Ima be honest with you, I don't really mind the drones anymore. At least the strike drones. They are and easy farm for my Ozelot, and they cannot dodge the stingers to save their life.

Ace Combat music really fits the theme for this one. F-14 providing top cover for ground units just like we would in Ace Combat.
I honestly think gaijin did a good job on the visual part of this game, Dusk and dawn battles are honestly super cool, especially when you get to see the pheonix missiles' burner in the dark, and those flares!!!!!!! damn, too bad this game is too grindy

Also that night battle over Normandy was beautiful, with Phoenixes shooting off like comets, and enemy air flaring...looked like a Christmas party XD...really enjoying these ground RB Tomcat air superiority videos, they'll never get old
Its a proximity round, it explodes when near the target. Still a nice shot though(for the heli shot)
I didn't understand why the third Phoenix didn't hit the target in Normandy, he was 10km, flying high and not maneuvering at all, it would be nice triple :(

Also knocking out these drones not only destroys the drone but it also gets that person out of the lobby because when you get the drone you usually just have enough spawn points to use it

We had a battle yesterday where maybe half the people in GRB took a fighters and the battle was more in the air. Great dogfight with six kills in the MiG-23. Very immersive.

Definition of hatred: Bringing a full Air to Air loadout to ground RB because you're tired of CAS
I don't play War Thunder or anything, I only occasionally watch the videos, but why don't people do that more often with interceptor aircraft to deny CAS?
@@totalnerd5674 The problem is that when you get killed by CAS and you spawn in a fighter all CAS aircraft are dead before you get to the battlefield

@@martinjuniorbalbihurtado9599 Yes, like how you can spawn with a helicopter first but only if it has no ATGMs. But instead, it is a helicopter with Fox-2s. Or even a Drone with Fox-2s.
As far as i know they fixed, manual radar controls, just turn off relative control and use the multiplier setting to adjust your radars movement sensitivy, maybe it'll help you in future hunts. Great content as always, thank you Hunter.
Right now I'm just using the antenna tilt, I don't feel I really need the horizontal and vertical radar manual targeting, there are not much aerial targets in Ground RB, which is my main mode. Thanks for the kind comment :)

How is Hunter finding top tier matches where you don't get shot down the moment you come with in 10km of the battlefield and often enough to make a video out of it
I always tried to stay out of 10-12km in this video (Maximum range of SAM), my job was to clear the sky, also paying attention to RWR and kill-feed.

looks like fun aim 7e-2/f would probably be more affective at those ranges as they are made for short to medium ranges the phoenix is more for 20+km.

Kamov implodes upon being hit by a HEAT, meanwhile a drone keeps flying even with two thirds of a wing missing. I've seen footage where a drone has the left wing practically missing, with the tip of the wing magically floating "where it should" and flying normally. #justgaijinthings ?
Did they nerf the PD/TWS Radar? I seem to have big problems targetting Helicopters as of late. Usually PD picked them up but it doesnt work as good anymore? Or is TWS better vs helis?

0:40 actually that's pretty accurate to how HEAT shells work while hitting enemy tanks.
Sorry but I don't think you got the point here, these HEATFS shells have proximity fuse against aerial target, the shell should detonate and explode 10 meters or less relative to target, not 50.
@@Hunter_i86 Nah I just saw the smoke effect looks exactly the same when HEAT type of shells explodes when fuse is activated which is what I meant, not sure how MPAT shells works tho, maybe the same way and the heat source is somehow directed towards aerial target or perhaps the fuse changes and its turn the shell into common HE shell.

No this is not manual, just tapping "Select Radar\IRST Target To Lock" button.

@@Hunter_i86 I believe you hit an mi-28 in an earlier gameplay video closer to release of F-14. Patch made missiles great but they do fail headons a decent bit still, but it matches up with how much AA missiles failed irl lol

Nowadays I'm loving the Harrier GR.7 more than anything in the game.
Question are jdams now in the game? On UA-cam I only find vids with the f4ej/ejkai form the dev not life server

What tips are you shooting air target by tank?
I don't know, just lead the aim and hope for the best .. also this shell was HEATFS with proximity fuse.
I have to ask Hunter, the skin for the Jolly Rogers, did you get it on market or in game some how. I would LOVE to have that one because it is my favorite group, I even have some of my planes with the skull and bones on it. 😁

When you switch to Commander view with aim enabled, how do you get the gun to change its elevation after you Range Find a target?
The gun doesn’t change elevation only in gunner view. How do you do it from commander’s view?

I use two buttons:
- Commander Fire Control
- Rangefinder
Maybe, just maybe you need to turn off "Realistic Gunner Sight" in options if it is "ON".

Oh my God! just leave man .. just leave before spawn and never J out a single vehicle and lose SL, and change nation then and try again. For me I'm not grinding so much anymore so I just leave things like Berlin & Cargo Port for top tier, let them know we have enough of such childish pathetic maps like Berlin.

Hey Hunter, I have a question.
Flying the F-4 EJ Kai after the recent changes I've noticed that AIM-7Fs can now track targets that are going cold to me. Do you know if the Phoenix can do the same?
Hello, sorry what do you mean by "cold"? Phoenix is Fox 3 and it doesn't need to maintain lock, maintain lock can help updating the missile coordinates and increase the probability of hit but it is not needed if the target was around 20km or less. Sparrow is fox one and needs maintain lock until impact moment.
@@Hunter_i86 I meant cold aspect, which means the target is flying away from you, their nose is not pointed towards you.
I've noticed the AIM-7F does not lose track as long as I can keep a speed differential of more than 150 m/s to the target, which used to not be the case (before the update if the target turned away from me, the missile would get spoofed and self destruct or I would get the white lock indicator before launch).
So I was wondering if the Phoenix had gotten better at this as well
@@Peddochiddo I think it is all about the two little lines on the side edge of radar screen, they represent the maximum and minimum range of the missile in the current approach\situation .. so if the target was between the two range lines and you are faster than him I think you have a good chance to launch, track and hit, even it the target was cold aspect (Thanks for explaining this term). For Phoenix I didn't notice because it is always a head-on in Ground RB and I don't play Air RB much.

So I recently unlocked the Tunguska to deal witg UAVs and I have to say I am very annoyed. Nine times out of ten they don't apear ony radar and I only find out they're in the air when my teammates start dying to them, I die to them, or from the drone of theor propeller noise. Other times I will see them on radar but will be unable to lock onto them, and since they're flying so high they often just won't render unless you're zoomed in on them completely.
Needless to say its been very frustrating.

@@EnderGhost119 Remember, Strike Drones spawn exactly above the near enemy helipad at 4500m altitude 6km away from the ground battle, so elevate your gunner optics to around 45-60 degrees and search by naked eyes in that area.

How do You Dodge a Phoenix?
It is a 16g missile with long smoke trail, so with enough amount of awareness it can be spotted and dodged by turning or diving.
