I wonder where the registry data is stored on the HDD because maybe you can boot into Linux and delete the file that represents HKLM. I don't know how you would do dual-boot on a VM though.

You should do a video about the registry hives from the DOS versions of Windows, and what happens if you try to splice together a Windows 9x installation with a Windows NT installation.

I did something like this when I changed from from Win98/2000 (dont remember which windows was) to WinXP, I wanted to see Win98/2000 looking like Windows XP so I back up the registry from Win XP and applied in Win98/2000 and I remember that the windows started but only showed the background from the desktop, man those were cool days always messing with the pc

Feather You need the Win95 Boot Disk from here: winworldpc.com/product/microsoft-windows-boot-disk/95 You insert it as floppy disk and boot from the disk, from there you can boot from CD. I have a virtualbox tutorial on my to do list, I think this is one of the videos with higher priority :)

Hi Buddy, All I wanted was removing an office 2016 download slowing my PC. I clicked on delete on the microsoft folder from the registry, I then quickly realised that I needed to only delete the office folder, I then quickly clicked cancelled . I could see all other folders, all of sudden I cant launch the explorer shortcut, I rebooted, windows load Fine and nothing happen just a black screen. I did F12 run the diagnostics, I get a green tick on everything (system, cables, OS boot path, Hard drive, CD room, Video card, process fan, motherboard,, system management, memory ). This is Dell Optiplex 780 small tower running windows 7. Tried F8/safemode with command prompt still black screen. . Any suggestions?
I think a virus did this to my PC. Once i couldn't open regedit or anything and i shut down the pc and got constant bsods, i restarted the pc before the bsod, and i tried repairing it, didnt work, so i tried resetting it and then it worked again like normal. Thank you windows for actually working.
