Wow you're out here putting educational things in yours and being inspirational while I'm just slapping in passwords, song lyrics, and lists of things I have to do/don't want to forget/prices. I'm inspired
@@dozyghoul I apologize for how I worded my comment. I was not mocking you or trying to offend. I was actually making fun of myself for being much older and having basic lists when I know I can do better
@nomadkat6836 you didn't offend me at all! Don't worry about it 😅🤎 I just meant I don't want to make anyone feel bad if their commonplace books aren't as "educational" as long as it works for you and makes you happy 🥺🤎
I am only 7 mins in and really loving your layout and creativity! I just received my Field Notes in the mail and am looking to setting mine up with the intention to expand my knowledge in/with the Arts. I just started up my 3rd career in my 40’s and feel the need to have something to go back and be able to reference…this is perfect! The funny thing is I too recently went down the rabbit hole 🕳️ 🐇 with quantum physics because I was trying to grasp how to create 3D dimensionality on a 2D surface low and be hold I was going through a worm hole learning about the multiverse theory, 11D,quantum jumping, my mind has been ignited…and I feel the need to recall this interesting information. Anyhow TYFS! 🧿❣️✨
i’d been waiting to watch this video on a day i was feeling a bit off and i’m so glad i did! your books are an inspiration and also thank you for mentioning me! you’re so sweet 🥺 thank you for sharing all of your commonplace books! i’m glad you’ve been able to find your stride with them! 💛
I enjoyed your flip-through of your cute little commonplace notebooks! You could get a a6 traveler's notebook cover for them to keep them together if you wanted. 💕
I'm really enjoying these types of flip-through videos lately; it's very interesting listening to people talk about them! I'll definitely try to do something similar when I achieve full financial autonomy 😆😆
i just recently started commonplacing and i loved seeing all your commonplace books! also shoutout to a fellow LOTR reader :) my favorite entry was your creative writing! it was beautifully written. would love to see more of your creative writing snippets in your commonplace books in the future ^^
Your book one is the one that has inspired me a lot and now I want to start commnonplacing!! I already write journals which are kinda like em but your video among the many I have watched actually make sense to commonplace bc it encompasses random knowledge u learn about and especially as a neurodivergent person I do that a lot and want to keep in a place I can rmmbr.
Thank you so much! I'm trying to embrace the messy in my recent commonplace book. I want it to feel like a chaotic writer's book and not perfectionist 🥺🤎
I loved hearing all your the stories connected to your books! Also the fact that you had a physics hyperfication 😂also i love all your little sticker doodles!
Okay NOW, I’m writing my last comment 🙈 Sorry for taking up so much space but just wanted to end with that I’m sold now on that I want to try out Field Notes some day too since I need more “small victories” in my life & the thought of finishing one book & start a new one & then have a bunch of them like you have here is so satisfying to think about! 🙈
I accidentally found your channel whilst trying to work out how I want to CP. initially I was going to use an A5 notebook in the cover of my A5 planner but I hear what said about “small victories” and I really need more of those in my life 😜 I find it easier to write with a fountain pen due disability, I experienced more fatigue with ball and gel pens, even though I have enjoy gel pens too. I have decided to go with TC Inserts as I have those in stock. I was so moved and inspired by you creative writing, I hope you realise how GOOD you are and do hope you continue and pursue it more. Also found your incredible mind and thinking so interesting to hear through your lovely voice than I am now subscribed to hear and learn more from you. Thank you for a great video. Varsha (also in London - so nice to find more Londoners on YT🎉) 🫶🏽🙏🏽🙌🏾🎉✍🏾🙏🏽
I love your little books. I bought the common place planner or common planner to use as a common place book. Have you ever thought of digitizing your entries for a second brain? Obsidian, Notion, something like that? I am going to continue the study of my just completed Masters Thesis, defend Friday 3/11-2023, in my books. Now that there is no pressure, I feel the desire to study it at my own pace. Go back to my hyperfixation it just for its sake. On your note on Tom Barbadian in Book #3: What do you think of Peter Jackson, not wanting to include Tom Bombadil l in the LOTR movie series, and just dumping the swords on the hobbits later in the book. This made me irate towards the whole of it. I could go on forever as a LOTR bible thumper. I once worked on a Multi-User Dungeon based on the 3rd age designing areas. I got assigned the Old Forest, and frankly to not even be considered in the movie these two parts of the trip to Bree was disappointing.
I'm not really a fan of digital planners! I need to see it physically and have it tangible 🤎 Thank you for watching my video! As for LOTR, i love the films so much, so i don't mind because i feel like Peter Jackson is the only one who could've done those films justice
I am still trying to understand commonplacing. I have attempted it in my current journal like I will be reading a book and really like a certain paragraph so I will go ahead and write it down, only because I like it. I am still getting to grips with it though xxx
Two more things! I think I need to search for that article about good conversations 😊 And two, I really like the look of & how you’re using the margins. I’ve experimented a bit with doing something similar in my current notebook, but somehow it doesn’t look quite right, but I don’t know why I feel that way 🤷🏻♂️🙈
@@dozyghoulOh yes, that might be the thing actually! I need to try that & see how that works ☺️ I don’t know if it’s because the Leuchtturm notebooks doesn’t have the margin on the pages to begin with as Field Notes have & maybe that’s why I feel like it doesn’t feel quite right? 😅🙈
Oh I really enjoyed watching this video & hear you talk about your notebooks! I was very tempted to try out Field Notes when I first saw Megan use hers, but never ended up doing so because they were out of stock for a loooong time. Now I’m just a couple of pages short of finishing my second Leuchtturm1917 A6 dotted notebook & I have a brand new one waiting for me, but there’s something that’s speaking to me regarding the Field Notes ones too. Although I probably will go through them really fast 🙈 Is the paper as bright white as it looks? And do you know if the paper is fountain pen friendly too?
Thank you so much for watching! I love the field notes! It's not too bright for me, but it really depends on personal preference 🤎 I don't use fountain pens, but I don't think it is fountain pen friendly
Oh thank you so much for your reply! I totally missed it & saw it just now 🙈 I’d love to have as bright white paper as I can, since I like that the most, so that sounds great! Oh that’s what I’ve been able to find out too, that they aren’t particularly fountain pen friendly 😕 Although I could use other pens to write in them since I have quite a few 😝🙈 Do you prefer the grid one over the dotted? I saw that Field Notes have a black one that’s dotted too 😊
