Climax Rag is a a great composition too. Love it so much when Tuba Skinny played Ragtimes. Especially the two rarities by May Aufderheide the Dusty Rag and The Thriller Rag.
Well done, brenda mello. They are to go back to the First Strain (Theme A) and play it one more time before launching into the Third Strain ((Theme C).

You're on the right lines, brenda mello. But on this occasion the Jury requires a little more than that. As they are already playing, why would they be asked to 'join in'?
@@PopsCoffee I can only think of one other thing is that she wants them to continue playing at that point. If that's not it I give up.....................
Right, brenda mello. The Jury has decided in your favour. The full explanation is that they are just coming up to a two-bar 'break' (01:25 to 01:27), where it is common for just one player to take it. If Shaye had not signalled, the other two would probably have dropped out just for those two bars, leaving her to play it. For an example of someone taking a solo two-bar break (Barnabus, on a signal from Shaye), watch 01:45 - 01:48.
Many thanks, James. We have analysed this one before, so let's just have some challenges, for those who like such things:- Q. 1. Who composed 'Climax Rag' and in which year?
Get this; not a single musical instrument that’s being played in this band is wired into anything. That means if the power were to go out, they can still keep playing.

A great Rag that we have heard from them before. As fresh as it was when first written and played. Great sound and picture.
Ok, I tried to sit still. You know what? It worked for half a second 😉 Thank you James for another great video.
Sit still ? Impossible !! Thank you James...great sound and video ... nice view of Robin's "dancing hands"

Q. 7. Who takes the solo chorus when the band plays through the Main Theme (the third strain, also known as 'The Trio') for the third time?
Correct! Well done, Dave, and thanks for joining in the fun.
Q.5. What is meant by Shaye's hand-on-head signal at 01:35?
Usually means to go back to the ''top'' or beginning...................
Well done, brenda mello. They are to go back to the First Strain (Theme A) and play it one more time before launching into the Third Strain ((Theme C).
It means that she has read at least as far as Chapter 22 of her complimentary copy of 'Playing Traditional Jazz" signed by its author.
Quite right, Axel!
WOW!!!! only jusy uploaded to YT.... great to hear new videos ...still sounding tight

Q. 3. At which point does the Second Strain (Theme) start?
Brilliant again, Dave. Perfect answer. Your bottle of Vintage Bordeaux is on the way!
Q.2. In which key is the band playing at the start?
Q. 4. Why does Shaye wave her cornet to both sides at 01:24?
She usually does that when wants Craig and Barnabus to join in...............

Spot on, Dave! Well done.

Absolutely right. Well done!
