    I work for a plastic liner company and we use Demtec Extruders that do the same thing as your last machine there. Only difference is we have a white cutting board type material on the end of the extruder which we call a shoe. We use the extruder to weld patches onto the liner systems we install. We grind the liner to open up the pores of the liner then extruder ontop of the grind so that it sticks. I'd recommend checking out Demtec or Leister tools.

    Hello Thomas, I'm from India, I have got you through instructables, firstly congratulations for your grand prize in green future contest which you really deserve.🎉🎉
    I read your instructables, it took me several hour to completely understand your project 😅😅, and I really appreciate how you showcase your project with a great sense of humour and an emotional connect, (as your last step shows a little bird on the machine, commenting happy recycling), and I love it.❤❤
    Also thanks to you for getting me to Dave Hakkens and his org Precious plastic, i have also seen his videos too, (also for several hours) that also gave me the insight about plastic recycling and how anyone in the world can recycle plactic at a relatively small scale, this give us a feeling of hope for the future, I also saw that in the last 10 years how he built his organisation, how he created a community of people with common interests towards a common goal, that's really inspired me. 😃😃
    I've recently completed my high school, and preparing for getting to a good engineering college, like you bro, I've a strong intrest in engineering since my early childhood, I've a very miserable childhood as the place where I lived have no exposure to any kind of STEM education, especially my childhood is mainly spent in collecting waste from streets, making something of it, fixing old things, and storing scrap that I've collected since my childhood. Then the year 2020 came, during the pendamic i have gotten major exposure to the UA-cam and the world of makers and DIY's, and my new world of possibilities opens, as I'm not native to english primarily, it took me a long time to understand, what they are saying (mainly american and other english countries), I've gotten to the channels like engineering mindset, Real engineering and others alike, this marks the beginning of the new era of my life, as i can now have ascess to the knowledge throughout the world, that's really mind-blowing.
    You worked very hard to make that, really impressive.

      The interenet can be such an amazing place to learn engineering as I am completely self taught like you! I wish you all the very best for your engineering degree and I am sure I am sure we will see each others work again :)
      I am so glad this project as well as others has inspired you, and I can't wait to see what else you make. I will be building and posting an instructable about the next phaze of this machine (widing it up for printing) so stay tuned.

    потрясающе, но я бы посоветовал использовать не контейнер, а мешок для дробилки, тогда кусочки пластика не будет так разлетаться

      Hmm that's a good idea! The plastic also gets statically charged so it sticks to the container. Maybe a bag would prevent this. I'll give it a try.

      It'll be one of the best investments ever. I'd look into auto-darkening helmets and checkout second hand welders if you're looking for a deal!

      The motor runs at 12V DC and draws between 5-8 amps (it will change depending on how much strain the motor is under). That comes to a max of just under 100W and I'd say the motor is slightly underpowered. You can find more details and motor specifications by following the link in the description and going to 'step 5'

    The cool part is now you can chop it up again to make small refined pellets and add it to some new pellets of the same material in what ever ratio works. Then make filament. Or molds!

    What is the motor power there?

      It runs on 12V DC, and around 5-8A (The current draw will change as the strain on the motor changes). You can find alternatives and other motor specs on my instructables (Link in description) at 'Step 5'.

      Sorry mate, I haven't quite finished the shredder yet. Once it's finished I'll release the files. At the moment it's extremely loud and rather unsafe given its geared down with kids bike chains...

    eletricity and water etc has to be cheap, otherwise it would be about the same if not more expensive than just buying filament

      electricity consumption is less than you think, and given raw materials are free that cost is quickly covered. Solar panels are also extremely common where I live. Not sure where water is used? Filament here costs 20 - 30 AUD per kg so this saves a ton of money. I am still designing the spooler for consistent diameter control, but this machine can be used for a wide range of products like beams, pens, lampshades etc, which will be showcased in a future video once the spooler is working. Also this design is to recycle plastic... not just produce filament...
