Sandy, thanks for sharing! I had my parathyroidectomy surgery exactly 5 years ago this week and flew all the way from Utah to have my surgery performed by the wonderful doctors at Norman Parathyroid Center in Tampa. It was well worth the trip and, like you, I felt very well taken care of during the surgery and recovery. I notice that your hair is very thinned out and want to let you know that it will fill in quickly now that your parathyroid tumor is removed. My hair grew back in very thick and each day I get so many compliments from other people on how thick it is. (It makes my husband laugh at how many people notice my thick hair.) You have to look very hard to find my incision scar on my neck, too. I used to get kidney stones frequently and am so happy to say that I have not had even ONE since the surgery! I hope that all of you symptoms improve like mine have. I wouldn't let just any surgeon dig around such a fragile part of my neck and throat either. You made the right choice!

Hi Sandy. Your scar looks teeny compared to mine! I was the only one had surgery I think last month. Nobody seems to have heard of it!
