My corolla has 164 thousand miles on it. I'm not sure it the valve gasket was ever previously changed, but I got a lean condition. Changed the spark plugs and noticed oil on 2 of the spark plugs and a little drippy oil coming from the spark plug seals I believe. But a review on a new valve cover gasket said "don't buy. Changed my gasket with this new one and now it's leaking all the time." Keep in mind my car runs fine and only shakes very little at a stop. So does anyone have similar experiences with the Toyota corolla 2007? Should I just leave it as it is and drive till it shakes a lot more? (if it ain't broke don't touch it).... I also noticed a slight black carbon looking build up on the piston heads when I looked down the spark plug hole. I think that's normal as long as it's not a lot? Or even a little carbon is bad for the engine?
I've changed my spark plugs and it feels slightly better but it does sometimes shake at random. A subtle shake.
