- Dragon Ball Online (ドラゴンボールオンライン, Doragon Bōru Onrain?, Korean: 드래곤볼 온라인) (officially abbreviated as DBO) is a massive multiplayer online role-playing game being developed simultaneously in Japan and South Korea by NTL, set in the Dragon Ball universe, first introduced by the Dragon Ball Japanese manga in 1984. Dragon Ball Online takes place on Earth, 216 years after the events at the conclusion of the Dragon Ball manga series. A beta testing of Dragon Ball Online was initially announced to begin in South Korea during the summer of 2007 with a Japanese beta to soon follow,but has been delayed and was slated for the second half of 2009.In March 2009, it was announced that TBWA\Korea obtained the marketing rights for Dragon Ball Online and would run a full-scale marketing campaign from April to August 2009.
Series creator Akira Toriyama has a great deal of creative control over the project, both contributing to and supervising the story and art design, including character and location arrangements.It has been stated that Toriyama has been working on character designs for this project for the last five years.

It was a Korean MMO so IDK if they were. But yeah it is inspired. I wish they turned some of them into official characters if only so we could see more of the Human (Saiyan Descendant) and Namekian.

Actually they are the descendants of the cast.
I remember part of the plot that I got from the trailers was that they could go back in time to see Goku and the others. Aside from that I think the implication is that the characters are all descendants from the cast, at least the two we see fighting are most likely since they mirrored Goku and Piccolo.

Well some of the old characters are still alive like Krillin leading the Turtle School and Tenshinhan leading the Crane School (and the Announcer who was wished to be immortal for the tournament I think), but yeah mostly it's "the next generation".

First time seeing this intro,and it definitely looks like someone loves the Namekians as much as I do.
If you thought a fight with a Namekian was gonna be easy,expect an all out WAR to be coming towards you.
I think that particular Namekian is a Dark Namekian. Some of the Namekians when they settled on Earth, set up where Demon King Piccolo's throne used to be and were corrupted by his lingering essence.
In this game namekians were the 2nd best at pvp (first was majin) and they were n1 in farm with the dark warrior class i think i don't remember
I wish Xenoverse took more inspiration from this game. The world feels more alive like they’re actually in the future. Plus it had more villains than just Towa and Mira. If Xenoverse had more RPG elements like Kakarot, and there was a progression system like going from Dragon Ball to Z levels of fights it would be the next game ever, and they wasted it by simply retelling Z, GT, and Super.
Still watching in 2023 the ancestor of xenoverse. The namekian transformation is the beast gohan inspiration (thunder, red eyes, purple aura).

what a waste for a game with great potential, imagine so much more content the developer could add into an already excellent masterpiece, the concept of the game is really well presented throughout the whole gaming experience
Maybe coming during the super era would have helped it, it certainly boosted heroes

@@LinceSenseiNah there were humans just all of the playable ones were descended from Saiyans. It didn’t matter much in game, because to go SSJ you needed to ask Shenron and according to the lore, most humans are Saiyan Descendants anyway in the future.
This had so much potential. If it wasn't bogged down by MMO combat and gameplay...somewhere between this and Xenoverse is my dream Dragon Ball game; one with your own created character, an original plot, and exploration, but with fast paced and fun combat.

I ain’t gonna lie, if they upgrade the graphics and add a lot more customization features, they could bring this game back and it’d be very popular in the dragon ball community. I mean sure they may need to update the story line for super and stuff but I feel as thou it’d be an amazing game to play with friends

XenoVerse feels like a spin off of this or a watered down version
Xenoverse is an excellent spiritual successor, at least for the whole Time patroller plot element. It has however the whole adventurous first-DB/Dragon-Quest side missing.

Podrá haber pasado todo un tiempo o una década y aún así no puedo dejar de acordarme cuando jugué por primera vez este juego ,las personas que conocí y con las que entable buenas amistades ,la verdad este sí es un juego que para mí se lleva todo mi respeto y cariño . Ojalá llegarán a sacar una nueva versión con más contenido para consolas de sobremesa .
Este juego prometia demasiado, una lastima que eligieran las consolas y se cambiaran al xenoverse.
@@franciscosalinas9118 hubiera Sido muy bueno que el xenoverse hubiera seguido la fórmula pero como un action rpg no como lo vimos ,si no que más pegado al dragón ball online ,con un mundo abierto y extenso ,algo hermoso se podría hacer y se podrían cumplir los sueños más grandes de los fans de estar en el mundo de dragón ball y tener sus propios personajes e interactuar con los héroes y villanos de la historia clásica y Canon ,algo como z kakarot pero con el avatar .
no creo que un mmo para consolas sea buena idea, en especial si sigue siendo rpg, para empezar compactar todo en un control de ps5 por ejemplo suena un tanto desastroso...
@@franciscosalinas9118 bueno realmente lo que paso es que se lleno de jugadores americanos y extranjeros cuando el juego que a su vez ahuyentaron a muchos jugadores chinos con decirte que para el año en el que cerro el juego era mas facil encontrar un mexicano que a un chino y el sistema de pago estaba centrado en china y korea lo que hacia que el contenido de paga no funcionara para los jugadores extranjeros que se apropiaron del server ya que era un desmadre pagar por cash.
recuerdo que un amigo bastante mayor que yo en esa epoca lo hizo, era trabajoso y tuvo que hacer movimientos en el banco para hacerlo.
honestamente creo que es el mejor mmo que he jugado y jugue a 4 hasta que me aburrieron, ademas de aion ninguno era tan estupida e innesesariamente abierto como este, no te sentias limitado de a donde podias ir y volar era un plus enorme, podias tomar una parte y decir "hey vamos a juntarnos aca" y te apropiabas de una pequeña parte detras de una montaña para luchar o aprovechar la teletransportacion para juntar a todos en una zona usando la teleportacion inversa de la pet, te sentias sorprendentemente libre en ese juego en especial por que fuera de las dungueons y las maquinas del tiempo viajar no nesesitaba pantallas de carga, estaba desbalanceado y los nameks estaban rotos especialmente cuando quitar las potas de fighters... era hermoso TTwTT
@@carlosrayz Actualmente ya me planteó cómo sería ,pero podría ser el mmorpg de dbo pero con los controles del kakarot ,podría ser de utilidad . Pero luego pensé ,y su mezclamos los dos juegos? Un juego que no deba ser online o puede serlo como el xenoverse, por ejemplo ,poder hacer misiones tanto online como off ,que tenga un estilo de pelea mezcla del db online y Kakaroto pero con los controles de este último ,pudiendo pegar con los botones que tiene ya por predeterminado y que esta vez tu puedas seguir la historia de dragón ball ,quizás un tipo de historia alterna en la cual tú vienes tipo 800 años después y debes hacerte cargo de las amenazas que hayan
Que puedas tener cápsulas de curación ,tengas hambre y puedas hacer el minijuego de la comida de z Kakaroto
También estaría epico poder usar naves a otros planetas y aprender la Teletransportación tiempo después para hacer esto
Y un menú de personalización totalmente mejor que el xenoverse,que puedas usar bigote sin necesidad de sacar la cicatriz.

Near the end they did so much right I think. I know its 13 years old now but love how they did the quick time faster than the eye can see fighting and I am a fan of the more fluid formed beam battle.

I also heard that you must have five Namekians transfer their power into one.
The only transformation in the game for namekians is giant so probably not
@@johnathanholmes1297 actually it was the "super namekian" at least in the game It's the transformation namekians had, god's and all in super didn't exist back then, so probably it's kind of a pseudo-super namek form made just so the scene can be more impactful
