The quantum state of the enchantments in this deck is wild: Sagas sac themselves, Blessing needs a sac outlet, Doom foretold needs sac fodder, Calix needs enchantments that stick around, except for his ultimate which needs them in the graveyard. The fact that you were turning the 2/1 harpy into an o ring helped illustrate this issue.
It's a shame that the only good G enchantment deck right now is Bogles :/. Was looking forwards to brewing an enchantress deck, but whilst we have engines there's a lack of good anti-aggro. The pay offs are a bit better, but not quite on the level of The Eldest Reborn (best the sea is a bit too expensive for my taste).
Hey Seth! I just want to say thank you for the amazing budget deck (WG auras), which I got in both paper and arena (with a few edits, including cutting some shock lands and setessean champions and putting in the bird that makes auras cheaper) and it still wins about 95% of the time, so thanks!
How exactly were you dead at 17:20? You had one more turn to draw into a Wrath (even had the scry land to dig!), plus you had the saga popping off next turn. I hate Nissa just as much as the next guy and think she borders on broken, but you had an out, my dude!
I mean that and he had infinite doom foretolds too -- oppo can't sac the lands to it. :( he just got super tilted. They would have had to sac the paradise druid and then nissa. It was sad to see him scoop there
It seems like you might want some Wolfwillow Hallows as an Enchantment to ramp (perhaps switching Kaya's Wrath to Shatter the Sky so you can ramp into it?) It seems like Treacherous Blessing is a tad too hard to get rid of at times so perhaps shave 1 or 2? I've found Treacherous Blessing with Esper Doom an issue sometimes against UW Control when they keep countering my means to get rid of it. Elspeth's Nightmare is a potential option to fight Uro decks as all three chapters can be relevant if they're running Reef/Paradise Druid. It also hits Kroxa decks pretty decently as they usually run some small creatures and noncreatures. I used to run it in Esper Doom but I've hit a glut of UW+-B Control and Mono-Red which it's pretty meh against. Regardless, this is pretty sweet and I love Doom Foretold decks, so I might try this out after I get some more Calixes
It’s sad that Calix wasn’t able to deal with Nissa before they untapped around 25:00. Sometimes the reliance on Sagas and sacrifice-able enchantments is a drawback here
@@petrie911 I was mistaken, and thank you. @@catdreaming6004 I'm wrong and Tim's right--you can cast the adventure without paying mana cost. Opponent must simply have chosen not to, intentionally or not.
@@petrie911 So... I guess opponent punted, or had some kind of plan in mind that relied on Calix not ulting then and there. Ambitious if it's the later.
Some of these matches really hit home for why I do not think Treacherous Blessing is a card that should be played. It's either a slightly upside Sign in Blood or a card that drains 1/3rd of your life by itself, all for one more card for one more mana. I'd honestly rather play Foreboding Fruit if I was that in need of card draw in black, even if the plan is to sacrifice it for slight value.
It is a bit worrying that we have a ton of ways to get rid of it and still died to it sometimes. If our deck couldn't get around the drawback, imagine how bad it is for decks that don't have Doom Foretold, Vraska and Calix.
What about bind of the titans saga instead or with birth of meletis? It mills top 3, you can gain life and then return a creature or land from your graveyard. May be to slow and the wall creature does help with chump blocking.
Same. Actually, his audio has become pretty insufferable in my opinion. It's like he's no longer human and has been compleated to be the ultimate obnoxious radio DJ.
What exactly is the advantage of killing the opponents Ashiok in their upkeep instead of just my own main phase? I feel like giving a blue deck an additional untap isn't what one wants to do. Also seeing the Casualties of War against the Nissa was immensly satisfying. Putting a ramp deck from 10 mana back to 3 with one card, delicious.
If the control deck has mana up it's often better to wait until the opponent's upkeep to try to interact, so if they do have a counter than at least they have to spend the mana during their turn, which hopefully makes it harder for them to do things (or leave up more mana again the next turn). On the other hand, if the opponent is tapped out, then it's often just better to kill it during your turn, since there's no risk of a counter.
At 17:06 you could have traded the zombie into paradise druid then forced nissa sac because doom foretold would only leave nissa and you'd draw and get a blocker
@@michaelsander2878 And then they would have escaped Uro again. With Seth literally not being able to survive casting a spell anything would have been lethal, because at best the zombies would have to chump Uro so opponent would be gaining life and drawing cards. Even if Lilliana ultimated I don't think there was a way to win that match. If opponent played a Krasis for 1 it was over.
Hmm, maybe it was an early concession. We can't cast any sells and our opponent goes up to seven from the two Uro triggers, and we can't really minus Liliana until she is at least at five loyalty, since without her we can't win the game (since we can't cast any more spells). I guess I should have stuck it out for another turn or two just to see.

Hello, Saffron! Please try to create a pioneer, in this style of sagas and leylines with the starry field of nyx.
Because the OP just gets to double regrow the two best threats in their graveyard, and that probably leads to the end of the game a lot easier than going for exiling them. The REAL question is why didn't Seth exile the bigger cavalilier... Like, I have no idea why he did that.
That's a tough situation. If we kill the Cavaliers our opponent gets back some unbeatable stuff from the graveyard (especially Krasis). As far as killing the smaller one, it was the untapped one so getting it out of the way let us attack with Aphemia that turn. I felt like our only way of winning was to try to go into aggro mode, and since we have a stream of 2/2's for chump blocking there really isn't much difference between a 5/6 and a 6/7.
tbh think I would've rather seen bant with calix and danse of the manse. more of a staxy game with the sagas and things like banishing light/conclave tribunal. Rampage of clans into calix ulti is also juicy.
I feel like a big fix to this deck is to actually play the archon main board. You don't have much kill power against the Nissa decks, and the ramp decks will ALWAYS out last you. Plus archon won't actually hurt your aggro matchup, as everything has lifelink and it's a 3/4. Kaya's wrath also seems like a tall ask in the 3 color Mana base when you have access to shatter the sky. Overall, the deck IDEA seems super sweet and fun, but I do feel their are some flaws in your current build. Otherwise it's a great video! Keep up the good work!
Why does Seth keep scooping prematurely? At 17:20 and at 1:23:20 he scoops when he still has plays to make... like, come on Seth. Your Liliana has a -4 ability.
Wouldn't Shatter the Sky be better? Just because of colour screw in game 1; but also it's unrealistic to expect to hit BBWW consistently by even turn 5, whereas Birth fixes WW just fine
Kaya's Wrath might be to ambitious for the mana. Not giving the opponent a card and sometimes gaining life is nice, but that might not be enough upside to make it worthwhile.
