    Keep going! Your videos are SO good! I watch a boat load of sailing channels to get through the winter in VT - you have a beautiful aesthetic to your images and a wonderful quiet endearing presence!

    Another great video! Nice stash Kurtis :) So glad you shared the way Oligario and fam cooked the lobster. We always just eat it plain Jane boiled or steamed with butter...definitely going to try the light flour and fry next time. Yummmm. Hope you guys are having fun wherever you are and don't have any more issues with the main sail, or any other mishaps for that matter! Miss youuuuu

    I have just discovered your channel. You are inspiring me to purchase a small sailboat and sail down to Huatulco in Oaxaca. Love the photographs of the fishermen. You’re gifted. Thank you and looking forward to following your adventures. ❤️

    Wow, your videos are excellent quality, very nicely edited and the pictures and cinematography are top notch, well done!
    Great job on the fishing and sail repair, too. I'd been questioning whether or not I really need to replace my 25+year old sails and I think you just convinced me it'll be worth it 😆
    I hope you are having an amazing experience down there and thanks for bringing me along ✌️🙂

    Great video! Looks like your really enjoying yourselves! Look into accepting lobster, I have heard the only way you can have lobster in Mexico is if served on a plate, and that federales will fine you, or worse! Let me know if I’m wrong! I love lobster! 😝

    Just found your channel and the name (Taku) reminded me of a book (“Sails Full and By”) written in the 70’s or 80’s by a sailor named Dom Degnon. His Formosa ketch was named Taku after a word in some indigenous language meaning “wind”. He said when he got to the South Pacific, he noticed people were giggling about it and he found out in their language, it meant “fart”. Just throwing that out there! I’ll check out more of your content when I can.

    • @sailingtaku
      @sailingtaku  2 роки тому +1

      That is waaay to funny! We need to read that book. I guess we’ll be getting a lot of giggles if we go to the South Pacific 🤣

      @@sailingtaku It’s still in print, but not nearly as old as I thought it was. First published in 1995. The author’s son was a sailing instructor at the ASA school I was learning at in Boston in the early ‘90’s, and he was living aboard that boat in Boston Harbor at the time. So when I saw your video, I was curious to see if it’s the same boat.

    You guys are living it up!!! Im stuck up here in the cold in the PNW. anyways im sure you know this but just in case. Any time you arent using your sail it needs to have its cover put back on it. The suns UV rays damage the dacron and the stitch threading. With that said if you were sailing all day and then stopped and droped anchor for the night and then get up and sail the next morning id say no need to cover it up. but if you're gonna be on the hook in the sun keep that thing covered up.

    Can you explain how you get through customs when going to different countries? What's the process like when you're boating? Do you have to go to certain locations when entering countries by boat? Thank you :) New sub!
