- Attending gasser events you always run into some old timers with stories from the good old days and most are quite the characters! Local resident and ex marine Alexander Case is one of those guys. Listen as he breaks down the details on his daily driven, all steel, altered '65 Dodge Coronet Hemi. The supercharged keith black 624 ci hemi sports a 115 lb (Danekas bros. out of Los Angeles,Ca in the 60's and 70's ) magnesium super blower along with 8 deuces that draws stares from pedestrians and oncoming traffic as this car is driven everywhere. Alexander will tell you he's more in for the show and for the spectators this day at the 2nd Annual Glory Days Event at Byron Dragway. Alexander says his car is very capable of 10 second runs with a change of the worn bf goodrich radial t/a rear tires but like he joked "It's all about the fuel economy"! #gasser #worldsonly#dualmagnetos

Thanks! Yes he had some trouble getting traction overpowering those street radial tires.
Exhibition Gasser, daily driver, Semper Fi !

Just saw this car last night at the smokin coop in Belvidere IL. Absolutely awesome car.
Thank you everyone for the comments on the Red Ram.
That's a sweet car you have and love how you named it after the Dodge Hemi of the 50's that thing is awesome. I bet you turn heads everywhere you go in that thing
Love it!!!
Legend! Hope to see him at Byron this year
Top fuel economy lmao . I love this guy already.
He's quite the character with a sarcastic sense of humor 😄
Again, thanks a million.
@@alexandercase7423 Your welcome! You should do drag weekend coming up 👊🇺🇲
Super cool!
this guy is legit my hero
So cool that theres still guys out there that have the balls to do this .....god bless 'merka!
You don’t need balls you just got to love mopars
@@jeffleblanc8850 that in itself self needs balls....
Thanks a million Sir, means a great deal. Not dead yet. Adult child here !
@@alexandercase7423 Hey dude I'm in New Zealand I've got a 68 camaro...absolutely love gassers ...unfortunately...I love sex ...so four kids later...no gasser...but have managed to keep some toys😁...keep fighting the fight bruva....🍻🍺
I have to keep watching it over and over I was born in 59 so just missed the gasser era, But I'm definitely hooked on them and what an old-time beast absolute classic and doesn't have a trailer can't make that crap up looks like something straight out of mad max three thumbs up to you sir
See me some time some where and get a free ride and personal tour !
Alexander Case: Stranger things have happened in both our lives. I'm watching it again, what an absolute beast .... in all the best ways
8-2 barrels that is crazy time...... WOW
Man I would love to have that as a daily driver that thing ROCKS!!
Now that’s pretty cool. There isn’t a snowflakes chance in the Aussie outback that I could get that registered & insured to drive on the streets here in Australia.
Cheers😊
Thanks for watching and love you crazy aussies!
Michael Brennan how funny, here in Australia we’re of the belief you can get away with that setup all over the US.
Cheers😊
john probst yeah you’re probably right, depends what state you’re in. The guy I bought my pickup from in LA has a pretty crazy 59 Biscayne. Just seeing these rat rods & other cars that have been radically modified we think “you lucky buggers can do whatever you like”
Cheers & keep safe in that part of the world😊
Please invite me to show up Down Under !
Alexander Case hahaha you’re invited mate, just rock up anytime.
Cheers 😊
I love how he named the car Red Ram that was what the Dodge Hemi back in the 50's were called
bro thats sick af
Major power vibrates this phone.
Love the car brother incredible,,,truly smiles per mile
Means a lot to this ole dog, thanks.
Damn, I wish to have a grandpa like this guy!!😁👍
I can adopt, have faith.
Someone needs to send this to Lambchop
Let lambchop do a few passes..
What are the two barrel carbs? Strombergs?
Only the OGs drive their shit to the track. I've never trailered any of my cars anywhere. We dump way to much time and money into these things to only enjoy them for a few seconds at a time. You can run your car all night, and make a few more street passes on the way home.
This is a real nostalgia/hot rod
Cross between a gasser/a/fx.car!
Real cars are driven,not trailerd.
You know what your talking about. Thank you.
So Awesome
That is one mean ride would love to drive this car on the street my favorite mopar body style you don’t trailer it I love it it would look good with back end jacked up to take that south east gassers beautiful ride love it
Thank you and free ride with personal tour if we meet !
Doesn't get much cooler than that!!!
Definitely would love to drive every day with that. Boss at work " Why you Here so early, Dam Cops wanted to race. Guess Who One ".
Very good, thanks.
Hell yes!
Thanks !
I dig it love old school a/fx , gassers and even cooler it's street legal dual plug, blown hemi and can't smoke the tites and serms slow for what it is
You meant him spinning the tires half way down the track... on them street tires lol
@hill billy Exactly and for the people that think the car is slow they don't notice when he lets off to get traction it boogies! 🤙
Jeff Miller if you took it for a drive you would prob shit your pants it’s faster than you think a set of tires and a set of ladder bars and bam gone strait axel 4 gears are a handful to drive
It’s so fun to drive.greasey passes the whole way. Slow on grease, yes but turns heads. Thanks, sounds like you know what we old guys used to play with. I still play with blocks as an adult child in my 70s.
Brody: "We're going to need bigger tires."
Nah
Daily driver? My man must have one heck of a fuel budget
That's a good ol boy right there..
Thank you
That entire motor likely weighs about the same as a cast iron small block. Lotta power in a light package right there.
Correct you are, thanks.
If he could get it to hook up I wonder what those numbers would be! Who remembers when this track was called Rockford Dragway? I do and I even raced on it then!!!
10's easy and yep back the day Rockford Dragway. Four lane racing some of the big names were there Don Garlits, Jungle Jim. I acquired a bunch of old Polaroids from the 60's found in a garage sale.
I remember. Now in my 70s
I would love to know what time he would get if he had some traction!
Easy 10's
victoryredcolorado I was going to say 10s al day long usuall like a 1040
Me to !
It's a beast and also economical.
That Hemi is "Top Fuel" level here in South America.
I would love to drive it down there if it was safe, but not now, thanks.
Well she's real fine in her 409
And he's in the garage playing with his hemi dodge.
Cool ole car and driver combination.
You just don't get to see a true love story like a boy and his dodge.lol
Great car
I do all I can to please with rides and tours. Love story, Yes. Adult child here, thanks.
Was that the red ram race team from back in the day it looks familiar
Not sure but he told me he wanted to remove it.
victoryredcolorado I think it is from the race team it sort of looks a little Mickey Mouse for the car
Now that's kool
In the early eighties I had a 54 Ford pickup I put a 1956 Chrysler 354 Hemi in it. I had four Stromberg 97s on it for a while then I put a spread bore 750 on it. It was my daily driver in Los Angeles point being people would go what is the engine blah blah blah blah blah oh my God. Lot of fun long time ago
Sounds bitchin! 💪👍
Too f ing cool
Thanks a million !
This is what I want my retirement to look like. I'm a little young, so I really hope gas is still a thing by that time
how ya thinkin on that now
I respect him for driving it but I would lift the back end up and put a ladder bar set up like the gassers all make for ther cars I think if h3 had a wider tire and slicks he would pop the wheels eveygear so it would be a hand full to drive I said in a previous comment that 1040 in the quarter it will prob go 9s set up a little diff it’s got ball and he is only doing the 1/8 mile buy the looks of things
Hey! I know him!
That thing is scary!
Scares me too ! A lot to Handel even going straight if ya can ! Thanks
Excuse me, but Dick Landy had dual ignition 55 years ago, and that Coronet is not altered wheelbase.
For all those hand rubbed hot rod guys out there who keep their cars in heated carpeted garages... SELL YOUR CAR TO SOMEONE WHO WILL USE IT .
Love seeing real cars on the road 😎
Now here is someone who knows what their talking about ! Thanks a million.
👍👍👍👍Mopar 2U!👍😎😎🇺🇸 Epic!
Why would you lift the front end so high? Aren’t you supposed to do that to the rear?
It's an old school trick that was utilized back in the day when tire technology sucked. Cars were very traction limited back in the late 50's and early 60's. Having the front end jacked up high aided in weight transfer to the rear wheels when the car launched = better traction.
Hello and thanks for your interest and comment. Gassers in the 60s didn’t, have the traction or tires we have today, so we used weight transfer by raising the front end to help with that. We also installed straight axles to cut weight and altered the wheel base to get as much weight as possible over the rears. The problem with all of that is the cars became airborne and very difficult to control. Many of the early Gassers were wrecked and that is why I use street tires. I would rather burn the tires than wreck the car.
Only at Byron.
Thankyou
Uber cool.
Now that is how to LIVE
Yes sir, correct.
Not enough MEAT on that rear!!
Street legal ???? Maybe Illinois but nowhere close in Wisconsin.
No hood
Driver obstruction (engine too high above hood line)
Exhaust
He has exhaust that exits the side he took off. Also has a hood. Drives it daily and has current plates so yeah its legal here.
Hello and thanks for the comment. I have driven this Gasser all over your state with no problem. Power tour at the Allient energy center included for the kick off of the Power Tour.
@@alexandercase7423 I use to have a 73 Camaro Z28. Built 350 just fit under hood so I cut a hole in it for a 6 x 14 air cleaner. It exceeded the 3 inch above hood line but never a problem. Also had super wide track 50 Hoosiers slicks. Slicks illegal on street and they exceeded 1 1/2 inch beyond body line. Air shocks keep tires from rubbing. Still no problem but no one else got away with slicks. Exhaust was headers and glass packs. That was a problem. Eventually cops backed off as long as I behaved and didn't have it out after 10 pm. Got alot of tickets for too loud and tire squealing. Crazy young adult I was.
He never been late to work..
Shes got balls ! Had to feather the shit out of her.....cool dude cool ass car
This guy and the guy with the big block VW bus ought to get together with a coffee and talk shop.
Always ready for that.
Invite me and l will
Thus guy is motivating. Dont want to turn into a soft bitch when i get old. Dudes about it!
Could you imagine. just going to get some groceries. I bet she is kinda thirsty also. !!
Don’t forget the hardware store and Sunday church service also, yes for real. Thanks
Floorboards probably melt you shoe
0:38 What's wrong in this pic that will make this car a pig to drive?
🤔
He's like me and likes his girls skinny. And I cant hook either.
10/4
nice but get some tires
He will tell you he's not interested in how quick it will run as he's out just for fun and mainly show off 😉
@@victoryredcolorado really want one in black with big block; btw always great videos
@@dougvaldivia3395 Thanks!👊
Exhibition Only, street driver, street tires. Read my other comments.
Looked pretty slow
Sounds weak! 3.50 rear end with OverDrive, so 4200 rpm thru the lights?A blown Hemi, really..15.91? Lmao
