A little tip for the magnetic polishes from holo taco 💕 if you put a black polish down first, the magnetic effect looks even deeper! Wicked Potion is my favorite shade from the magnetics collection!
And if you loved the chrome polish definitely check out the other shades. the purple, blue, and pink are sooooo stunning.

POLISH PRO TIP:
Don't blow on your nails!
The water vapor in your breath prevents the ethanol in the polish from evaporating, so your nails will actually take longer to dry.
Sitting in front of a fan or even just flapping your hands back and forth will do a better job at drying them quicker.

I love Holo Taco! I’ve watched Cristine for 8 years and she really has put her heart and soul into this brand. I’m used to normal polish, so it was easy to use. I’m not a huge fan of gel nail polish. I want to be able to change my polish frequently.
Most nailpolish reviewers don't show when they mess up so it's nice to see an experience that's a bit closer to mine (and the average persons) for a change! ❤

As someone whose bathroom is basically a Holo Taco showroom, and a long time subscriber of yours, you bet I clicked immediately! I know you did a peely base, but I’m wondering how long they could last over gel. Looking forward to the Vietnam content too!
It lasted about 5 days over my gel

IMO if you're not into collecting a lot of polishes, just getting the linear/flakie holo taco top coat as well as other flakies or unicorn skins would make your manicure stand out!
yes please some one tell me if it's better but as much as i love these polishes they dry out on me and get goopy so i can't imagine having an arsenal to choose from. i feel they they'd go bad
@@emmyhynes5827 If they're going goopy you can add a little bit of nail polish thinner to loosen them back up (not nail polish remover though). Opi sells a great one that I use for some of my well used polishes. Also store your polishes in a temperate (no big temperature swings) environment and in the dark. I have polishes from 2008 still going strong by maintaining them like this
Additionally make sure the neck of your bottle isn't going all crusty, as this can stop your polish cap sealing correctly letting the alcohol and solvent evaporate off faster meaning you end up with goop. I use a bit of acetone on a paper towel and clean off the neck of the bottle if its getting really crusty to help with this.

@@emmyhynes5827so actualyl polish doesn’t really expire you just need to add a little thinner if it starts to get thick or gloopy. But I even have HT shades from the original launch 4 years ago that are super usable and good as new to wear today.
@@emmyhynes5827 The toppers are amazing! I own almost all of them and they really transform any manicure. My favorite toppers would probably be gold flake taco, any of the shimmers, and lunar unicorn skin. Also Holo Taco is about to release nail polish thinner very soon, it will save any of your goopy polishes over time so you won't ever have to throw them away.
@@emmyhynes5827you can always "revive" them with nail polish thinner! I have a lot of nail polish so I don't use them regularily and they will go dry. But nail polish thinner is a life safer!
Holo Taco is the only brand of nail polish I use now, the quality is just amazing. They also have incredible customer service, which to me shows how much of her heart & soul she has put into creating her brand. I also love how often she puts out new collections!
Just a tip for using holo taco chromes, they are meant to be used with their quick dry base and no top coat, just due to the formula of the polish. Love you sm tina!! i loved this video, I'm a huge fan of christine!

Uh, you definitely need a top coat with the chrome polish otherwise they just look very dull. But you're right about using the correct base coat with it.
@@erinbyers8275the opposite is correct. With this particular formula, a top coat actually dulls the chrome (although not by much, and of course the top coat makes it more long lasting so really it’s up to the wearer). Basically if you want as much chrome as you can get and you’re not worried about how long it lasts, no top coat is the way to go. It is strange because it’s the opposite to any other formula, but it’s similar to how top coat dulls out foils on nails, just some weird science
the nice thing about holo taco polish is when you paint the last nail on one hand the first is usually dry enough for the second coat. also if you let nail polish totally dry you can top with a uv gel top coat to make it last longer
I definitely like the unicorn skins way more over dark nails, and black gives me the best result!

As someone who's been following Tina for years and seeing her love for nail polishes and nail art, this is beautiful! Can't wait to also hopefully see a nail art video where she experiments with all the different formulas and finishes to create some designs.
I bought Halo Taco for the first time this month and I was not disappointed! The normal creme nail polish lasts more than any other nail polish I have used, around 15 days without even cracking! And I do home chores without gloves everyday. The ones with holo glitter lasts even more, I’m obsessed!
My sister is a huge HT fan, so it was cool to see your review. That last color was really pretty.
Late Checkout is the whole reason I made my first HT purchase, along with Tax Haven (coppery color-shifting w/ holo glitter), and it definitely required adding a bit of nail polish thinner after I used it the first time. I’m almost halfway through my bottle though so I need to restock whenever they restock some of Safiya’s collection and I make another big purchase.

I have pretty much everything Holo Taco has released and really enjoy them! I will say the specific polishes you selected were some of the more difficult ones formula wise. Like her linear holos the multi chromes and most the creme polishes are all amazing and easy to use.
Late Checkout is one of the harder ones to apply and does look rough on the first coat, don’t worry to much and just let it dry and add another and it all comes together though like you seemed to experience.
The pastel cremes especially Pinky Swear is kind of similar, I think it’s partially that type of pigment I experience similar things with most really pale pinks like that.
The magnetic takes some practice but you did great!

Omg painting with your nail on top of the magnet looks SO much easier than trying to rush to hold it over the polish, close enough to work but not touch it, in the few seconds you have to work with it. I bought some other magnetic polish years ago and ended up giving it away because it annoyed me so much that i could never do it fast enough

love holo taco nailpolish! im kinda surprised Tina blows on normal nailpolish, it doesnt speed up the drying process, and it can cause bubbles in the finished product.

@@beautifulgorgeousman I didn't know myself in the beginning either, same as if the top coat is too thick it can cause bubbles, so I use a thinner when it start to thicken 👍

I love Holo Taco! It lasts on my nails and is worth the money spent!
I have been using Holo Taco almost exclusively since it launched in 2019. I am super impressed with their longevity. A manicure can last me up to 2 weeks when I follow Cristine's guide to long lasting nails. Also due to the oiliness of my natural nails, the polish tends to pop off towards the end of those 2 weeks and I don't need to use a peely base coat or much nail polish remover/acetone. The peely base coat actually rarely even makes my nails last 24 h hahahaha

The Red is beautiful 💖💖 you can put a gel top coat over the polish to extend the wear...just make sure the polish is fully dried first .

im both gal and my trick is to have gel base and top coat over my regular nail polish and honestly last me as long as gel nails
@@moshimoxie how long do you wait between the gel application and the nail polish application?
@@solarmidnightsI can’t answer for her, but I put my normal nail polish just after I cured my gel base. Maybe there’s sometimes a 5 minutes lapse, in order for me to decide what I want to do. But as soon as gel is cured, you can do whatever you want! 😃
@@solarmidnights for the base once the gel is cured, either wipe off the stickiness or apply a layer of top coat then painting the regular polish right away. i wait about almost an hour if i painted 3 layers (minimum 20 mins) before top gel coat

I have every single polish they’ve ever released- I have a problem haha! 😅 You definitely picked some great ones to try- you can’t really go wrong with any of them, to be honest! One thing I will mention: when it comes to the magnetic polishes, when you put on the top coat, it’s recommended that you use the magnet one more time as you apply it- it really helps to lock in the magnetic effect and make it stay! I’m so glad you liked Holo Taco and hopefully you’ll try some of their other formulas in the future!!! 😊 Thanks for the awesome video, Tina!!! ❤️❤️❤️

I love HT and just exclusively buy their nail polishes. However, I’ve had a tough time with the chrome polishes because it would lift the color at the cuticles so I haven’t figured out how to lay the color 😢

if you want to preserve your fancy multi chrome polish, it looks perfect in one coat over a solid black creme
I've been a fan of Holo Taco for the last 3 years now. I agree the pink isn't the greatest (her easter pastel set has popping colors, but I bought it when it came out....still have not used it).
