It just demonstrates that kids don’t have a prejudice against gays, hatred of others is something that is taught. It also demonstrates that teaching kids about different families (a mom and a dad, two moms, two dads, single mom, single dad) will not cause them to be anymore than a kid.

I understand the story about her son not knowing that his moms were gay. When I was growing up I heard all the schoolyard slurs, but never really understood them. Even when I was 12 and my older brother said he was gay l didn’t understand. He explained that he loved men. I understood what love was, but the sexual aspect of love wasn’t yet on my radar. So, yeah, an eight year old being a bit confused? I understand that. ❤

This is vaguely reminiscent of it suddenly dawning on my French daughter when she was about 11 years old that I have an English accent when I speak French. The look on her face when she realized it was something that will remain with me for the rest of my life. I think our kids just think of us as “their beloved people” and pay zero attention to labels until society conditions them to see differently.

I like that she is quiet when she walks. This speaks to many levels of consideration. And to change something like the way you enter or “appear” or pre appear makes me think that she is a great person who loves her spouse very very much. I’m a silent walker and have had the same sitch. Then flip it. It doesn’t go over quite as smooth whenever I tell my wife she is too loud. The compromise seems to be a little one way. Being frightened by a silent appearance and frightened by non stop noise is not a topic of discussion at our house. Or my house would be out back.

I never heard of Tig. Yes, I live under a rock.
When Stephen Colbert introduces me to someone I trust their value, and I’m still right. What a delight!

@AlvarezGuillermo-me Hi, back! One thing about living under a rock is that the weather’s pretty consistent. Darkish.

    Thank you Tig....
I started recognizing "famous" people because of her old show.
    Mr. Cold Bear:
    I wrote a song.
    Looking for a singer.
This song uses Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah (Hipgnosis music)
    "CONSTITUTION"
I heard there "were" some sacred words.
That Thomas "penned" that freed the world.
But you don't really care for words do ya...
Well it goes like this the First the Fifth, THE minor fails and THE major wins
    Baffled men composing
    Con..chorus
Our faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw "our" flag waving from the roof
Her beauty in dawns early light overthrew ya..
We fought for freedoms in an uncivil war
    We freed the slaves
    But never "broke their" chains
And from his pen he DREW the constitution..
    chorus..
It has "been" strong thru two WWs
It has seen the freeing of those enslaved.
It has kept us safe through battle and strife
As if it had its very own life...
    Chorus....
Maybe there is a God above
*But all I ever learned from love was HOW TO BE OF SERVICE TO THOSE WHO NEED YA..
It is not a cry you hear at night
This song's for those who fought and died
So we don't end with a cold and broken Constitution...
    chorus...

Tig is so genuinely funny and makes me feel good. I saw her show last year and it was one of the silliest nights of comedy I've ever experienced.

Tig is one of the funniest comedians right now. I wish she toured more so I could see her live but I respect how much she is like "nah, I'd rather spend time with my family."

"You can read by her light." Okay Stephen, you're screwing me up. I am single and you keep raising the bar for what an amazing partner needs to be. I would completely and totally 100% melt if someone said that about me.

How does Pride Month not have its own tree, or eggs to hide, or something. It could lean right into that, man.
