That said, if the Lebanese government really does want to protect their country, they need to launch their own operations to clamp down on Hezbollah and prevent Hezbollah from attacking Israel from their own territory.
The lebanese army is not self suficient and power enough to deploy such operation. Even if Lebanon is 40% christian the suni muslins and druzes somehow tolerate Hezbollah, even if they don't agree with them. Invading Lebanon and killing christians is neither the right thing to do in any case

The West is obsessed with de-escalation. The strategy is not escalate to de-escalate, but hit disproportionately in order to re-establish deterence. For the last decade or two, Israel started playing along with the Western goal of de-escalation. 7th October and everythimg we have found ouy since, is the proof of the folly of this strategy. Public opinion demanded a change of tack, and a return to the Ben Gurion doctrine. Deterence is the goal, de-escalation is not the goal, but how we know we have re-established deterence.

The West is obsessed with de-escalation. The strategy is not escalate to de-escalate, but hit disproportionately in order to re-establish deterence. For the last decade or two, Israel started playing along with the Western goal of de-escalation. 7th October and everythimg we have found ouy since, is the proof of the folly of this strategy. Public opinion demanded a change of tack, and a return to the Ben Gurion doctrine. Deterence is the goal, de-escalation is not the goal, but how we know we have re-established deterence.
