Got to the ration missions in DDS2, got tired of that and missed DDS1. Just started a new DDS1 this week and happy to see you come back to it as well! DDS1 is more up my alley than DDS2. Love the mixing and dealing.
In dds 2 he doesn’t ring you because canonically you’re meant to BE eddie, it’s meant to be him reflecting, but yeah if you don’t play as him it is like you’ve just went to the future and have a guy in your ear 😂 and personally I prefer being my own dealer which dds 2 doesn’t give you as much as a feeling of
Its not just that Eddie doesn’t ring you. The whole story is flat. It feels like you explore game mechanics in a game test you unlock one after the other, without much reason. They say a war starts and thats it except for a few flashes and sound effects now and then. There is no interaction and growth among the NPCs, little to no interesting story development and certainly no twists and turns.
It’s just lacking a lot of the interaction DDS1 has. Sure you get the recorded calls now and then, but it does not feel as if you receive a call. Interactions with the influencers are all “Oh you’re the guy I heard about”, “I have a problem, solve it” and standard interaction like less percentage, new employees or handing over dope. Do stuff is usually killing mobs.
SPOILER WARNING: Even the rescue later on (not going into details for SPOILERS) feels disconnected, because you don’t know these guys.
This is a rant and I apologize for that, but the game, while still fun, lacks when compared to DDS1. And thats not even mentioning the uncompleted parts, like selling 99:1 mixes without trouble.

I know everyone says they like the faceless dealer character they play in dds1 and can feel more immersed. Its Marcus, youre playing as Marcus from Dds2. Note the internal monologue voice. Thats my head cannon anyway
I'm still loving DDS2 so I'm glad you're not done with that but damn is it refreshing going back to the beginning

love the order board in dds1 all oganised, the place names are easy to remember the cops are more scary , the mixes are more in-depth, running movement feels better, the intoxication effects.
dislikes... the SHADY Laptop sound, and no waypoints.

Next time i will play the game slighty modded. Loved dds 1 but found the progression either be to slow or to fast while trying to figure out logistics and finding crossing the border more and more of a pain

Play as long as you can without going to Sektor 3 😂 in this time you can Grind a little and Stock your products up and build a few Labs first and eddie is not gone at this time

The higher the level of the dealer, the more volume they order. Their level also dictates the cost of making them lab workers later in the End Game stuff

What version of the game you play? I'm on my first playthrough and my game is nowhere as dark as yours, I also had option to buy PTC right off the start via Shady. I've heared that the latast patch makes the game so dark and I was confuzed, and now I'm even more confuzed because it seems to be true, but not for me. Maybe it has something to do with the screen itseld, because I play on a TV screen, not an actual PC monitor. Other games seem normal tho.
for dds 1, i recommend keeping your drugs pure till you get them addicted or dealers. then i give those 80% drug to 20% additive. so 20g to 5g.
also get quick learner at least to lvl 5 before you put 1 into stealth, run, stamina and sales. then max out learner for a massive xp boost later.
