MOST Adventurous thing you can do in Montenegro | Canyoning through Nevido Canyon

- After a week and a half in Bosnia and Herzegovina, our Balkans road trip continued in Montenegro! This tiny country is packed with a ton of beauty and we spent a couple of days in the incredible Durmitor National Park in the far North of the country.
We started with our biggest adventure in the Balkans yet, canyoning in Nevido Canyon. This canyon is around 4 kilometers long, the height of the canyon walls stretches as high as a few hundred meters and it can be as narrow as 2-3 meters in some places. We spent the day making our way from the top to the bottom of the canyon, swimming through the narrow canyon walls, jumping off waterfalls, and sliding down and climbing over rocks. It was an adventure to say the least but also the scenery in Nevido Canyon is stunning!
The next day we did a short but rewarding hike to Veliko Skrcko Lake. The mountains in Durmitor National Park are incredibly rugged and beautiful. The landscape was breathtaking every step of the way and we were rewarded at the end with a crystal clear lake and a nice swim to cool us down before the hike back!

What an incredible adventure and life experience.

Love it! So fun seeing these "lesser known" countries. Everything looks so beautiful...wow. Would you say as a country it's relatively "cheap" or how would you rate it?
Nate! So glad you are enjoying these videos. As far as our Balkans road trip and the countries we visited, I would say the list from most expensive to least expensive would look like this ... Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia & Herzegovina, and finally the least expensive would be Albania. All of these counties are less expensive than Western Europe for sure! But also certainly more expensive than somewhere like Southeast Asia...

I can't remember his name, but he was walking barefoot through the grass when one of those Montenegro Mountain Snakes crossed his path.
He never looked back.
Funny you should ask that! We didn't mention it in the video (mostly because the audio when we tried was just too bad) But Nevido Canyon is actually considered the LAST discovered canyon in Europe! The first person to successfully run that canyon did it in 1965!

I think it was around 3-4 hours, if I remember correctly. :)
