- “Lock Horns” - Steven Verhelst new duet for trombones.
What a joy to play this brand new composition with me dear friend, the amazing José Milton Vieira.
The idea for this project was born during Milton's visit at the Thein factory to select his Thein tenor trombone.
I've asked my former student and friend, the successful composer of so many trombone hits, Steven Verhelst, to compose a new piece for the 2 of us and here it is.
A long distance Brazil - Netherlands Corona proof project which both of us enjoyed so much.
We hope you also will enjoy this swinging new piece.

Great performance and video editing! Another awesome trombone composition from Steven Verhelst. I seriously love everything he writes 😂 Is the sheet music available anywhere?

Greetings Ben
BRAVO!!!!!
Bravíssimo!!!
Wow! What a fun piece! Great job, and great intonation! Could loosen up and swing a little more in a few places but, under the corona/distance circumstances, great job!! Would very much like to purchase this piece.
Ben, your sound and your consistency of ability are both extremely impressive. I've been considering getting a new bass trombone and would love to try out a Thein, but not sure how I'd work that out since I live in Colorado, USA.
Hi David, the contact in the USA is:

I would say, ask them for the new Martin van den Berg model. Of course mine is awesome as well but what they make for Martin is really very Universal. Martin is the bass trombone of the Metropole Orchestra in the netherlands
@@BenBasstrombone Oh, that's absolutely great! I will definitely pursue this! Thank you Ben for your quick reply, and for the information!
Definitely enjoy listening to and watching your recordings, great inspiration!! We all need this, especially during these challenging times.
Exceptional!!!!!
Ma che bravi!
You two sound great! The video editing is a bit overzealous for me; I'm always hearing Ben on the right and José on the left, but when the video flips their locations and the audio remains the same, it's a little disorienting.
Thanks for the compliment and the comment on the editing. Yes, I understand totally but I wanted to make it not too boring and perhaps went too far. Just listen to the music :-))
Deberían compartir la partitura almenos para ir leyendo 👍👍
jonge jonge, wat zou je vader trots zijn......... nu ben ik het hoor!
