I think one of the reasons taylor hasnt really made many break up songs about joe is because they do have a long history together and he is very private. Unlike social media likes to say, taylor is actually very thoughtful and understands that they both made mistakes
Idk I love her but she doesn’t take accountability abt her relationship w Joe… unless there wasn’t any to take. Except for “guilty as sin” but she still makes herself the victim calling it a ‘cage’. She still does sing abt him but it sounded like it died out and she got bored at the end, given “guilty as sin?” So idk if it’s cuz she respects him or cuz she just doesn’t have a lot to say. Kinda reminds me of the relationship between Vanessa hudgens and Austin butler. How he never married her no matter how long they’ve been together.
I think a lot of songs are about Matty because by the end of her relationship with Joe she was already done so that’s why she rebounded with matty so quickly. She wrote you’re losing me about a year before her and Joe broke up so she was already over it. But the loss sad songs are about mourning joe and moving on. Not a lot of bad blood seems to be there for him. She seems to be pissed at matty though…. 😅
i feel like down bad's about joe...cause she was down bad crying at the gym...in one article, when she was preparing for the eras tour she used to sing the whole setlist on the treadmill, and my thought is that since many of her most recent songs i.e from lover, rep, folklore were abt him, she broke down..idk, just my opinion
