going with that one again!!
i have no recs for grumpy/sunshine, but i have a vague request - all the m/f grumpy/sunshine i've ever found is grumpy man + sunshine woman, and i'd love to see the reverse (does abby jimenez's part of your world do that? i've never heard it called grump/sunshine tho)
I feel like “always only you” by Chloe Liese is a good reversal of the trope
Him sounds fun! definitely need to add it to my tbr😊
I would die to see one of this about the boyfriend's brother trope
For grumpy sunshine I have to recommend the fiction between us as a fun grumpy sunshine I’m which the heroine is the grumpy one which I always feel like is a nice change from the norm
I would love to see a video like this on slow burn books!
Highly recommend Georgie, All Along by Kate Clayborn for grumpy sunshine (if you haven't read it already)!
For the grumpy-sunshine video, I would really love to watch you read the failing hours by Sara Ney. It is the second in a college-sport-romance series, but they are interconnected standalones and this series is one of my favourites and I totally feel that it deserves more hype.

Josh and hazel guide to not dating!- for grumpy sunshine
The Simple Wild is an amazing grumpy x sunshine 💓
Honestly, I'm Totally Faking It by Amanda Gambill for a grumpy x sunshine!! Such an underrated book.
I love the OTH sweater!! Keith 💔
I know I'm so incredibly late but I would recommend When in Rome by Sarah Adams for grumpy/sunshine
Under the stars by Laura Pavlov was a great grumpy x sunshine romance
I would die to see you read By A Thread by Lucy Score. I didn't love Things We Never Got Over too but this book was amazing.
Please do love triangle trope toooo
I recommend the book "Ramsay" by Mia Sheridan.
Another second chance hockey romance is The Enforcer by Avery Keelan!
Grumpy sunshine Rec: “Show me the way” or “Give me a reason” by A.L. Jackson
Grumpy/sunshine trope recc: Slightly Dangerous by Mary Balogh
"As a yee-haw myself" lolll. also, I'm sure you've told us on a video before, but what concealer brush do you use?
it's a sigma angled top concealer brush!
grumpy sunshine rec: don't go baking my heart by n.g. peltier
Do you maybe have one of the best sweater collections? ❤ love the colour of the Texas sweater
amazing, kisses from bahia blanca (aguante olimpo)
Grumpy sunshine: The Favor by Suzanne Wright
Grumpy/sunshine rec: Charlie Sunshine by Lily Morton
I put a hold on Him in early May and where I currently am on the list, I won’t get to read it until November…😮 who the heck are all these people reading a MM hockey romance?? Is it cuz the Stanley cup playoffs are happening right now? 😆
You should read the top romance books of each decade.
If you want an angsty second chance romance All That Has Flown Beyond by Marina Vivancos is so good! There are lots of flashbacks and soooo much angst.

Grumpy/Sunshine rec: The Lightning Struck Heart by TJ Klune
Ughhhhh why did i not recommend you to read The King Maker by KR for this video 😭😭
Will you do the pregnancy trope.??
Again the magic was also underwhelming for me, like I really didn't get the feels for them to be together in the present
Boyfriend’s best friend or best friends brother.
How could you not include Love and Other Words???? that's the best of this trope
i only pick one book to reread for these
I enjoyed funny feelings but loved the co-op! I'm with you on this one ;)
