- 5 Lug conversion PART 7 - LAST OF THE 5 LUG CONVERSION SERIES.
Complete video on converting front to an SN-95 Brake setup. This video is LONG. Because it's complete from teardown to installation and the troubles I had. This was a 3-4 day on off late night project, I crammed into the shortest video possibe.
In this video I:
-Remove front suspension
-Install new Moog lower ball-joints for sn-95 spindles
-Install spindles
-Install Timken hubs
-Install front springs with deadly compressor
-Install brake lines
-Bench bleed the master cylinder
-Install MC with conversion kit lines
NEXT VIDEO THE CONVERSION IS DONE AND BACK ON THE GROUND! STAY TUNED!
Awesome vid. Father and son.future foxbody fanatic. Brings back memories
Thank you! He's my little shadow
You're a true youtube creator, just a genuine moderately edited vid. I clicked on the video because I'm trying to work out to to convert a ford ranger to sn95 spindles and I still watched the whole installation simply because of how satisfying it was.
One of the best comments Ive ever gotten. Much appreciated!
good job buddy....learning as you go... im in the same boat..
I used washers nothing wrong with it when my ball joints go bad I will put 94/95 ball joints in, LMR also sells spacers also on their website they go over the brake conversion they show that the passenger side you have to use the fitting, Id of been in the same boat had I now seen that, love the videos they are helpful on some of the things I am doing on my 92 Coupe.
Yessir, nothing wrong using the spacers, I just chose to get new ones. Glad the videos help!
Totally inspiring. I found LMR has a front spring install tool made by Maximum Motorsports, it bolts onto the lower control arm. I used Steeda lowering springs and the tool just worked. Also I ran a chain through the spring for safety, and even then stood 3 ft away! Great use of the rental spring compressor very cool it worked for you, you've amazing patience.
Thank you sir. Patience is not my forte lol I have very little. These videos help me with...if not I can cut out a lot of cussing. Appreciate the comment.
Thank you for making this video. I have been looking for this on UA-cam for a while.
Yessir! Glad it helped, why I keep doing these. Stay tuned for much more to come.
Great vid dude. So raw, so honest. Keep up the rawness. Will subscribe.
Hell yeah man! I strive to just be real.
You may already have a comment about this but I can't say enough good about the Maximum motorsports spring perch! It is a life saver. No compressing springs and it makes it so painless.
+aaronmussat - I found about these before the second round, thought about making my own but your right. Would have saved me big time! Next time around in will get these
Hey, I like the videos. Well done and good technical advice.
Very nice video. I liked the amount of detail that you included. It definitely looks like you have a future gear head in your son.
Thank you sir! I hope so
So I've been binge watching......great presentation....thanks for taking the time to video this....
You bet man, appreciate the comment.
I've been watching every video since the begging of this build. and nothing is better then watching a true beast coming back to life. Working on my own project for my 99 mustang gt and this just gives more ideas and very helpful. Can't wait to see it running. Amazing work!
Sweet! glad you've watched since day 1. So so much has changed on the car in just 6 months when I bought it back in October.
Great great video bud gonna help me a lot in my 5 lug swap
Glad to hear that!
Great video man I loved it and it definitely helped with my 5 lug conversion. Thankyou and I’ll definitely be staying tuned for more videos of your badass fox 👌🏼
I can’t believe your spindle just lifted off that one side. I’m smashing on my spindle on my 85 with extra bofh and it won’t pop off.
been watching your build video's has been inspiring me to finish my 89 gt. i went with the upr k-member/coilover kit up front but i forget to let lmr know while placing the order i was going sn95 spindles/brakes so ended up just used 3 grade 8 washers per side if an when i need to replace the balljoints ill replace them with sn95 balljoints
The ball joints we're a bit of a pain but that rental kit IMO made it easier and is almost madatory. The stacked washers work fine. Never heard of issues doing that. In my case the joints we're in bad shape to begin with.
Love your little boy!
Thank you
Just mentioning it because nobody else commented but the fitting difference in the front is normal not a mistake and is expected when making the swap.
Wheel fitment? I noticed the wheels seem slightly forward now
HOUSE OF DULA No I was referring to the brake Line fittings.
Gotcha
Why is everything easier on youtube? I swear, every how-to video makes the job look easy, then when I go to remove a press fit bearing, seatbelt bolt, or ball joint, the shit is practically welded in!
Power of editing! lol The struggle is real I promise, sometimes I leave it in, other times its just editing out the cuss words and throwing wrenches lol
They make a special spring tool just for the mustang. I made my own. It bolts to the lower control arm and you set the spring on it and use a floor jack to push it in. Maximum motorsports makes one. $22
Your kid is hilarious man lmaooo "what are you doing, bud?" "Well I'm fxckin sitting here...."
lol Yeah you should hear him now, hes 9 now, hes a quick witty smart @$$! He still cracks me up daily.
@@HOUSEOFDULA I bet! I love watching your videos I've been watching these older ones cause i'm doing the 5 lug swap with those cadillac brembos, any suggestions for wheels?
that already made your car look so much better dude im jealous!
+303blazr - Thanks. Definitely looks way better, its on all 4s now wait till toy see the car, completely changed the look!
Mike Dula Great work, take a nap
Mike Dula did you ever put the explorer intake manifold on the 86 Fox I did not see?
Not yet. Tackling all this work, getting it to stop and handle before adding any power.
Haha, man I was beat from this. Im getting old.
make sure when you do a 5 lug swap all wheel disc you upgrade that master cylinder.Bought a fox mustang with upgraded all wheel disc and factory master. The pedal is spongy and doesnt flow enough fluid,so I'm going with the 93 cobra 1"bore.
Yup. Thats what Im running.
Awesome project, thumbs up for the time and effort.
Gracias sir.
And justice for all....hell yeah....
Great Video Mike! I usually pop the lower ball joint before removing the spring. Just loosen the nut (I give it a 1/8" gap or so) and smack the spindle from both side of the ball joint or use the pickle fork. Once it's popped I'd continue as you did.
Good to know! Thing was a bear to release, had to use the pickle fork. Seals we're trashed anyway.
Best video on install
Appreciate it man!
I love your videos so much they are so entertaining to watch! But springs were such a pain in the butt! I had to get a spring compressor and it took me 3 hours to do both sides of my 1985 Capri!! Poor car was dented bad in the quarter when I got her so I had to get stock ride springs or it rubs till I can get the dent pulled:(
Great Video man. Keep up the good work.
+Frederick Gilmore - Thank you sir
ok, i watched the whole vid. nice work, nice kit
Haha, thanks for sticking with me! Used a pickle-fork because they we're being replaced anyway with new ball-joints. Those things will tear up the seals etc..
no man, you got a hammer there for carpentry. BALL PEEN is whatchya need lol. good work. helpful info. my son hung with me in the shop too. he's now 24 and pulls wrenches with me often. my favorite helper.
If you do the springs again, make your own tool like the Maximum Motorsports spring tool for fox body's. Super easy! Made mine for $3-4
Thought about it! have the steel, should have. It was a PITA.
Those grey jack stands have been recalled
I checked even though these are gray they are not the harbor freight "pittsburgh" jack stands
I'm in the middle of my own Fox body 5-lug swap for my Fairmont, so I was doing some research on how to title my video ahead of what I'm going to shoot Sunday, and a lot of your videos were coming up. I laughed to myself, because this is the first time I've heard of your channel, but you have a very similar thumbnail style to mine...so when I upload my next video I'm really, really, really going to look like I'm trying to rip you off. Luckily I'm taking a different route to the 5-lug swap & 4-wheel disc setup than you are. But I figured I'd reach out now ahead of time to try and hedge off anyone thinking I'm copying your stuff. Also looks like I know some reference videos I'll likely be coming back to! Consider me subbed. Loved the enthusiasm of your boy to help! haha!
We even have the same epoxy on our garage floors, and jackstands that the cars are sitting on. Oh my.
Hahaha, man its all good. I dont care at all, the more fox video content the better for everyone. Nothing that I do is all that proprietory anyway. Hell I'll subscribe and watch. The only time Ive ever cared is when someone from russia, china, etc literally re-uploads my video...this is a copyright claim youtube can take care of. But no...I appreciate the heads up! have at it man!
start bleeding process by start with the furtherest wheel from the master cylynder, and im sure you know u need help someone pumping the brakes up for you while you bleed, but start with the passenger side rear wheel first then driverside rear wheel next then front passenger then driverside last
Great video bro, really broke it down and helped me figure how to get the job done. Do you have any videos on ur rear brakes for the 5 lug conversion?
Glad it helped! Not "yet", I will for this new car. This car I bought the axle 5 lug and disc converted.
thanks a lot man
$130 so I don't have to stack up no telling how many expensive washers. This helps.
Um, your welcome. Hey, to each their own man, If you want the look of stacked washers go for it. Id just rather pay knowing I had a new, correct ball joint for the spindle.
I wish you could have POR-15 the lower control arm while you were there
+michael norwood - i should have, i can always go back but yeah man i had the paint and it was all right there!
Great video man, I may tackle this soon I don't know but man it's a lot of work lol.
+tony oliver - if i can do it anyone can lol its easier once you just dive in it.
***** well I will say one thing, watching this build definitely gives me some motivation.
Oh and you should do the sn95 e brake on video would be helpful! Thanks great vids
I had a short clip of the e-brake hookup I took out of the video. Mostly because its really specific to what your using in the rear. The e-brake cable hooks up just like stock. Difference for me was the brake cable's we're too short. I guess for 79-86 the e brake location was slightly more forward?? Instead of buying a longer cable and hassling with making it work with my rear brakes, I took the rod that connects to the ebrake handle and cables, took it off, and extended it by cutting it and welding in a steel rod. I was extended by about 2"
good job.
Gotta make sure to get the Blakes bred ;)
Pro tip cobra brake on the 04s are bigger and better, same rotors as other cobras
Hi, I just bought a game of 98. Look, those that are used are 94 95, do you think you can do the adaptation? what do you advise greetings from Culiacán Sinaloa Mexico good video
Welcome all the way from Mexico, glad to have you man! Yes the brake kit will work on your 98. The reason why foxbody guys use the 94-95 front spindles is because it matches the track width of a stock foxbody with stock K-Member. The kit will work on 94-03 mustangs!
House of Dula, did you not need to put new dust shields on it? I'm about to tackle this same job and your video really helped me feel more comfortable.
I did the poly bushings, and man are they harsh! Racecar use, yes. Street cruiser, no!
thanks mike !!
Can I send you my car so you can do this to mine lol! sick video man! would you be so kind to send me a parts list to do this?
Here is a copy of one I posted earlier...Its complete I think ;) other have asked me for this as well,
Sock booster. Which should be fine, but some guys do upgrade the booster. Read these, great sources for the swap. www.maximummotorsports.com/tech_front_susp_7993to9604_spindle.aspx www.fiveohinfo.com/performance/foxbody5lug-discbrake.html and vb.foureyedpride.com/showthread.php?39732-The-Ultimate-Four-Eyed-Fox-5-Lug-Conversion-Thread
For my parts list for the front only its this, but some depends on your year your converting.
- 1994, 95 front spindles, mine came with braided lines.
- 94/95 Lower ball Joints Moog. K8749
- PBR calipers or equivalent for any 13" rotor
- Brake pads for the rotors
- Manual brake control valve, you will need a way to control brake bias front to rear because the stock one is not gutted, but is only necessary if swapping to rear disc's also.
- 13" Rotors, I used stop tech lmr.com/item/PSR-8144PSP/94-04-Mustang-Cobra-Slotted-Front-Brake-Rotors
- Gut the stock distribution block (if going rear disc's as well), And cap with ford FRPP cap, or lmr.com/item/M2450A/Mustang-Brake-Proportioning-Valve-Plug
- Master cylinder - Popular to use 1" bore from a 93 Cobra but, I think the pedal is too firm and looking to swap a 15/16 lmr.com/item/LRS-2140D/1993-Mustang-Cobra-Brake-Master-Cylinder
- Brake line adapter for braided lines to stock firewall line LRS-2078HDW
- Depending on year you will need a brake line adapter / lines from the MC to the dist block. 97-93 lmr.com/item/MM-MMBAK3/87-93-Mustang-Brake-Line-Adapter-For-93-Cobra-Master-Cylinde
- Caster camber kit is likely needed but depends on the springs - to get it aligned properly.
That all I can think of, really once you start at it, you'll discover things I might be missing. Its not that hard!
Hey my man, where did you buy the calipers? great video thanks.
Whats up! Thank you, much appreciate it. I got them from LMR.com!
on LMR all of the kits say they are for 87 and up so how did you go about getting all the right parts for the 86. Theoretically, if I could just order the sn95 spindles and then find a brake kit for the sn95 spindles would that work?
Yes. Thats exactly right. All you need is SN95 spindles, and all these brake kits work. Same for my '79.
can you share the part numbers for the brake lines, calipers, and master cylinder thank you
I was really thinking about converting my fox to an SN95 conversion but I was reading that you would have to use 17 inch wheels or bigger to clear the calipers? I currently have 15 inch weld racing wheels so if I change to an SN95 I wouldn’t be able to use my 15 inch wheels?
Yeah, well, depends on the 15" wheel to be exact. Welds should clear though, I would think.
Excellent job man definitely looks like you had some fun. I’m doing my brakes now and was wondering how they’re holding up and have you laid into them hard to see what they can handle? Fade ?
Going on what now 3 years?? zero issues. No fading issues, nadda.
Thanks a lot I appreciate the good news about the brakes I just got home with my 1994 spindles from the junkyard. I love the occasional trip there but what was crazy was there were about 5 mustangs total in 4 junkyards. And the biggest of them had 2. I have one passenger bullitt caliper new and looking for the driver’s side. Ordering rotors in a little while.
What size is your wheel and tire combo. They look great.
98 Mustang Cobra
I used a long pry bar to get those springs in while putting a jack under the control arm
Great conversion video. I am getting ready to do the exact same swap here soon. Where did you buy your front brake kit? LMR is on back-order for a while.
Front brake kit was LMR, they should get some soon Id think! but you piece it together with parts from rock auto (or similar) if needed.
I wish I could find reasonable 94-95 spindles!
Don’t try and find just spindles, go try to find an entire 94-95 mustang for $1000 or less and part what you don’t use out. Because people are charging $700 for swaps nowadays
In fact I just bought a 94 GT car for $550 with good brakes and everything all the way around
@@fsub616 I got what I needed off at '95 mustang for $80 at LKQ yard in Houston...
You should not spin the bolts on the struts. They are concentric. You should only spin the nut(s).
I want to hang out with you! lol.. nothing sounds more fun than hanging out in the garage fixing up mustangs. Hey you seem like a guy who really knows his shit. If you were looking for a set of discontinued rims(preferably factory 2000 Cobra R, or Steeda Ultralites), where would you look first?
Come on! If you live near Texas ;) Man, for the rims, i dont know...ebay and craigslist I suspect. Im sure companies find and offer up factory wheels but your going to pay good $$ for them. FRPP used to sell them (cobra R's) directly, but are now discontinued.
mike car is looking better and better im getting jelous
Do you not need to use a 93" cobra brake booster when doing the 4 wheel disc conversion?
No, you dont HAVE to.
What’s clearance for wheels on these breaks
Did your master cylinder have a hole on the bottom of it? Mine is plugged in my fox. Want to be sure whats that for ?
Love you 86 I have an 85 I pulled out of mothballs it's a low mile car how do you post pics
Those are tiny brakes like 1970s . 15” caliper with 20” wheels bagged and tagged
Lemme know what 70's mass produced car ran 13" rotor! lol And Im assuming you meant 15" rotors, not "caliper"...and please say you didnt put a 20 on a fox mustang.
good video man ,am working on my notch back have a question did your struts fit on the snow spindles ,because I have a 92 4 cylinder and they dont fit they are a little wider, thank you
No they didn't. When I bought the monroe's for the front, they came with spacer plates to fill that gap, mine we're wide as well. I ended up keeping the plates and I put on the sn95 spindles I used them...
Did you have to switch to ‘87 and up struts, or can you use the ‘86 struts. I know there is a difference in the mounting tab thickness.
OMG put some shoes on that kid! After having a 3/8" long piece of welding wire cut out of my foot... nobody goes barefoot in my shop
Damn right, buddy! Nobody wearing flip-flops and/or shorts gets into my shop. Acid and torch burns on the legs aren't pretty. Ask me how I know...
Got a parts list?
What brake lines did you run the fox brakes the sn95 brake line end is thinner than the fox end
Haven't you ever heard of 2ft of chain , safest way to keep your teeth
I’m doing the same brakes I have 94-95 gt at this time but I will be upgrading to cobra ones my question is I only change out the master cylinder and keep the stock brake booster I’m think about the 93 cobra master cylinder
Yep. I would. That booster should work fine. No need to swap it unless you have issues with yours.
HOUSE OF DULA thank you for the response Did you set the push rod depth or was it the same length
Mine was adjustable so I used a digital caliper to measuer the hole in the master cylinder bore. I really dont recall but I think it was either spot on or needed to be brought out a hair.
HOUSE OF DULA ok thank you for your help 👍🏼
ok dula so did you have to buy the ball joint installer or was it a loan from a parts store, and I guess to use 13inch rotors you have to have sn95 spindles, I want to do this also because my turbo 351w at 160mph wont stop quickly need help.
I did. No way around it that I could tell. I did not buy it though, I rented it through AutoZone. And yes, the stock rotors due to the design limit them to 11". To go to 13 you have to move to an SN95, '94 or '95. '96 and up will work but will increase your front track width pushing the wheels out by about 1/2" per side.
ok thanks man
Goodness gracious! $80 ea. Balljoint + $100 Rental tool - $260 Vs. $31ea. Balljoint (Rock Auto) + $25 or less for Machine/Tire store to press out and in of ball joint, per side - $112?
well, the $100 rental tool was returned.
Shit use rock auto ball joints and you’ll probably crash when they fall apart.
Yeah I prefer Moog. Parts like that if not moog wear out too fast, and this is a job id rather do once. Not a part i'd skimp on money wise. 99% of everything else, if you watch my vids I go super cheap on!
is that the stock bottom end . 86 is flat top pistons no big cams
I havent cracked it open, but assuming so. But your right, these have flat top forged pistons, need to be careful with cam choice and check piston to valve clearance.
ball joints are a pain in the ass!
You bought it all those parts comes in one CV kit , you don’t use a one sn95
I have a question I just finished doing this and when I finished the job I realize the wheels were not Stright at all and had to start playing with the adjustment of the outer tie rod . Was that normal?
I also had to use like washers or shims for where the strut and the spindles bolt together. 94 spindles on a 86 gt .
It’s inevitable for the alignment of a car to go out of wack when dealing with the front suspension even when just taking the tierod off the knuckle/spindle. Idk the science, i just know what will happen from experience
Can you give me part numbers on where did you order them please
Where did you buy the splindes 94-95? I can't find them. Thank you.
Local clubs, facebook groups for mustangs, and facebook marketplace. Contact AJE, they I believe make aftermarket ones.
Ebay motors😊
What brake booster did you use? The cobra or stock one?
This is still stock one.
New to your channel. Did you ever go to coil over shocks?
No sir. An welcome to the channel! Glad to have you here. Viewers are loyal. No coil-vers on this car, will be doing coil overs on the 79 EcoBoost coupe project "EgoBruise"
I have the Russell Stainless Steel Brake Line hoses for the front and I'm having the same problem on the passenger side where do you get the brake line adapters and what size would I need
Wish I could answer this! I had a handful of adapters, and found one that worked laying around. In this case I would call LMR supprt and ask them, they should know and have it on the shelf....they deal with these conversions on a regular basis.
@mike dula. Can you postthepart numbers list for those of uslooki got upgradeour fox bodies with stopping power?
Not part numbers but a list at the least. Sent this to a viewer earlier. Hope it helps.
Whoo lets see if I can do this...Just finished editing a video Im uploading tonight, any LMR.com references Late Model Restoration lmr.com/1979-93-Mustang but MOST came from LMR some parts I cross referenced on amazon to see if I could save a buck
1. Complete 3.73 posi 8.8 rear end I sourced online used with rear discs and braided lines 200.00
2. Used sn95 (use '94 or '95) front spindles - 65.00
3. New Timken Hubs for the spindles (Amazon.com), 1994 mustang GT, 65 each i think
4. SVE lowering springs from LMR.com - 125.00
5. 1" bore 1993 Mustang Cobra Master cylinder from Amazon.com - 50 something bucks
6. 93 cobra Master cylinder to distribution block conversion from brake lines from LMR.com for 1986 mustang. 86+ Uses a 3 port to 2 port conversion from Maximum Motorsports.
7. Distribution block solid cap for gutting the dist. block and capping it LMR.com
8. Manual brake proportioning valve - SSBC - Mine came with rear end I bought.
9. All new crush washers for banjo brake line fittings, I bought 6, from LMR
10. Upper and Lower control arms tubular - Amazon
11. MOOG - Lower ball joints for 1994 Mustang GT
12. E-Brake cables came with my rear end as well
13. Struts - used the ones I bought prior to conversion, worked with the spacers monroe provided.
14. Gear oil for limited slip
15. Synthetic brake fluid DOT 3
16. And of coarse SVE calipers and StopTech rotors kit that came with braided lines again from LMR
17. FR500 wheels and tires, yet again from LMR.com :)
18. SN95 front caliper to spindle bolts, I didnt have and ordered from LMR or Amazon, cant recall.
This along with tool rentals and small stuff, brake cleaner, rubber gloves etc....Wasnt bad, I got a deal on the used stuff and the rear end with brakes was all from that buy. The front end I sources and bought separately. Feel free to ask if you need help.
Hey dude. Question? Now that you have been driving it for awhile how do you find it without the top isolators on front springs?
Its fine. No noticable noise but then again I didnt really drive it WITH the isolators much. Suspension is stiff but not back breaking by any means. My F150 rans more harsh than the mustang.
What size are the reducers for the brake line you used?
Cut them out with a grinder the ball joint that is.
How did you remove the spring compressor? I'm in the same process currently.
Very carefully! Its a PITA, If I remember correctly I had to lift out of the top strut tower.
Where you buy all? And can you list what you buy?
All from LMR. The description "should" have a complete list.
Which springs are you putting in? I am installing Ford B springs in a 1993 Mustang and its no fun at all.
I ended up running SVE lowering springs. Really like them. Ride is a bit stiffer, but not really that bad at all. Gave it a nice stance.
Real noob question but does the rotor only stay on by the wheel being tight?
The hub stays on only by the nut. Trust me, big nut and its very tight. The rotor (disk brake) is held on by the wheel lugs.
I have a question man, I'm replacing the rear end off a sn95 but it has no brake line. Can I use the same that are on the stock rear end?
Sn95 8.8 swap to 79-93 fox? Because mine didnt have SN95 rear drums, I cant tell you with 100% certainty BUT im almost positive the brake line fittings will be different. Youll have to get an adapter which will help because the SN95 axle is about 3/4" wider on each end.
does the hub baring haft to be torqued down that hard, just qurious bro, I thought it only had to be hand tight.
+Young Ladd - yes it does. The bearings are contained and flat (like a straight cylinder), not a tapered like bearing like youd find on a stock 86 where you hand tight it just to preload the bearings.
cool bro, look like you were having a hard time there but the only way your going to get done is get out there and do it.
I was cracking up with the thought that your were cranking it down like that, thinking they were only supposed to be hand tight.
but you got, I didn't know, so you said sealed ha.
I'm about to knock out the suspension on mine as well, but I got the arms with the ball joints pretty pressed, some kyb's, o/set bushings for the rack and some bump steers.
you should probably get some of those as well. helps bring your car back to its original geometry.
thanks for getting back.
oh yah last and not least, caster camber plates.
Heck yeah I was having a hard time lol, sometime I dont mind showing it, Im doing all this on a garage floor and not 18 any more, so I like to show it how it is. Bump steer is on the list, have yet to road race it, so I dont feel any even at high freeway speeds. It likely needs it, but at the same time I dont feel any negative effects yet without the bump steer kit. Caster camber plates however was a different story. I HAD to have those to get it aligned, stock plates we're nowhere close.
ya that suspension's a bear to tackle, I did a little work on a 91 I had back in the day, got an 88 now, just about to dive into it and start working on it.
not sure if I'll make that much vids but I'll post a few up dates.
I just want to get it done.
anyways I enjoyed the video, and I just subscribed to your channel.
you can get a quick peak of my 88 in my vids.
posted a quick pic on there with the rims I just got. it's blue just like yours, I think I'm going to stay with 4 lug don't feel like doing the five lug conversion. but I probably will go with disk in the back and do the axle gears and break con version all at once.
then also I like to get the control arms shocks, torque box reinforced my and some sub frames on there.
I might even go with another universal sway bay just to stability to the back.
alright bro I'll be looking forward to seeing your video's.
220 to 290 ft. Lbs. For SN95 wheel hub bearing with large nut, about 35 mm socket used.
What are you using for fuel management on your 5.0
Now im using a Microsquirt. First I converted my 86 to MAF, then went Turbo and used microsquirt. I have vids on all of this as well.
How much did this cost in total
All in all was around 1200, this is including spindles, timken bearings etc..
Where did you get the spindles??
Found them locally from craigslist or facebook marketplace. They are out there still. Cleaned min up and just painted them.
Question can anybody weigh in on this can I use the front factory foxbody A arm (control) arm with the 94-95 sn95 spindles for the 5 lug swap? I heard I could but wanted to confirm?
Yes. Thats what I did in this vid. You will just need a spacer for the ball joint.
@@HOUSEOFDULA okay I figured it out I eliminated the foxbody ball joint and am using 94-04 ball joint instead, so no need to mess with a spacers 🙂 thanks again
dang! i thought id probly know more than you mike about cars ? i guess you cant judge a person on looks lol
Not sure how to take that lol. Thanks?
***** did you know when bleeding the brake system you start with the caliper that furtherest from the booster and work your way back from furtherest wheel to closest? (Passenger rear 1st then driver side rear 2nd then passenger front 3rd then driverside front 4th
And dont have the car running when you have someone pumping up the brakes either, do it without the engine running
Yessir, I tried my mighty vac and as usual had issues...Finally used the two person method and the brakes are flawless. But as you'll see in an upcoming video the 1" might not be best. Pedal feel is a little too stiff for me.
Its hard as heck to get all the air out sometimes, might be a good idea to re- bleed em later on
Have you replaced your T-top weatherstrip yet
Yessir, check the video out on it.
where you get the spindles?
