Watching this just to support the channel. I think most of your constituents are familiar with vehicle general repairs, and that has left your view count looking rough! This’ll be one of those slow burners. Might end up being super popular, and it might bring in new fans though!
Great video! One more tip I’d like to offer. When you take the new caps off the U joint to install them, I like to add one pump of grease to each cap. Then use my pinky finger to spread the grease around in the cap. It helps hold the new needle bearings in place and they’re less likely to fall out of place
I would insert the bearing from the bottom first, using a clamp to hold it in place. Then use a press to compress them together. With that said, of course you did not do anything wrong. Great stuff.
Quality video! For most people who work on their own stuff this is definitely something a lot of us already know. But how simple you kept it, how informative, and just overall the quality was fantastic and this will be a video I will be saving and showing lots of friends who ask for help with this type of stuff!
Great video for those that are learning the basics just past bumpers n such like myself. Good info for home maintenance or trail fixes thanks for this.
Thanks for the tutorial and tips! I am not too mechanically inclined but I think I could do this job now. Might take a little longer than 15 minutes but a job that's done is a job that's finished.
Good video. I always put a little dab of grease in the cups on the non grease able u joints, little harder to get clips in place but the excess will squeeze out.
Matt keep up the great work you guys are awesome! I’d love a video series like this of all the Cherokee maintenance and repairs in a shop and then a series where it’s all repairs and maintenance on the trails. Love the old how to vids but would love to refreshed ones to I’d watch them all.
I changed many u-joints at the ranch, many times with a vise, a short piece of pipe larger than the caps, a short piece of pipe smaller, and a hammer. I used the old caps to drive the new ones into the yokes, by using the vise like a press.
Great video one more thing to add they are usually balanced (driveshaft/axleshaft) so it’s best to mark each side with a punch or paint marker so that it goes back in the same orientation and doesn’t create a small vibration…. Maybe not as noticeable on an off-road rig that’s not seeing highway speeds but a daily/weekend warrior could be noticeable
Cool tip demonstrated by Tom Woods about 25 yrs ago at Slickrock Campground in Moab was for removing the u-joint from a driveshaft. After the clips are removed, just hit the yoke next to the cap with a hammer and the u-joint caps will walk out… no bench or matching of socket sizes to the u-joint. 😮 This is done holding the driveshaft in the air.
I was hopeful for some tips on the inner most joint on a double carden. For a few weeks (more off than on), I've been fighting with a front driveshaft for an early bronco and the outer two went fine but the inner one is a real bear to get at.
@bleepinjeep it's a joke I did it once when I was younger and really strong but then again maybe I'm remembering wrong cuz I'm so old laugh out loud great video thank you have a good evening
Hay everyone Good Sunday morning. ☀️ Back to basics 🔨🛠️🪛 Hay everyone Jesus Christ in your heart and life is the answer ✝️🙏 through this old evil world
They are 10 comments right now and 6 of them are SPAM/Bots. Whats going on? Why are they posting on UA-cam videos? I assume they are doing this to others I’ve not checked.
I enjoy your videos. They make it insightful for me and they’re great for my dyslexic helper. When he shows up 😂
Old School BleepinJeep content right here. This is why I came to the party in the first place.

I thought I was watching a throwback video for a second.. Miss this BleepinJeep content tremendously!

I saved this to my watch later file because I know the day will eventually come that I need to watch this again. Thanks Guys!
You’re welcome! Good idea!
The explanation of how to do this job was perfect. I've done quite a few u joints but I learned some new tricks today. Thanks!

Glad it was helpful!

No one makes a better how to video than @BleepinJeep
Bleepinjeep Chanel got to be the most informative information on YT👍

Can't tell you how many times I've done this on the side of a trail.
Thanks for the tutorial and tips! I am not too mechanically inclined but I think I could do this job now. Might take a little longer than 15 minutes but a job that's done is a job that's finished.
That's the spirit! You can do it!
Good video. I always put a little dab of grease in the cups on the non grease able u joints, little harder to get clips in place but the excess will squeeze out.
Be careful not to blow the seal!
I’ve always used toothpicks to clean the grooves and carried a 9 inch C clamp 🗜️ for emergencies 😊. But I love videos 😊
I’ve had to do just about everything except a U-joint and always wondered how it worked. Great video! Thank you!
You're welcome!

Thanks for the lesson.
I found this video very informative and helpful. Thank you and keep the great content coming. 👍🏻

THANKS FOR ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO, EMILE FROM CT.

Ive never seen a balanced axleshaft but could be some out there, but for a driveshaft, yes you're right that would be a good idea!

Seen that too, although it only works on a good non rusty, non beat up joint.
A return to your old videos is nice, and fixing your own junk is easy, finding the time or modovason to do so is hard
Lol, do we need to start a motivation Monday series?
@bleepinjeep maby :)
Great job. Thank you 😊
Glad to help!
Awesome video
Easy! Thank you!

Check the description for a double cardan how to video
I either dry fit or use 680 retaining compound. Won’t have to worry about caps rotating and causing wear
This is so awesome! Humility and pride, what a mix!
This is about the third u joint vid I’ve seen in a coupe days time. Still hope I don’t have to do one any time soon
It becomes second nature after you do a few
Awesome 👌 👏
Quick question: Am I supposed to check to make sure I dont lose any of those needle bearings? Not sure if you mentioned that…
Always check to see if the needle bearings have moved.
You will know if one slipped out if the cap or clip doesn't seat.
What brand of u-joints do you recommend? For a pro such as yourself.
Spicer, or Yukon superjoints if you need absolute strength in an axle shaft. They are very strong but need greased every trip
I dig it
Nice.
"...will have a u-joint at the front axle..." Laughs in CV (we won't even mention swivel balls!)
If you have a ball joint press, I've found that they can be easier
For on the trail repair sometimes if your man enough you can just hold the shaft in your hand and take the hammer and smack it and it'll fall apart
I've seen it done but apparently I'm not man enough for that.
@bleepinjeep it's a joke I did it once when I was younger and really strong but then again maybe I'm remembering wrong cuz I'm so old laugh out loud great video thank you have a good evening
Beware of the non-forged vices
easy to snap the jaw or body in half.
Do not expect your u joints to come apart so easy .
Yep. That's how you do it.
🤙
😀😀😀😀😀
😎🤙
Back in the day you simply started the vehicle and shifted from drive to reverse. If it clunked they needed replaced.
She got the Drive and I got the Shaft.
How do I change a broken heart?
It's chemistry. One bond didn't work. Know there are other chemistry bonds. Hang in there

It's a rampant problem throughout all social media platforms.
I have no idea what their purpose is, nobody can seem to figure it out. You delete them and 5 more pop up.
Classic 🤌🏻.
