If you are ever around Asheville, NC, you should visit the Biltmore House, which is another of the Vanderbilt homes. The area is still working to recover from Hurricane Helene right now, so maybe a future adventure for you.
You did a lot in one day! Such fun and interesting places. The rail bike did look so fun and you got some great drone footage there Cody. Beautiful sailboat too. I agree that sailing can be so peaceful! I can't wait to see where you go next. I guess I have to finally get to the northeast.....
I am so glad you love my home state!!! I always spent every summer in Newport with my grandparents you are seeing it at a gorgeous time. I know you show these videos after you leave where you are but it would have been a dream to meet you both!!!
Left RI for the second time just over a year ago. Grew up there. Owned a 38ft Saber sailboat. Now we are off-grid in Southern Oregon. When I was a kid I remember going on field trips to the Newport mansions. Lots of history in RI. Sailed to Block Island. Cutty Hunk, Marthas Vineyard, Nantucket and Nantucket. Use to visit Newport when the 12 meter boats were the thing back in the day. Left when I joined the USMC
Even though you’re in Rhode Island, I heard someone mention Maine. I’ve lived my entire life in Maine, and in the summers, when I was a teenager, I would clean cabins on the schooner The Adventure out of Camden. I had the good fortune to be able to go out on it for a week, as a guest, as an adult. A dream come true.
OMG. You guys! I love you are doing Newport now. Thank you for bringing me back to New England 🥳. I wanted to do the ride on the tracks it was in the summer, next year. ❤. I think it’s great you get to visit and appreciate New England
Stellar adventure! And just one day? i found myself smiling during the entire video. I got to go on a midday sail when I was in the Miami area for a hospital lab instrument training trip, many years ago. It was awesome, even though I did experience a bit of nausea.
I ran my last marathon in Rhode Island, and my wife ran the half. It was really hard watching her finish when I still had 13 more miles to go! The rail bike looks really cool! Watching from our Jasper cabin, almost heaven!
I went out there for the first time earlier in the month, I miss it already! There’s some nice beaches on the other side of the state like Misquamicut and Watch Hill. Highly recommend! Great vid!
My wife Dawn and I loved visiting Newport. The best part was sailing on the Schooner Madeleine. The Breakers was interesting from the filming of the Gilded Age to the fact that Gloria Vanderbilt's son, CNN's Anderson Cooper, used to live there.
Hey guys, thank you for sharing as always ,that area is very historical and yes very beautiful also to me sailing is like dancing with the wind it's pretty much a ballet with a powerful partner you don't want to piss off, lol enjoy your time traveling stay safe, keep up the great work.. Peace be the journey ☮️✌️
I like the sailboat adventure it’s not you but it made it more enjoyable to see you guys outside the box glad to see you again hope to see more real soon
😁 Oh how fun! The first thing I thought when he ask Cody his name, was.... That's Captain! Then you all went and ate at The Black Pearl. Loved the whole video. 😎💖
Yeah that was pretty cool video thank you it's funny how you never even think these things exist but then you bring a video and now I know sailing on a ship never had it done should I watch the video thank you YOU TWO be safe out there❤🎉
We love Newport. The mansions are amazing. For your New York list in Hyde Park is another Vanderbilt Mansion plus also the home of President Roosevelt. Another place to visit in NY is the 1000 Islands and see Boldt Castle and Singer Castle. We live in Central New and enjoy all your videos.
WOW THATS what I call MONEY 😆 What an amazing way to spend the day! I can’t get over the “ Cottage” . It was stunning! I’m so glad y’all took us there 🥰👏😎 God bless 🙏
Food looked great. I'd travel there just for the chowder. One of my favorite restaurants in Florida was destroyed in the last two hurricanes (The Rod and Reel, Anna Maria Island). Their chowder was great. Fortunately, R. I. is closer!
We went to the Biltmore last year at this time, it was pretty epic, too bad the hurricane devastated that area so its probably a no go for about a year. It makes this place look like.....well....a small summer cottage lol. The Biltmore has 250 rooms and like 43 bathrooms give or take.
Newport is a neat little town. So many mansions to tour and the Cliff Walk is neat. If i remember correctly, the back outdoor garden and terraces were used in filming "The Great Gatsby". Oh and straight down the "main street" is a glass blowing store. They have some amazing christmas ornaments! My aunt usually buys one each christmas but i don't remember the name
I’ve been to the builtmore in ashville but I would avoid that now to the hurricane damage in the area! If you get to Connecticut go to Mystic Seaport, it’s where the pirates stopped to get a rest after their days on the water. Also I highly recommend you go to Martha’s Vineyard and take the ferry over. Take the bus tour! Also a MUST is Salem Mass! Salem has a lot of high homes along the sea that were homes to the pirates. Of course check out the witch trials and the witches muses and go to the cemetary! Love love Salem!
Got a question how did they make All the mansions when we didn’t even have power tools 1895 and how does marble even so smooth with hammer and chisel and how do you burn a marble and concrete and how did they get concrete there when we didn’t have dump truck and compare it to what we have today 🤔🤔
Thanks guys this was a beautiful video! That palace is a real mind blower on how much money was put into those "society" homes. I can't even imagine how much time it took to just dust all those wall and fireplace details. Fully staffed and it had to be for them to live in such opulance . The bigger the better back them. Just think they also had another opulent home for the rest of the year!
The little railroad cars looks awesome and the lunch or dinner would be cool however, I have no idea how people live in big monstrosities like that “summer cottage”. That’s a whole different world away from most of us. I would not wanna live in something like that. Seems very cold. Beautiful but cold.
If you are ever around Asheville, NC, you should visit the Biltmore House, which is another of the Vanderbilt homes. The area is still working to recover from Hurricane Helene right now, so maybe a future adventure for you.
Thanks for the tip! We’ll add it to our list.
@@CodyandKellieyep. It’s the OG Vanderbilt “house” . Wink wink.
It may not be open since the Hurricane came through Ashville. The last thing I saw was that it was closed.
I was going to say the same thing lol I’ve never been there but it looks really cool especially around Christmas time
@@CodyandKellieyou will be blown away especially around Christmas when its decked out

If you've never been here, is an amazing place to visit. Thanks for sharing. Great memories.
Born an raised in RI 😄 thanks for making a video on a mostly overlooked part of the USA & New England
Now I'll have to put a trip to Rhode Island on my bucket list! The entire trip looked SO AMAZING! Thanks for sharing!
You won’t be disappointed!
I didn't want this video to end! I love escaping with y'all's exploring. Thanx for all the great videos.
Safe travels ✌️

I do want to ride that rail bike, I'm so jealous, but so glad that you guys got to experience it.
Great drone shots and wonderful editing. Thanks for a nice visit. Love to travel and explore. ❤ Ps---love a good clam chowder and crab cakes too. Yum

Lived in RI my entire life and have never been to the mansions. Have been on the Madeline tho....good time !
The Biltmore, known as Americas largest home, is located in Asheville I believe is in the same family. 😊
A must see!
An interesting rabbit hole, the Vanderbilt's. Not for the weak of heart, but eye opening.
😁 Oh how fun! The first thing I thought when he ask Cody his name, was.... That's Captain! Then you all went and ate at The Black Pearl.
Loved the whole video. 😎💖

You should see the Breakers at Christmas time
You all should do some videos in the baja peninsula in Mexico for the winter, that would be so cool, just saying 😎
We’ll definitely keep that in mind!

They also owned the Biltmore House.
I live 20 minutes away from this and had no idea the rail bikes exist….haha. I need to get out more….😂
You should definitely check them out!
@@CodyandKellie I only knew there was a dinner train you can go on in Newport.

Absolutely fantastic, Cody you are so lucky that you have a very amazingly beautiful wife
just like rich folks, let you see the cottage but not the big house.
😂
