This song always gives me a feeling of comfort whenever I'm anxious, Its been 7 years since the first time I heard it and it still gives me the same feeling. I love it, Mike Patton is one of the biggest geniuses of our century.

Because we are all subconsciously unhappy with certain aspects of our lives. We want someone else to come and fix these things we think and feel are wrong, while also accepting and comforting us that we were right in how we felt. We don't wanna be the bad guy, or the "voice of reason" if it means we could ultimately end up being wrong or perhaps losing in the game. But when it is someone else's name and fame at stake, we don't mind letting others take the spotlight if it means getting our way.
I can remember listening to this back in summer of 2009, when my parents had separated (and later got back together and are still together to this day) and I was battling a deep depression as a result. I was 20 years old, coming to terms with my youthful sense of immortality coming to an end as a result of this tragedy, and I stumbled upon this music video and found myself feeling a deep connection with the character and the throes he was dealing with with his own family….at least until the masked people and the blond dude came in and started killing everyone. Either or, this track still strikes a cord. I’m 33 now, married and have a very successful career as a nurse and soon to be grad student. Thinking back to that period makes me realize how much I’ve grown since then and how much that whole situation shaped both me as a person and my current trajectory in life. Bad things happen for reasons we don’t always understand, but they ultimately serve an important purpose and that’s to make us stronger. 😊

Patton is an underrated genius. Faith No More's version of "I Started A Joke" is brilliant and this videos for that song, this song and Pink Cigarette are wicked awesome!
Sounds like it would be a cool name for a Manga. I can't wait until I catch the first 5 seasons of the anime adaptation on Crunchyroll. Hopefully, I can watch both the subbed and dubbed versions. See how well the English voice actors captured the look and feel of the characters, and see if there are any differences in the dialogue.
I discovered this song while I was in highs school, or to be precise, a classmate of mine who I was never close with just walked up to me and said: "hey, listen to this, song I'm so sure you'll like it. " , just out of the blue And I did, so so much, I love it to this day. What's weird about it is that I always was black sheep in school, never could fit in , never really talked to anyone in my class and was always on my own, it's somewhat sad looking back on it, but I'm really grateful he did tell me about Mr.Bungle that day.
I love this video, but not sure why. I love the crazy path we walk with Mr bungle, the sounds, the strange animals, the flowers I've never enjoyed. A fine wine to be explored, When you're ready for it.
The song kicks ass, but the video is also really, REALLY fucking good. It's not easy to give a message and emotions to a video when the message is already given by the song, and yet you managed to do it very well. Congrats !
Outstanding job. I've seen 2 videos you've done (this one and the one for Pink Cigarette). They blew me away that they're so fitting for the songs yet they were totally done by you and not Mr. Bungle.
I've liked Mr Bungle for what seems like forever and I wish all their tracks has fan made clips like this! This nails creepiness and the general uneasy feeling of this band so well that I question the mental stability of the director! LOL Thanks for posting.
@EVIL JOE The song doesn't have a meaning. I Don't know much about Mr. Bungle but I've heard that the artist doesn't care about the lyrics as long as they sync and sound good together
@@elifeyluluney7401 The song was written by Trevor Dunn about how things being "retro" is trendy, when we are actively ignoring problems that will cause the end of the world. So the song is basically saying that "you're too busy living in the past to fix any of your misfortunes"
Evil Jesus ruins another dinner party. Thankyou for your beautifully twisted videos, so lovely to watch again and again and let Pattons vocals wash away the filth of modern music from my ears.

This fan made video is so inventive, the best one I personally have ever seen.
I used to think what I was doing back in the day was pretty good until i saw this. This blows everything i did out of water. Its not even close. Actors, sets, production valies, they even gor Meep (RIP). Would love to meet the guy who did this one day
quite simply the greatest fan-made video ever produced.
Patton is an underrated genius. Faith No More's version of "I Started A Joke" is brilliant and this videos for that song, this song and Pink Cigarette are wicked awesome!
There aren't enough videos featuring Katana Cult Magnum Christ.
Mark Arandjus If that’s not a band name...it should be.
I'd think it would make a great grindhouse flick, honestly
Sounds like it would be a cool name for a Manga. I can't wait until I catch the first 5 seasons of the anime adaptation on Crunchyroll. Hopefully, I can watch both the subbed and dubbed versions. See how well the English voice actors captured the look and feel of the characters, and see if there are any differences in the dialogue.
They are known as "Ghost" now 🤣👻💀
I discovered this song while I was in highs school, or to be precise, a classmate of mine who I was never close with just walked up to me and said: "hey, listen to this, song I'm so sure you'll like it. " , just out of the blue
And I did, so so much, I love it to this day.
What's weird about it is that I always was black sheep in school, never could fit in , never really talked to anyone in my class and was always on my own, it's somewhat sad looking back on it, but I'm really grateful he did tell me about Mr.Bungle that day.
It's cool that obviously you made an impression on that person that they thought of you even though you guys didn't talk.
I love this video, but not sure why.
I love the crazy path we walk with Mr bungle, the sounds, the strange animals, the flowers I've never enjoyed. A fine wine to be explored, When you're ready for it.
IDK, this may be the best song ever written.
This is great - I love how the video follows the subtle feel of the song and then escalates with the song - very dynamic :)
The song kicks ass, but the video is also really, REALLY fucking good. It's not easy to give a message and emotions to a video when the message is already given by the song, and yet you managed to do it very well. Congrats !
Best music video ever.
This should be considered the official music video for Retroverticle.
Literatura em música fica sempre uma obra prima. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Parabéns Patton e Mr. Bungle. Música bonita pra caramba 👍🏾😎👍🏾
I didn't realize Richard D James/Aphex Twin was in this video
Legend
Outstanding job. I've seen 2 videos you've done (this one and the one for Pink Cigarette). They blew me away that they're so fitting for the songs yet they were totally done by you and not Mr. Bungle.
I've liked Mr Bungle for what seems like forever and I wish all their tracks has fan made clips like this! This nails creepiness and the general uneasy feeling of this band so well that I question the mental stability of the director! LOL Thanks for posting.
Agree,if I were a famous director I would make videos for any Mr Bungle song. Unique band and so underrated, good for us :)
I cannot stop listening to/watching this ❤️
3:20 is so Queens of the Stone Age. You can tell how much Josh loved Mike Patton
This is fan-made, right? If so, it's the greatest fan-made video of all time.
Dude, you nailed it.
I take it you've never seen Pink Cigarette .
@EVIL JOE The song doesn't have a meaning. I Don't know much about Mr. Bungle but I've heard that the artist doesn't care about the lyrics as long as they sync and sound good together
@@elifeyluluney7401 Well you shouldn't believe what they've told this people are geniuses
@@elifeyluluney7401 The song was written by Trevor Dunn about how things being "retro" is trendy, when we are actively ignoring problems that will cause the end of the world. So the song is basically saying that "you're too busy living in the past to fix any of your misfortunes"
R.I.P BEN WOOLF ...WE LOVE YOU TOT
Easily the best music video produced between the years 2001-2301.
(retrovertigo)
Agreed
Agreed
Evil Jesus ruins another dinner party. Thankyou for your beautifully twisted videos, so lovely to watch again and again and let Pattons vocals wash away the filth of modern music from my ears.
One of my favourite videos of all time!
3:10 when you're discussing for five minutes back and forth that neither one of you cares where the other chooses to eat that night, then you finally pick a place and they say they dont want to go there
We need more of these awesome videos :D
Great job on the video dude Everytime I hear this I imagine this along with it.
I’m not sure how this ended up recommended to me, even though I’m a huge Mike Patton fan; but thank goodness it did. Wow
When I graduated college back in 2012, me and a buddy took a road trip from Georgia to LA and I ran into the midget guy on Hollywood Blvd. It was pretty surreal as I had just seen this video about a month prior to that.
