Thanks David, and Lynn For this show. David is speaking on behalf of a thousand others who grew up without knowing who their birth fathers are. Caution however, there needs to be a way to filter the many "relatives" who will come out because Kimani has a bright future, and many "Georges" will want to be in that future.. all blessings to baby boy. My dad did my mum wrong, she passed away but why should I be concerned about him? We should be content with what we have, knowing an extended family doesn’t mean anything and won’t add any value to his life. He might even get more hurt to find out he’s in prison or a big criminal from a bad family. But might turn out ok if he’s only looking for his family

I now understand why God fought for this guy the many times the mother was tempted to get rid of him. God knew that someday Malaika would give this as a testimony on how she survived all this. Generally what I learn is that even when parents divorce let no parent prevent kids from getting along with the other parent cause at the end of the day the kids will come to question. Not unless it is such a scene like Malaikas …the rest parents should try letting the kids have access to both kids. Trying to picture the thoughts he has had about who the father is how he looks like it is just a lot ….Thank you Malaika for understanding your son and coming out to help him get his answers. This must have been a hard interview to do because of the magnitude of the issue that led to the creation of this family. Lynn you handled it s well and at no point did you let your biases, personal opinions affect this story. You handled it with the delicateness it deserved and held space for these two people.
I applaud the mom because despite all that happened to her and her having a. Million reasons to hate life and a child born out of something as ruthless as rape she chose life for herself and her son. They are not just surviving they are thriving wholistically and that is what being alive is. I also love that she has managed to move past her hurt and extended understanding to her son for him wanting to know his roots despite how difficult that must be. We don't see that often, we are taught to patronize our kids for daring to ask about the absent parents. We deem it as ungrateful with zero regards for the battles that child deals with when it comes to identity.
Finally big up to this young man, he solid, straight up. He is clear about why he wants to know the father, honest about what he feels, genuine that he doesn't know what to feel about his dad(which is a huge burden to bear because how do you reconcile a rapist with him being your dad) , it's a tricky, sticky situation. But I am glad so glad that he knows what he is after, meeting the extended family not necessarily bonding with his father. That right there is called boundaries and self awareness. I hope the good Lord at his own time makes it all happen for them and may he keep covering this family because they are an indicator of the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living despite trials and tribulations that threaten to end us.

Now you see, many tribes accuse kikuyus of not wanting anything to do with baby daddy but that's no true. I am a kiuk and here is the thing, most of us love our kids very much and want to protect them with our lives if need be. If the father is willing, and as long as the kid is not endangered, it's very important for a kid to know their dad. And then even us know every kid carry the father's blood and the man gives seed so the kids will naturally want to know the father, so you can't burn bridges.

A very complicated situation for the young man.The father may choose either ways for fear of exposing his dark past to his family if he has one.He won't like them to know he raped and the product of his behaviour is now looking for him.I pray it works out well for Kimani.

Some of us are out here we don't know our fathers, never met them but just have a name on the birth certificate mum died without saying anything in regard to the matter where do you begin locating him; sometimes I wish there could be an organisation specifically for such cases to link people to their unknown family members

May God fulfil His heart desires and if not may Jehova give him peace and continue guiding him to be the man God has called him to be. True testimony of what was sent to destroy you, God has turned it for your good.

My mum also refused to tell me who my dad is despite her telling my 3 elder siblings their dad,she refused to tell me and my 3younger siblings our dad.
Also she gave me out when I was still a baby to my grandma.i was brought up by my grandma.
My mum is very toxic,I find it hard connecting with her.
What irritates me alot is when i make any progress in life, she accredites it to her praying for me and tells me"don't brag you have made it,its because of my prayers"

I thought I be the first here but I didn't know how many people were eagerly waiting.
I have stayed awake till 3am now just to wait for this video. Let me first watch.
I can relate with this young boy because I remember not knowing about my dad until I was like 10years old, the curiosity of finding about my father was so intense and I remember being beaten several times by grandmother because of asking about the details of my father. Thankfully for me I got to find out him at 10years old though even at 33years now we are still trying to build the relationship with my father. I pray and wish for him that he finds out about his paternal family and gets to meet them. It's the most fulfilling thing for anyone to know where they come from. It gives a sense of belonging which I believe this young man is looking for.
Kudos young boy. My prayers are with you

How do our Fathers live knowing they have beautiful children out here that need them and they’re nowhere to be found? If only they knew what it does to us !!! We don’t want anything from these men. We just want to know our lineage for the sake of our own children 😭😭😭 @Lynn. These are some of the things I ask myself and I vowed to never have kids without them knowing their fathers. It’s a painful experience knowing you exist but you don’t know your other family.
