Mad respect for waluigi on the drums right there
😂😂 All jokes aside, he’s one insanely talented drummer.
You Gotta Ride Jimin Before You Park Jimin let’s not forget the bass player and the vibraphonist, shame no one can hear them except for during solos
NishDaFish I can hear them fine.
@@TooTactWithTheKnocks lol
Henry Mohr plays drums.
I love the energy coming from that drummer.
Doesn't have to be fancy to be good.
In a tune like this, the energy kind of builds itself. lol
His energy was almost as large as his chin, incredible stuff
Henry Mohr plays drums.
daaaaaaamn these kids shreddin
How did you comment a week ago if the video was released today
@@PorkchopSandviches probably got it unlisted or something
That vibraphone player game me the chills after that amazing solo.

Vibes player is insane!
We played this at allstate jazz last year, and this high school is better. That's insane.
What state?
@@mchenrymaney262 Arizona
TrumpetGuy64 dang
This band has probably been going after this chart all year long vs. All-State when you're given the music to sightread and prepare. I'm certain that you guys from Arizona sounded awesome though!
Michael Widjaja They have the sheet music for like 3 months at the most. Plus all the other music they have.
Dude’s drumming like there’s no tomorrow.
Back in 1980, Chuck Mangione, Dizzy Gillespie, and a veritable who's who of top shelf musicians recorded the "Tarantella" album and this tune was part of Dizzy's set.
2:03 he quotes stablemates by Benny Golson
WHOAAAAA Good catch!!!!
yeah we played the song earlier in the year
Glad the footage of this year's competition is released pretty early this year
Incredible would be an insult to that alto player, incredible!
So many aspiring jazz musicians have enrolled at this high school that they now fill FOUR jazz bands. Our school barely had 1. Our piano player had to double the bassline like Ray Manzarek.
One of the smoothest trumpet solos you’ll see followed by one of the spazziest.
Come on they're in highschool
Spazzy or not, the dude was shredding.
vibes solo sheesh!!!!!!!
Dude on vibes is amazing! Damn!
amazing band of young talents
These young folks are amazing!!! This is a very fun but intimidating tune. I played the original Dizzy Gillespie song book at Clark Atlanta University back in the early 2000s. This is an awesome rendition especially at their level. Awesome job guys continue on... 👏🏽
Best damn band EVAH!!!
Props to that bass
Daaaaaaaaaammmmmmm!!!
Absolutely fabulous.
0:38 quotes donna lee
He does it again at 1:27
Can someone explain the bag of greens on the piano @4:28 lol
If you watch the full set at the end the interviews explain it.
not really a tradition Mr. Brown just does things like that sometimes
How about that vibraphone huh holy
what you doing in the situation that the band next door pulls out a 350 bpm song like this
vibraphone solo 😳
DAMNNN, Is that quentin tarantino play the drums right there?!?
I'm new to this. Do they create their own solos?
It’s called improvised solos
They play what ever’s on top of their head
Yeah, they create their own solos; it’s one of the things that makes jazz so special imo.
bassist is literally cracked
Anyone else hear the Mario Kart Lick at 0:59???
GEORGEE
I remember playing with George at the Couth Buzzard jam session, his Martin tenor was almost as big as he was. It’s completely unsurprising that he was killing here, talent shows itself early.
