In this video I'm showing swatches of all fourteen shades, colour comparisons to other Holo Taco polishes, and showing some ideas for how you can use these polishes in nail art designs. I have all but Party Punch. This is hands down my favorite formula, they are all gorgeous. I usually put a matching base down of a linear holo and layer the chunky glitter on top. I am worried HT will make all the glitters seasonal, so I am being stingy with mine.
I often do the same! They look great over the linear holos, and I think you’re right to be cautious in using them up
I like to do a linear or frosted metal base too. Then I need fewer coats of the glitter and it is less thick and textured on the nail. Speeds up manicure time as well. And I have all of them except Party Punch too! That one just never appealed to me but all the others are gorgeous.
I have every Holo Taco ever made and love each of them! The formulas are always easy to work with and layering one on top of another is easy and frequently surprising! I used to be only a crème girl but these polishes have changed me to a holo sparkling crazed fool!! 😂 I wear a topper on almost all of my other polishes now. It’s an expensive habit but well worth it for me! Thanks for sharing your layering ideas! 💕💅

Plumb luck is one of my all time favourite polishes. It’s so dimensional and beautiful, it looks stunning in direct and indirect light and I just adore that warm purple colour. I really hope they bring it back

This is my favorite formula. I have them all. I use them fully or as a topper. Instead of double glossy I do a layer of flakie taco (or matching colour flakie), then glossy. More holo is always good. 😁

I have a few of these, and I love Menchie the Cat and Frost Light. I have a hard time choosing any other manicures over those two polishes! They're so sparkly and cute.

To remove glitter polishes, I cut up a cotton round into 1/4 and soak them in some acetone and apply them to my nails, then I use these silicone reusable nail polish remover caps tips on top of the cotton rounds and let it soak for about 3-5 mins and it magically comes off. I feel like i was exfoliating my nails when I did the rubbing method.

I have all of them, hands down my favourite holo taco formula!! I used to be all about glitter on top of cremes, but with these I can never settle again, has to be all glitter all the time!!

UA-cam recommended this video to me…good call since I have all the Holo Taco glitters! This was a great overview. I need to try using them over another shade, your combos are great! What I do for glitter removal is use the nail clips with a half cotton ball and acetone and let them sit for three minutes. The polish almost completely slides off, and it’s so much less frustrating 🙂

I love your beautiful swatches! I had to keep the volume low because the volume on the background music was super loud. For that reason I couldn't here your descriptions. I only have 3 of the glitters because tow they are so hard to remove. I have to use the peeloff base coat to save time. But you've convinced me to get more!

I use pure acetone on round cotton pads inplace the acetone soaked pad hold it on top of two nails and press wait 10 seconds and pull off while pressing onto cotton on fingernail and it should come off cleanly! Use one cotton round for every 2 nails if it is particularly dark polish its worth it to use a cotton pad for each fingernail because fheolish will bleed into cuticles and nail beds a real pain in the arse so remember to hold the acetone wet cotton onto each nail for 10 seconds and with pressure press down wiggle cotton side to side to lift all polish and pull off over your nail if the cotton is acting sticky you either need to use more acetone or you are being impatient! Hope this helps yall!

My plan is to update this video roughly annually to include newer releases, and I’m also working on comprehensive reviews of other formulas for Holo Taco in the same vein! I love Holo Taco glitters. I have all of them except Party Punch, which I don't really think I would wear. I've also mixed a custom teal (Midnight+Pine) and a custom true violet (Midnight+Plumb). I think Play Rose is my most-worn glitter which was a surprise because I don't have any rose gold jewelry or accessories or anything- I never got into that trend. But on my nails I love the color.
I like to layer the glitters over HT frosted metals so they have shine in dim light or bright light.. (the metals are so shiny even in dim indoor lighting, I love that) Rainbow Snow over Gift Receipt. Play Rose over Cheap Champagne. Menchie over Fake Date. Gold Play Button over Frozen Benanas. Black Holo Wish over Heavy Metal Mixtape.

Hi! Was wondering what nail polish thinner would you recommend? Have been trying to find out any info and almost impossible to find one without bad reviews. Love your channel! Thank you for the informative videos/swatches!
Hiya! Thank you for the kind words! In general the polish thinner you use will depend on the polish you’re thinning- make sure the polish ingredients contain the ingredients of the thinner! I use the OPI thinner normally, it is butyl acetate and ethyl acetate, which are both ingredients in most nail polishes I own including Holo Taco. Just don’t use a thinner that has an ingredient that isn’t listed in the nail polish ingredients- ie, don’t use a thinner with heptane for Holo Taco polishes because they don’t contain heptane. Hope that helps!
I have Midnight Spark, Blue Freezie and Purple Slushie. I also have Flakie Holo Taco, Cosmic Unicorn Skin, Aurora Unicorn Skin, Peely Base Coat and Ridge-Filler Base Coat.

I wish I could say the same! I don't have Got Cake or the 1st anniversary collection, but at least Got Cake is going to come back at some point!!
@@NailArtbyTamsin I have the first anniversary box set. Got Cake I didn't get at the original release because life circumstances but got it this past September from a very kind woman on fb. I do wonder if the new formula will be the same as the old or if they had to dupe it.
Peely base lasts longer on me when my nails are longer. When my nails are short, it might last a day. When they're long, it'll last 4-7. If I want it to last less long, I apply it like a normal base coat. If I want it to last a long time, I apply like she says in the video. Also if I want it to come off sooner, I'll purposely shower more. If I want it to last longer, I'll take shorter showers. These tactics work for me, but everyone's different.
What kind of glossy taco you using on the end???
In most cases I'm using the Holo Taco Glossy Taco but in sometimes I use a Smudge Proof Top Coat (from Maniology) if I'm topping a nail art design.
Any advice on how to thin these out to revive them? I have a few glitter ones but they dried down to super thick and unusable even though the bottles were stored the same as my other nail polish and caps were closed etc. I'm not sure if normal nail polish thinner will work since these are a jelly base :( Sad I only got a few good uses out of them.
These should definitely be revivable! A good rule of thumb with polish thinner is to use a thinner that only contains ingredients that are listed on the nail polish ingredients. Holo Taco uses ethyl acetate and butyl acetate as solvents, so you can use any thinner that contains either of those. If a thinner contains an ingredient that ISN’T listed on the polish ingredients, you risk an unexpected reaction: for example some people used thinners with heptane for the glitter polishes and it caused the glitters to go cloudy. OPI Nail Lacquer Thinner contains just ethyl acetate and butyl acetate so that is a good option to use with Holo Taco polishes. Add 5-7 drops at a time and give it a good mix in between, if it’s still thick keep adding more thinner. Good luck!!

I buy them on Amazon. At the moment I’ve been using the OPI Nail Lacquer Thinner which should also be available through OPI stockists. Where are you based?

Are these polishes linear holo or another type of holo glitter ?
These are the mixed Holo glitter formula. There are varying sizes of glitter pieces. Planning a review of the HT linear holos in another video!!
i have naughty list on my nails right now and the finish is to die for honestly. unfortunately i feel like i only painted my nails twice (3 coats each) and the bottle is 75% empty 😂😂 anyone else feel this? i’ve used the linear holos a lot more (red licorice specifically) and feel like i’ve barely made a dent in them!
The glitters do get used up a bit more quickly, I guess that’s just one of the consequences of having chunky glitter in a polish!
I sad some of these were limited edition😢
