Excellent fishing!!
18 seconds in, what a postcard shot. Breathtaking natural beauty with just the 1 sailboat in the shot. Then you follow it up with great shot after great shot. The triggers are great tasting fish.
Hi Bill! Thanks, it really is a beautiful spot! We've eaten many triggerfish, we were just hoping for maybe a grouper or a snapper :)
Nice! I've never seen the Baja so green, beautiful!
I believe Hurricane Kay had a lot to do with it! 🌧️🌿
Great epi you guys!!! I can't believe how green it was there, so incredibly beautiful! Well done on all the fisssies! YUM

Happy new year!! Thank you :)

Glad you like them!:)
Great episode! Best young sailing channel for sure. You’re an inspiration for other young (and older) people looking for a more fulfilling way to spend some years. Please keep the videos coming!
Thank you 💕💕
Great checking in on you guys as always. Please be safe and greetings from So Calif.
Thank you!!
Nice one guys!
Id take trigger fish over cuda any day . Trigger fish are delicious.
What a beautiful spot .
Thanks! Yes, we've eaten many triggerfish (it's just not our fav) We were hoping for many a grouper or a snapper :)
Very good video Thanks
You’re welcome! Thanks :)
For the bugs, Skin So Soft and those green coils work good. I've never been bit by anything when I had skin so soft bath oil on.
I love your vids, keep them coming...
Thank you!! :)
That place looks sick! I know where to go once we splash back in Guaymas.
Yes you have to!!
Great video ! That scorpion fish also called sculpin are very good eating . Just be careful and use a pair of snips to cut off the dorsal pec and other fins where the spines are. They are rockfish.
Awesome video, your channel is so cool 😎😎😎
Thanks :)
Great episode…
Thank you very much!
Careful with the Barracudas. They tend to soak up the mercury in the oceans and not dispel it. Many will not eat them at all, some say it's ok to eat the small ones away from the reefs, but I've known locals on distant islands to not care at all.
G'day guys. Calling in from down under. Just found your channel and like what I see, so have subbed. Looking like I will need to binge watch to catch up. Just a quick Q+A. What is the design of your boat?? Looking like a Lyle Hess design.?
Btw Curtis, you'll find it easier holding your rod, with your left hand further forward. Gives more leverage, and makes it easier to fight anything big. Looking forward to further adventures. Btw, my beer fridge is full again down here in Nz, if you find your way down here. Until next time, take care and atb.
Hey Bryan! Thanks for the comment! Taku is a Fraser 36 designed by Peter Ibold built by the De Kleer Bros in Richmond BC 🇨🇦!! We might take you up on that 🍺 offer sooner than later 😉
@@sailingtaku you're very welcome to the beer.
Have you ever tried thermacell lantern? You should!!! Look up info.
No! We need to look into that! Thanks :)
Scorpion fish is very delicious and nutritious,Watch out for the stinger on its back as it cleans。😍
Greetings from the pacific northwest (Bellingham). You recently accomplished a major crossing, congratulations. Question - did you first explore the pacific coast of mexico prior to sailing north in the sea of cortez for the summer? Was it difficult sailing north in the spring - windwise? You are very inspiring. Cheers.
Hello! Yes, we first sailed down to Puerto Vallarta then waited for the wind to switch from Northerlies to Southerlies, that switch happened about May for us. Then we made our way up the sea for the Summer! Thanks for watching :)
Ya, so was the barracuda we use that for bait.or to make dog food. It's not good eating. I just found your channel it just popped up.. that's a good thing.. .. I hope you guys make it
Haha yeah it wasn’t very good! We definitely won’t keep another one 😂 and thank you for the support 😀
🆒👏👏👏💙.
Did ya’ll make it to Penasco?!
We did!! Haha, just posted a new video :)
@@sailingtaku that’s awesome! My wife and I live there; we had hoped to see your boat!
Why not eat all those triggers or scorpions ? Scorpions arent that dangerous and have a venom similar to almost every fish/ray out there. Stone fish is the one to be careful of. Cuda we consider a trash fish as the meat is bloody and oily. Great video!
I remember sitting in a bar in Mulege listening to a couple gringos bragging about how they went out and slayed 300 trigger fish in a day, another guy named Bill down in Juncalito bragging about how he never had to buy food because he bartered for everything he needed with Chocolates (clambs). It was a real eye opener into taking more than one needs from the sea. it's a precious resource. Be gentle with it. Please...
Absolutely agree! We only take what we need. We never kept one triggerfish that we caught that day. This video was also filmed over a 2 week period :)
I was just putting the sentiment out there because other people may also read it and take conservation into consideration. I'm gald to see there are still trigger fish in the Vermillion Sea.. So tasty if eaten right away.
@@CaptHappy-xe3yg I appreciate your comment :)
Hello
Hi :)
🇵🇰
picaridin is as good as deet but not as nasty... you're welcome
Thanks 😀
I hate to be that guy but Scorpion Fish are not poisonous per se (they are good to eat) but merely have highly venomous spines.
Hi! We should have clarified that in the video! We know they only have poisonous spines, we’ve eaten a few :) I should have been more clear in the video.
@@sailingtaku Again, 'venomous', not poisonous.
@@belkenator “Scorpionfish have extremely potent venom in their sharp spines, making them one of the most poisonous animals in the ocean.”
