This is the most "typical" African Grey video I've seen on this channel. Dancing with some singing, comfortable exploring on the ground, anything new = "Is it going to kill me?!?!?". It's great to see you work with an untrained/not desensitized Grey since I've always had to compare my bird to your other more adjusted and less fearful birdies. They are so smart which keeps them alive but it makes them some wary of everything new.
That moment when Bean stretched soooo far so he can touch the target stick with the tip of his tongue is quite funny!

I could watch animals eat all day!! I think it’s a sign of compassionate people that we just enjoy seeing animals enjoy themselves and being well taken care of. Seriously you could upload a 15-minute video of just the birds eating breakfast and I would watch every second.

I had a Sun Conure named Sunshine. She wasn't quite a year old when I brought her home. I trained her with just repetition. I never thought to use a clicker.
Unfortunately, my home situation and life changed drastically and I couldn't take care of her anymore.
I found a lady that had other birds like mine and I gave Sunshine to her. Last I heard, Sunshine is doing great and she's healthy and happy.
The work you do is with those birds is fascinating to watch.

When you where doing the crate training with bean and you brought Bondi out the whole vibe changed really quickly.

Maybe you can find a place that rescues birds near you where you can volunteer and learn about how to care for them.

I love you, and your energy! Please dont take this the wrong way, but i feel as though when your hubs popped in the energy changed in the training, possibly bc of the noise. So it took a little longer for mister beautiful bean to reduce in anxiety, and when the beautiful pinky came i think the sounds of hubs being occupied and busy was distracting. I dont know. Your absolutely the expert, and respectfully i was hoping he'd be mindfull and let you finish!. But thats just my opinion.
I totally agree with you on this. I found him distracting as well. All the noise in the background bothered me so it had to bug the bird. I kept thinking please go away please go away lol.
Yes, true, prob. slowed the task, however, desensitizing is another task Sir Bean is working on. Learning new things with life going on around him is an important skill too.

I watched your other video why cockatoos make terrible pets. I completely agree with you. I own a Galah. I have noticed that Galah's have a preference for men. I hand raised mine and he intentionally tries to hurt me or attack me. I own a pet store so he has been exposed to thousands of people. A man can walk in and his energy will instantly change to calm and loving right after attacking me. He will let any man pick him up. That is not the case for women with him.

My cockatiel absolutely 💯 ❤ 's bread he would do anything for it! Its his FAVORITE thing in the whole world! He don't like treats except for millet and he eats a seed diet I can't get him to eat anything except for human food yes I know its really bad but im trying he is afraid of everything but he is eating banana finally woohoo! But anyways I was wondering if I could get you birdie bread recipe so that my cockatiel can eat a healthy birdie bread instead of a not so healthy bread that he dose unfortunately LOVE!! 😢

I just goten 2 budgies (male and female) for around three weeks now. They have gotten used to me being in the same room with me and when I changed their food and water they don't freak out anymore, but I want to be able to let them out and I want an actual bond with them. What can I do?
Awesome video! Gave me an insight on my own training. When you gave Bean the last treat he scraped his beak along the kennel. When my Senegal does this he is being aggressive (kinda got the same vibe from Bean). So should “click/treat” be continued after getting the scrape since it was right before the touch? Could this lead to aggression on cue?
Can't speak for Senegals, but when our grey does this he's usually just cleaning his beak. He especially likes to do this on people's shoulders after eating messy foods like banana.
Has Sir Bean ever been re-homed yet ??? If not I would like to talk to you about possibly giving him a great and highly experienced forever home…

The birds don’t stay in the house , they are either in the garage or the outdoor aviary, her parents has an outdoor aviary too for when they stay there .they come in the house for training, as far as I’ve seen the birds rarely stay in the house for extended periods of time .

I believe they have said they wouldn't get another tocan as they are difficult to care for in captivity

Hi my name is Dave I've been watching you with bean and I have a question well let me start from the beginning my wife brought home an af Grey 2 years ago he is 14 years old the moment he saw me no one else could touch him he will send you to the hospital for stitches what can I do I like birds but he can't be around anyone but me I get an I love you dance every time I take him out but no matter what I do he doesn't want to be near anyone else but me what too do? Me and my wife can no longer get along so we are splitting up and I don't want the bird because I will be traveling a lot and she will not give him to anyone rock and hard place any suggestions thanx Dave

This might not be a popular comment here, but there is a lot of forcing going on here. Just plopping another bird in the other birds space when you’ve forced the training subject onto that new object that they were afraid of isn’t good technique. One of those birds could have been injured, I know it’s worst case but not recognizing what you did threatened the training subject could have been really bad.
