    Well done, Holly! Chainsaws are monsters to work with in forested areas, good and bad. So many variables! Just keep working and learning. Just remember all trees are different. Even the same species. Just a tip: If you hit a hard knotted spot a few inches behind the bark (where a former thick branch once sprouted out and was sawed off) the saw can kick out unexpectedly, so do not ever line up your face right behind the chainsaw! Treat every experience as a learning experience and you'll never stop learning! =)

    I use 3 different size chainsaws. I always use the lightest one that will do the job! lol Great Video

      Thanks! Good to know. This one really isn't too heavy or too large luckily. :) I am starting to get used to it.

    Nice work Holly! Make sure to use fresh gas without ethanol. Also, store your mower properly this winter. You are awesome!

    Your determination is admirable. I wonder how long it took you to get the mower working.? Anyway I knew if it could be fixed, you'd do it...I only started using a chainsaw in the last year. Mine's about half the size of yours, but surprisingly effective...but yes I was also very nervous when I first started using it...btw Holly! you've previously mentioned having pains in your right arm, so it’s great to see you pull that cord with such gusto. I hope it’s a sign that your arm doesn’t trouble you now.🙏

      @@joebowieaddick Thanks, Joe! How's it going with using your chainsaw? I like the smaller ones but I think the size I got is ok luckily. I am so happy that my shoulder issue has been non existent lately and using the chainsaw and mower haven't caused any problems. I am so happy about that. How's your garden?

      @@LifeDIY That's great to hear, Holly! I hope other issues you've shared with us before, are on the up as well.? I'm loving the chainsaw. It did a great job, on an out of control 30 year old cherry tree. I'm chuffed with how it's looking now...The garden is looking really nice this year, thanks. I just wish the rain would back off a bit! :) I'm sure you’re feeling the same way, it's hard work at times, but so rewarding...I've uploaded a couple of new bits on IG.

    I'm guessing that fuel line was clogged and draining it cleared it. Nice work Holly.

    You've earned an honorary man card! Great work not giving up on the lawn mower! It took me years to figure out the check list: First, if you left gas in over the winter, it won't start. If you replace the gas and it still won't start, probably the air filter needs changed. If that doesn't work, then spark plug. If it still won't start, check to see if it has a fuel filter. They need gas, air and spark or the 4 letter words will be flying! Other question is do you still take either MNM or NR? I've got hypothyroid and wondering if it would give me a boost of energy?

    • @LifeDIY
      @LifeDIY  Місяць тому

      Thank you so much, Keith! I feel like I should take some notes here on the check list. :) I need to make sure I get the lawn mower ready to go for this winter so I don't have these issues again. So thank you! Recently I've been taking NMN - just the pure powder because I'm adjusting to life without coffee and want to boost my energy. I do feel like it helps a bit, but it's subtle. I used to notice major improvements in energy from Thorne's NR - I think it's called Resveracel. Are you going to be taking any medicine for your thyroid? I used to buy a thyroid supplement product from Whole Foods ages ago and it helped me more than any other supplements - it was a Whole Foods brand thyroid support supplement and I felt some energy when taking it. Otherwise, there are some other decent ones on Amazon - I think Life Extension and Now both sell one. And, there's a "thyroid multivitamin" by Dr. Westin Childs and that's a great one. Hypothyroidism is not fun. Have you been tested for Hashimotos? It helps to know if that's an issue too.

    • @keith4596
      @keith4596 Місяць тому

      @@LifeDIY That really is the order for mowers! If you go through the checklist, you can always figure out the problem. I don't have Hashimotos although I have a sister that does. I don't take any meds but I do supplement with iodine. I find that helps. I eat a carnivore based diet with lots of grass fed beef, beef fat and organ meats. That has helped too. Forcing myself to exercise also helps. Otherwise I'm a total slug. I checked on the thyroid multivitamin. ALL the vitamins listed are in beef liver! It does amazing things. I put in a food processor with a little water and a little baking soda and then freeze in ice cube trays. It sounds gross, but I can eat these w/o tasting the liver. It will make you age in reverse. But I still lack consistent energy, especially in the morning. People that take NMN seem to always comment on the burst of energy. I think I'll give it a try. Thanks!

    Re: using a chainsaw Go girl! 😅🌲🌲🌲. I recently replaced our old mower with a Ryobi. It runs on a battery and comes with a recharger. It’s lightweight and amazingly easy to mow. I bought a Ryobi blade edger also. It took me a few tries and it did the job.
