the high-pitched ping he makes is hilarious. The cat meows are also great. Sounds like he imitates lots of random household sounds. Absolutely fascinating bird.
I can't understand what he's saying. Every other CAG I've heard, including mine, does a much better job. I listened to a Japanese speaking Grey once and could understand the pronunciation of every word. Of course, the translation was lost on me, but I understood the pronunciation.
Reminds me of my friends grey... he drank and cursed all of the time.. so my friends grey started to imitate the bad words lol. Walk in and have the parrot tell u to fuck off lol its funny as shit!
The noise he makes at 1:55 is a sound I have heard from a lot of African Greys, including one owned by a friend of mine. It can be made at a much higher volume than this, and usually seems to express irritation or protest.
Our parrot is a 15 year old male. We got him very young. We had to syringe feed him when we first got him. Our advise is to let the bird come to you. They require a lot of your time and attention. A good book on the subject is "Guide To A Well-Behaved Parrot" by Mattie Sue Athan. Give him time and good luck.
Mine can be the same way sometimes. Other times he'll just start saying stuff on his own but will really get going if I participate too...but it's not nearly as often. I can even just go in my kitchen, which has a huge serving window he can see me from, and he'll start blabbing :P
OMG, my CAG is just like that! "(A closet talker) I got him from a guy who rescues abused parrots, 17 years old and they guy said he only knew a few words. Well I recorded him when I left the house for an hour and he does all kinds of sounds, words, and even says entire sentences!!!
my AG wont talk if someone who doesnt live here is Visiting..She does the UPS truck sounds complete with the beeping when they back up...amazing arent they? :)
i forget to add she's been with us since she was 5 weeks old..23 years. even though we finished hand feeding she is not what you call cuddly, you can handle her when she feels like it .She picks up new things all the time
haha yh my ringneck does the same he dosent talk too much when im in the room. But he talks and makes all kinds of noises and sounds and says a few words haha. Good camera footage on the sly there ;) nice video
this is soo funny... your birds makes no similar sounds that my african grey makes, yet, my boy knows these sounds are made by another grey!!! they are sooo smart!! i have to watch my boy, as he now likes to walk around on the floor!!! does yours?
Mine wont talk when im in the room either until I found a toy it likes! I gave him a toy rattle one day because he was heavily excited when he grabbed my pill box. He hangs around upside down throwing and shaking the rattle and saying everything he would normally say alone lol.
My buddies bird is the same way. If you're in the next room he will exchange calls and noises with you for hours but come into his sight....complete silence. Until you begin walking away, once you're back is turned and you are leaving he starts right back up even if you're still in the room. So strange.
Ours does the ups truck backing up complete with beeping. She does a mean Fart and laughs hysterically after, a million other noises .. Aren't they great? Ours is 23
awe!!! hes so precious!!!! love him! oh ... I think I heard a swear!!😳lol love the kitty kitty call. did you get the cats after the bird?? just wondering he sounds just like a cat ..
Cool so the cats OK with the bird?? Sorry just curious lol... Very wonderful noises BTW I want to get an African grey real bad my hubby won't let me. Or a cockatoo.. Lol
That Bird has a dirty beak! lol Really, if you have a cussing Parrot, you need to let us know, as some people would prefer not to teach their Parrots how to cuss.
My African Grey Parrot and other birds love to watch other African parrots on youtube. George at www.tastethewind.BlogSpot.com He loves to mimic their sounds too. LOL
My Gracie has recently started clucking t0 me and started putting her mouth to my fingers and "loving me". She is a rescue bird and knows I love her unconditionally. Why is she doing this? She never bites me, she loves me. I have recently retired and am able to spend more time with her. What does this mean?
African Grays are the best mimic Parrots bust also Most Shyest. Our African Gray Hamish won't stop talking but as soon as a stranger comes in he just asks for his cover. It's funny because soon as you say goodbye he tells them to be good BYE. Then he is back to singing and shouting Hamish until he asks for his cover for bed at 8:30pm every night Good night see you in the morning. ☺ If you sit and repeat on a daily basis. No noise in back ground, he will say what ever you want or what he picks up him self. Good luck 👍

Unique vocalizations, and I have 4 African Congo Greys in the room fascinated trying to mimic!
Wished that you would have warned about the cussing tangents!
Love greys! We had one named Tattoo! He was so cute- miss him
wow! One of the worlds most amazing creatures for sure. How they manage to get such exact imprints of sound from real events is totally surreal.
Reminds me of my friends grey... he drank and cursed all of the time.. so my friends grey started to imitate the bad words lol. Walk in and have the parrot tell u to fuck off lol its funny as shit!
There is a bunch of the grey cussing can't remember his name.. really funny.
ruby
He hits the nail on the head with his sounds for cats, faucets, bottles/jars, soda cans, and people..... and then... "chirp, chirp, chirp" xD
The noise he makes at 1:55 is a sound I have heard from a lot of African Greys, including one owned by a friend of mine. It can be made at a much higher volume than this, and usually seems to express irritation or protest.
I like how instead of making a REAL bird noise, he just says "chirp chirp"
Box Head how smart is he??:0 seriously lol
@@daisyelena9366 very smart and I can hear him say nana
My grey went through a period where she'd say the word "tweet" in a sarcastic tone.
Lol he stops suddenly at 6:40 and then is just like "phew", Lol the danger passed
Before he says phew he says ready. That's what it sounds like. And the pause in between ...lol

Thank you. They are really neat birds.
Awhh Beautiful & clever ,my baby corky is listening .x
I love how the voice sounds just like the owners saying ..' no!'
Yes. He lives with four cats so he does cat sounds. He meows, calls kitty kitty kitty, and lots of other sounds.
Growing up, my family had an African Grey. I play this sometimes as background noise :)
Mine can be the same way sometimes. Other times he'll just start saying stuff on his own but will really get going if I participate too...but it's not nearly as often. I can even just go in my kitchen, which has a huge serving window he can see me from, and he'll start blabbing :P

Mamin Riza We feed Harrison's high potency formula.

That Bird has a dirty beak! lol
Really, if you have a cussing Parrot, you need to let us know, as some people would prefer not to teach their Parrots how to cuss.
He learned that on the street.
As smart as this bird is, you might as well have a 5 year old child at your house...
But children are irritating, birds are wonderful! 😂
I ❤️ these African greys
Should leave the radio or TV on when you are not around.
Like we did with our CAG, started to do the radio station jingle complete with 'the bear' ( local radio station name) he even does the McDonalds tune.
And he bites alot like whenever you put your finger through the cage he bites your finger
My African Grey Parrot and other birds love to watch other African parrots on youtube. George at www.tastethewind.BlogSpot.com He loves to mimic their sounds too. LOL
How old is he???
He is 18 years old
I think the bird is bored witless.

My Gracie has recently started clucking t0 me and started putting her mouth to my fingers and "loving me". She is a rescue bird and knows I love her unconditionally. Why is she doing this?
