At 70, maybe i'm just beginning to unravel life, finances, and shit. Not having a STEM background, i've come to better understand, in vastly changing economic landscapes, without a strong math background, the best i can do is to sell, whether it be insurance, real estate, or burgers. These young men of the hood have been betrayed by a benevolent form of racism, wherein the lowest levels of the Maslow Hierarchy are addressed, leaving the upper levels adrift. Is it no wonder then that young warriors struggle in vain to achieve a meaningful life?
Hi love what your doing. I'm a 69 year old white female. I cry when i see this video i was born i 1951 i grew up in thr Brownsville project's till i was 19 I LIVED ON rockaway ave. I'M IN N.C NOW. KEEP IT UP YOU YOUNG MEN BE SAVE
I love that there are people who are looking to share others' personal stories through docs like these. Here is a neat quote that I came across on +CJ Stone's profile: "The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes." - Marcel Proust
My great grandparents grew up poor and ended up making a decent life for themselves. One of my grandmothers lines that she said was, "just because you are poor doesn't mean you have to be dirty." First thing i thought of when I saw that apartment. How you maintain your living quarters says a lot about your self discipline and work ethic.
I was living right there were they filmed, i can tell you living in Brownsville is HARD really HARD!!! people there have to live like pigs in a sty,i hope someday the government do something for the good people that lives there
The first school I taught at was at Watkins and Pitkin. I didn't last long, but I at least had the opportunity to leave; many obviously don't, and that must be difficult. Keep at it, fellas. If everything works out well, maybe you can stay right there and make the community a little bit of a better place to live.
Life Is hard never give up on your self if you keep your mind On god keep your heart WITH god he is my strength and my salvation.if you think no one cares he does.😍
sucks, these guys are obviously good people.
