We always kept at minimum one SC/PT SINCGARS preset for emergency use, ie MEDEVAC with an allied military that you don't have comms with. But of course that's for absolute emergencies when SHTF. SC/PT in an operational setting are used on TSM/TSM-X nets in military operations-- Special Operations were the pioneers in TSM. See Thales/Trellisware/Silvus radios. Btw, on SINCGARS, it's Cipher Text (CT), not "Secure Communications". "secure communication (SC)" and "single channel (SC)" just sounds confusing.
We used to pickup a TV station from Savannah from Ft. Stewart. It was an offset freq
My hero
It will "work fine" the instant you connect an RF cable to the radios RF port which is naked in this video.
Never in a military setting should PT and SC be used. The radio is designed to be used with frequency hopping (FH) and Secure communications (SC).
lol, you high?
How to power it up
You’re not wrong, but its still authorized in some situations.

Thats why he said basic.

Should explain all abbreviations so the audience knows what you are describing!!!
Especially me (I am chinese!!)

PT = plain text
SC = single channel
