I'm big dumb when it comes to modding. While this sounds like a nice temporary fix, do I just leave the loaded effects as is and never touch it again? What if I need to click on the New tab in order to work on a new visual effect? Also side note, do you think this will get automatically fixed in the future through game updates? Because I kinda don't want to go through all of my broken vfx and do them all manually like this Hahahaha 😅
To answer the first question, if you do Export > Penumbra (or Textools and import and enable the ttmp2 file), you don't have worry about the effect for that specific texture anymore. To the second question, probably not. The simple reason is that it's only a problem to modders so why would the devs do anything about it. However, there is an easier way to do this if you're not using Mare. You can create a new mod in Penumbra and drop the entire textures folder into its directory. It takes a LONG time to load the first time, but after that, you shouldn't have to worry too much about textures.
