Testing out YARG's Engine with Sun of Nothing by Between The Buried and Me

- YARG's engine without the anti-ghosting modifier enabled is effectively Clone Hero except without infinite front-end. that means you're not allowed to fret hopos or tap notes before they're in the hit window otherwise it will miss. It also has a decent bit smaller hopo and strum leniency window, meaning you have less time to correct for errors on each note.
Unlike CH, it doesn't allow you to rake through soulless strumming at whatever speed you want without missing, HOPOS can only eat 1 strum input.
YARG is also open source, so it's prospects and future are extremely exciting and I can't wait to see where the game goes. There's already community modders who've made accuracy judgement mods, ghost-input punishments and other really interesting additions.

I like this just because I just wish there was a proper way to get a legit Rock Band highway in Clone Hero. I never loved Guitar Hero's highway and the available RB textures for CH are kinda jank

Ive only ever played gh3 and clone hero, so Im not sure how I feel about no infinite front end. I feel like it would feel punishing when you hold and anchor in slower parts

@@Derpferdler Thats not true, its just an added mechanic that changes your playstyle that Im not accustomed to. There's nothing unclean about anchoring
@@FalconerCH no but there is something unclean about pulling off too early while anchoring, which is what you are able to get away with with an infinite front end. Just because you're not accustomed to it doesn't mean you can't learn
@@Derpferdler There is nothing unclean about pulling off once a note has been hit, it is in my opinion an unnatural added mechanic. Thats just my opinion
@@FalconerCH well if you pulled off too early on actual guitar, the intended note would ring out too early as well. Playing with precision = playing cleaner, that’s just a fact

This looks really cool, but tbh I don't like the visuals very much. The square notes of Rock Band and other games that use a similar art style kinda hurt my eyes, and I don't know why. The engine sounds fun, but I don't wanna play it at the cost of major eye strain.
On another note, absolutely sick run my guy. I just watched your performance at GDQ from a few days ago and between that and this, I'm just so impressed. GL on Expurgation and Constellation! I'd kill to see those FCs.

Honestly after playing this it's really hard to go back to clone hero, the visuals alone make clone hero feel completely outdated
the visuals are based on rockband 4
hard disagree, I hate these zones. Clone heroes zones are my fave out of all the games
