I really love this woman's strength and forginess power. Any woman who would love the child to the extent of facing her rapist just for the son's sake to know his father is not a simple thing. The name Malaika is very suitable for her. I love her story, very encouraging. It's never too late for anyone. Having that trust in God and not giving up is so beautiful. Thanks so much, LNN, for airing Malaika's story. It is very inspiring and gives hope and teaches how to trust God in all no matter what you are going through. Single/able mothers let's learn from this.
Thanks so much @lynnngugi for your excellent work in exploring the diverse lives of Kenyans. Thank you Malaika for your authenticity and openness, for inviting us into your life, and discussing the difficult and often unimaginable suffering maids go through in Kenya, from fellow Kenyans. The inhuman treatment you underwent sounds stranger than fiction, including being pushed out of the house past midnight to go buy milk when all shops were closed; walking from Kasarani to Kariobangi, raped on the way back and still bleeding, your enslaver still beat you, denied you food etc. I hope the heartless Mama Stivo sees your story. She too is a victim of our society's unaddressed psychological and mental problems. I am not excusing Mama Stivo, but the fact is there are many Kenyan women and men who treat their maids or workers like slaves: not paying them, underpaying them and humiliating them daily.
A very inspiring story. Were I this woman, I would consider that I got a lovely son out of a very bad ordeal. I would never look back and I would not encourage my son to look for his father. Maybe he was not only a rapist, he could even have been a murderer. If he is still alive and badly off, he will only use and hurt these two out of maliceousness.
Indeed there is a balm in Gilead, there is a physician there. Malaika you have brought me to tears and closer to God than I was before hearing your story. So her English in part one was just but part of the story??!! Amazing woman and very strong.I have learnt one thing that has really inspired me.

Weeeh I loved malaika from yesterday story I love her confidence may lord continue blessing her and to you Lynn you are such a wonderful lady who doesn't judge but listen and help people change their lives completely I wish some of us could be able to speak our hearts out the whole nation would come to a standstill but one day we will have the courage to do that maybe
We will get the courage to tell of our stories so.that others will be encouraged and get out of their cocoons.

Amazing Malaika, as Dem wa wera, If only I had the guts to share my rugs to riches story. Hongera mummy, I am proud of you,❤️
She has a good sense of humor telling her story , this should be turned into a film. It will be a great one.
Rachel wa Njoronge haki wewe!🙄🙄
Thank you Lynn for part two is so encouraging... may our God continue changing our story ♥️
I remember David used to go to green fields or green something kindergaten in Mtwapa. Gud Velsigne deg og bevare deg han er mektig! ❤
Thanks, Lyn and Ms.Kimani for this very beautiful interview and narration, about listening and being encouraged by the voice of reason. As l watch this continuation of this very touching story. I can now relate to when " Late Myles Munroe" kept on repeating the story of one of his friends who always used to cry when every time they passed by the cemetery, for many are dead and never had a chance to share their stories to inspire others.
I waited for this story ndio ni comment,I love the way malaika was calling you not lynn alone but lynn ngugi, she has seen it all endured it all and has a story of change
Aki Lynn am waiting for Inspire Global and her story after the point of moving to Norway and finding out her husband had a smelly bed and rickety chairs, to becoming a successful nurse in Norway.
Beautiful story, my mum was also raped and I was the result of it she was also not good mentally,30 yrs later where are you dad!😢😢
What a story oh my God, and her resemblance with her son is so striking, ni color tu mmoja akipakwa dark mwingine light, kudos malaika without forgetting our girl Lynn Ngugi
I have never watched a story on LNN and had tears rolln......i will advise her to stay close to God rain or sunshine!
