"My grandpa had a collection of coins from around the world" "Ryan, I am your grandpa." "Nooooooooo." I have coins from around the world, basically worth nothing but they are interesting. I keep them in my grandmas like 80 "wallet-purse" thing where it's two pockets and they open or close using metal brackets at the top. I am from Ukraine I'm now 18 living in Italy, and I have many coins that I wouldn't expect to have. Like for example I have some soviet coins 5 kopeek from 1988 (that's understandable) but here is an example of a "weird" coin: I remember how I was like 7 or 8 and I went outside to generally spend time or go on a swing, I lived in a 30 story building I decided to make my way clinging to the wall instead of taking the boring pavement rout, and here it was, It seems like I found an easter egg in the game, somehow in Ukraine, directly on the path I decided to take on that particular day, under my feet was lying a coin of 50 "qepik" - 50 cents from Azerbaijan. I have american 1$ with John Quincy Adams, then I have some "forint" because we changed planes in Hungary on the way to Italy, I have hexagonal "fifty pence" with Queen Elizabeth ll and 25 canadian cents from my irish guitar teacher, I found "L50" coins of italian lire (1 EUR = 1936 lire) just lying on the street a few years ago when we were all headed for immigration documents, I have 2 swedish crons, and I have our new 1 hryvnia from when I came to Ukraine last summer. Shit is wild.
Speaking of childhood traumas. I often got in trouble for reading in class instead of paying attention to the teacher in third grade. I was really into choose your own adventure, since this was pre Goosebumps. The teacher confiscated my copy of some Nintendo Mario CYOA, and she freaking LOST my book! I never got it back. I was so mad I have never tried to figure out how that story ended to this day and I am the kind of person who always has to know how it ends.
If the speed of light was 25% slower (0.75C) it would actually take 133.33 days, not 125. You would get 75% of the distance in the same amount if time (100 days), but then you would need to travel the remaining 25% of the distance at that 75% speed. If it takes 100 days to go 75% the distance it would take an additional 1/3 of that time to go the remaining 25%. 1/3 of 100 days is 33 and 1/3 days, or about 33.33 days.
(22:25) idk if its relevant or anyone cares but if the speed of light was 25% slower (aka. 75% of what it is now) it would take 33% longer for the event to be seen on earth (133.333 days instaed of 125) My math: 100 days = 8.64 million seconds (t), speed of light (v) = 299792458 m/s → t • v = Distance the event was away (m) (2 590 206 837 120 000m) Speed of light 25% slower (v75): 224844343.5m/s Time it takes for light at 75% speed to travel distance m: m / v75 = 11 520 000 seconds → 133.333 days Or put simpler and more general: m / (m/s) = s so if you have the same distance (1) but 25% reduced speed (0,75) s will increase by 0,333.
I had this playing on my TV in the background and I thought they were saying Louie. I was like what's wrong with watching Louie as an adult that's a great show.
90's sports cards are worth something. It's just that they have to be the really interesting cards that were numbered or have pieces of jersey's in them.
Bluey is the best kids show my kids watch. I'd never watch it on my own, but I genuinely find it funny sometimes. It's great. Pepa pig is terrible in my opinion. I'm so happy it didn't catch on with my kids.
Now he only needs to bring back crosswords and I'd be in true bliss

Dude, "cultural wasteland" is the most apt description of Las Vegas I've ever heard.
The salad aware midwesterner bit goes hard
It blows my mind that somehow NL knows that Derbyshire is a place that exists but doesn't even get close to the correct regional accent
