Got a 2021 late last June. Now at 10,000 KM. It is my 8th new bike in 42 years of riding (Including a new Harley in 1990) Now at 61 years old, I am not getting any stronger and the arthritis is kicking in pretty good. The difference of weight from my VFR1200F is huge! I find the SV650X to be the perfect weight and power for what I do now, mostly riding within 250 KM from home. I did a 1,850 KM trip in 3 days last years and I was happy to be home at the end :-) In 4 years I retire and will travel more. This is why I keep my VFR1200F but most of my riding will be with the SV around here. Would I buy it again? Hell YES!
@@pookiewookie7679 I am now at 42,000 KM . I got a few ride of 1,500 KM + in 2 or 3 days and it is not bad . You have to stop every 150 KM for a little break but the clip-on are not as low as a GSXR or a ZX . When I travel long distance , I take my GSXS1000 anyway 🙂. You ride safe my friend .
Great Video. I have this exact 2019 SV650x. It’s 🔥! Perfect blend of naked and sport. At under 3.5 secs 0-60mph it makes for super fun but manageable. It’s my daily “escape” bike through town and some twistys and an occasional commuter that’s super easy to drive. The front has both preload adjustment and 4 caliper brakes on this 2019 SV650x model. Def get take pads as you will want to see what this naked bike can really do! Stay safe and keep ridin’💯👍🤙🏼
Hey man, I'm looking to buy a 2017 sv650 or a r3. Nearest track is 4hours away and it is a medium sized kart track. So 90% of my riding will be on the city, that's why I'm looking for a sv650 which I love since I first saw it. What can you tell me about the cornering of this bike in the track? Both of you haha
I came for the bike, stayed for the quality content in this video. Not only the bike review was spot on, the image and sound quality are better than professional standards. You guys just 'wowed' me. Well done! Keep up the good work, and hope to see more reviews from you. +1 sub.
This is a very well made video. I think the format is great for bike reviews. The video work of the static bike, showing the function of the gages and switchgear is very good.
Ok so here we are in 2024 and I recently went to a demo ride event for Royal Enfield. I tried the Continental GT which has clipon style bars. I always shyed away from that riding position because I heard it would be uncomfortable for distances. Well, it wasn't bad at all! It was surprisingly easy to ride and felt natural since I have a sporty riding style anyway. Why do I mention all of this? Well because back in 2021 there was a new SV650X at a dealership that was on sale for $6999. I loved the way it looked and of course the SV had a great reputation. But because I never tried any bikes with lower bars, and started riding at 37yrs of age, I passed. I did end up buying a Husqvarna Svartpilen 701 for the same price coincedentally...super fun bike in its own right! But man what could have been!? I guess since my bike is discontinued as well as the SV650X, I'm in a unique crowd regardless. Shout out to any 650X owners out there! You have a great looking bike!
got mine about a month ago for $6999. it's my first "real" bike, nothing too unwieldy for a beginner, but man I can see myself riding it for a long time.
My first mid cc ride, been loving it for a month, i even drove it for 500 km to another city, it wasnt as bad as i dreaded given the ergonomics, however it makes all my commutes fun
MSRP is going to be the go to price, plus taxes and fees for a current model year new one. If you can negotiate or find one cheaper, go for it! The point we were making in the video is that you can find brand new, never owned 2019 models for $2000 less in some markets. It’s the same bike sub color. Not to mention if you go for a nonX model, those get to be $3,000 cheaper and you’re still getting 95% of what you get with the X. Hope that at least helps with our thinking on pricing in this video. Either way and whatever you decide, you’ll get a great all-around bike. Thanks for the comment and view!
Yeah. The brakes were updated to 4 pistons up front vs 2 pistons for 2019. They may have also adjusted the muffler for more lean angle. That’s about it that I know of. Others should certainly chime in if I missed something. Thanks for the comment!
The basic platform has been around for quite a while. It’s pretty reliable. I owned a last generation SV and it was rock solid. Another, reason these are so popular. However, it’s also the reason why the SV is starting to show its age. Suzuki is using an engine and setup that’s been around for over 20 years. But they are very reliable bikes.

Probably the best sv650x review on youtube hands down. It's got everything, ride shots, the motorcycles actual sound, everything! Great job!
Too kind. Thanks!

How is the comfort on your wrists, back and neck on 100+km rides? Are those clip-ons uncomfortable?
Thank you and good luck!

I don't have an "X" but this year I bought a brand new 2018 SV with only 5miles on it. It was $5500 out the door. First street bike and I love it.
Awesome! Glad to hear you enjoy it!
You got a heck of a deal.
Best review I’ve seen yet on this motorcycle. Thank you!
Thank you! Glad you liked it.
Best SV review. im finally sold to buying the SV.
Thank you! Tell Suzuki that and maybe they will send us more bikes to review! haha! Good luck with your buying decision!

@@ridexdrive Thanks for the advice man. I definitely like the 2019 white/black color scheme more than the black 2020. Subscribed!
Anyone know what other updates are in new updated 2019/2020 model? I heard front brakes have been updated

i am sorry for the stupid question but what is the that white cup on the steering wheel?
Not a stupid question at all! I am guessing you are talking about the brake fluid reservoir on the right side.
@@ridexdrive yesss that was i asking thank you so so much!

I’m convinced. I’m selling my VFR and getting an SV lol

What about reliability? Opinions from owners that have the bike

I'd like this with a higher mounted handle bars
At 1.85cm would be a good bike? 🙄
I imagine it would be ok. Best advice is to sit on one, preferably ride one to see how it feels to you.
what a waste of time.!!!!!!
