ya. Her shield is more like a tool to apply more Pyro or do extra damage than being a shield. I find myself trying more to avoid attacks because I don't want the shield to take damage and disappear lol

People are so focused on his mono pyro team as a negative but he is so strong. i can understand if they don’t like it because it takes the 3 best supports but that is not an excuse to call him bad. Nilou wants only hydro and dendro but her teams deal so much damage. People were saying Alhaitham was going to be mid too upon his release simply because he was not Nahida but he is an incredibly strong character character.

I love Lyney's personality so much. His design and jp voice are beautiful, and his kit looks pretty too. I also love sucrose and want to use her more. Definitely I will save for him one day once i get Sigewinne and Navia :)

as someone who has mained ganyu since her release im glad to see theres another charge atk bow in the game, will take him probably another few years to be as good as my ganyu now but looking forward to the grind
his passive is really carrying him because +100% bonus dmg is basically the 2x multiplier of vaporize (althought cannot benefit from EM) but even if you play him in other teams he wont fully shut down his other utility and apparently his ascension stat + new set gives him so much crit rate, you need only worry about crit dmg and er (atk can come from benny. in fact i think benny is given for free here as he will be a staple in lyney teams)
Since he will be played with a lot of Pyro chara, you basically can slot in favonious Benny and kazuha, and even a yanfei will get a burst charge in 1 rotation. Heck he even gain 3 energy himself for every cat hat that when explode hit enemy 😂

I love Bow users to death, instantly pulled. He’s been super nice so far, and his passive of finding materials around Fontaine has been super useful. Not the biggest fan of the monopyro, so currently just running a Lyney, Yelan, Bennett, Kazuha. It’s impressive how high the damage he can deal.

omg Lyney is sooooo good even though I haven't completed building him yet. I took him into spiral abyss just to test out with some slapped on artifacts and he was already doing impressive numbers. I cannot imagine how much of a beast he will be when I'm through building him. As a Ganyu main, I'm really enjoying his gameplay so far.
ZL stock just increased. Like you said, he can carry the Petra set for 35% pyro damage and 20% res down which basically makes him very close to Sucrose performance. However he provide a perfect defense for Lyney to shoot without fearing of interruption. Feel good man.
Confused ahh human. I've run this before and it's hard and tedious to always get those crystals. Besides the domain for the artifact set is not good for most characters. And lastly, his res shred at best, is like a 5% dmg increase (calcs).
@@putent9623 it is not that far from sucrose. 40% res downmakes generic enemies -15%, 20% res down makes them -5%. So the difference is 115% of VV vs 105% of zl shield which is under 10% different. And also, 20% shred alone is a different from 90% damage to 105% damage which is more than 5% increase. About petra, the set is very decent in mono team because you have so many way and easy to get the crytstal and you cannot pick up the wrong one. Even xiangling snapshot so you can just Lyney > Zhongli > Bennett (can swap between Bennett and ZL if you build him damage) > Xiangling > Lyney. The petra buff and bennett buff will last around 7 to 8 seconds on lyney result in around 12s of soft rotation and around 22s to 24 hard rotation with xiangling ultimate and Lyney skill CD. Bennett ultimate and xiangling descyn with Lyney would be a bigger problem to be honest. I have been running Ayato carry with ZL bennett and YJ for over 1 years with ZL using Petra clearing everything in 2-3 Ayato E with full buff of Petra, Bennet, YJ. It is not a problem at all as you only spend like half a second to get the crystal
@@putent96231. It's a mono pyro comp so it's at least easier to get pyro crystallized shards than reaction focused comps. 2. Strongbox is a thing 3. Petra set's 35% pyro dmg bonus is almost equivalent to a Kazuha buff (40% at 1k EM), his 20% res shred is half of viridescent set effect. Zhongli is like a semi Kazuha to Lyney, no other shielder can give as much buffs like him specifically for crystallize-able mono comps.
THey better release a new Amber form after this, this is the first time they actually invalidated her kit by giving a character that does both things she is known for in one move
Wriothesley is cryo heizou, main dps catalyst and uses punches. I really wanted him but I don’t like main dps’s who soak up time. I need more Quick-switch characters

I've been playing mono cryo with Ayaka for a long time now, so I think Lyney's kit suits me perfectly! I didn't used any reaction before I got nahida anyway 😅
Lyney's kit may *encourage* mono pyro, but it is 100% not mandatory. The total buff you get out of his passive for going mono pyro is ~50%, which is the same as you would get from hitting vape/melt, so he is a lot more flexible than you'd think.
@@NasiKandaria as is shown in the video yeah it just depends what your 2nd pyro is/rest of your team. also depends what your goals are for the team, as abyss has only gotten harder and harder and lyney is the squishiest unit in the game and basically NEEDS something like a zhongli shield or other form of damage mitigation, especially because he has his own life drain effect
@@tubisi it’s almost like you didn’t actually read what I said. The passive buff at full strength leads to the same amount of increase in damage as hitting a vape/melt. Aka you have flexibility with him that lets you do vape/melt OR mono pyro without losing out on damage. The passive is what lets him do good damage on mono pyro. If you’re not on mono pyro, yeah the passive isn’t doing as much, but you’re also actually hitting multiplicative reactions

Would you ever be able to do a Normal Attack damage showcase or tests for Lyney at all? If his NA are doing around 5k with just his passive and without the full hayayumi buff, imagine what he would be doing with Rust, an NA oriented artifact set, and a mono pyro Yunjin team with Bennet and Xinyan. He would be doing MUCH more. Perhaps his damage multiplier would also multiply the Yunjin buff?
I’m used to working with low tiers as mains (I’ll be a Chongyun main til the day I die) but I’m glad Lyney is actually a really good unit! Excited to build him!!

Tempting character to pull tbh, I really like when a character is independent without the need to be support by specific characters. But my will can't be shaken, Dehya visit me two previous banner ago. So the brat hydro archon will 100% come home to me.

@evanwang6384 I don't watch allot of reviews. I didn't even watch any of kirara pre or post release videos. But after building her she was a solid character. So it's not even the hype. It's just that she is more than usable.
I'm so happy after saving for so long, I got him and his weapon early. Unfortunately I have to wait until tomorrow to get all his talent and weapon level up mats, but I'm not complaining 😅
The thing about ganyu is that she was made during the "how the fuck do I balance these characters" era of genshin, where we got some of the most busted, as well as some of the most underwhelming characters in the game in terms of performance. Raw ganyu damage blasts lyney out of the water when played optimally, though this is balanced out by the fact that ganyu is so fucking atrocious to play that she inflicts a considerable amount of mental damage to the player for even considering the thought of using her
I’d like to know how the new craftable Fontaine bow and the Prototype Crescent would work on Lyney, compared to Hamayumi. Putting Stingless in might be interesting too!

I got Lyney just rn, with 0 pity and 50/50, i returned to genshin after half year and got some fates from some missions, so i pulled a 10x and i see its golden i was like "oh!, its alright if i lose the 50/50, i want mona or qiqi", and i see Lyney. I was like 💀
As someone who usually loses her 50/50s, I'm really happy with the Yelan I won and the tighnari I got on Lyney's banner 11 pulls later, but since Zhongli is coming, can't go further. Still, may Lyney wanters be Lyney havers. I'll join you on his rerun:D
All elemental characters have their own weakness against enemies of their same element, except physical. That's why all enemies has some degree of physical resistance because physical works on all elements.
When her HP is less than 40%, Dehya will recover 20% of her Max HP and will restore 6% of her Max HP every 2s for the next 10s. This effect can be triggered once every 20s. @@leovu8500 this does sound like dehya would still be good for fontaine since it doesnt state that you have to be attacked under 40% to start the passive
So much damage with so much sacrifices. Inflexible and basically stuck with mono pyro most of the time (especially with his BiS), obviously useless against pyro enemies (Natlan waving from the distance), quite long cooldowns (ain't gonna hit as much beyond first rotation) and gameplay that gets incredibly stale real quick. I think I've heard of this. Oh wait, it's Ganyu all over again.

That showcase was half of it Lyney getting staggered and the other half of it was wasting most of time setting up just to prematurely switch out. Interruption Resistance is more valuable than Xiangling with him and that showcase proves it. Glad to see a team where Dehya has a legitimate role. She’s the perfect role consolidator and battery for Lyney.
i wasn't planning on pulling (except for freminet) cuz i told myself i wouldn't pull until xiao's rerun then when i tried him, i had so much fun so i pulled LMFAO was at 45 pity 50/50 23 pulls later, he came home and i RARELY win my 50/50s. now i have a pyro dps cuz the only dps' i have is heizou c7 and albedo c1. now all i need is freminet and i won't be pulling until 4.4
I think the hydro archon is gonna make this team way too strong. 3 pyro characters with a big damage buffer likely in the hydro archon with the element that will allow this mono pyro team into a vaping team of destruction.

@bonkbonk98 Hu Tao I feel will get a massive power boost by the archon. If she gives an archon level boost in power plus if she has really good offfield hydro application and her kit works like people are saying Hu Tao might just get the largest buff from the archon. We will see.

I didn't expect lenye to be that good which was a good thing for me since I'm farming for the Archon, but damn he is insane, they really will make me pull for him
Mobile player here: I usually am not a fan of bow characters due to the aiming mechanisms on mobile being a bit clunky.. However I’m really debating on getting Lyney due to how strong his charged attack is without other teammates buffing them. Also I like that the after shot leaves a cat that can taunt enemies better than Amber’s skill so it gives me time to charge my arrows. It seems the arrow can explode wherever it lands and causes AOE dmg, it can probably help with those challenges where you have to shoot the barriers quickly cause even if you miss the barrier by an inch, the arrow near it should blow it up & make it easier. I’m actually impressed by his kit but not sure if I should skip & prioritize Zhongli instead 🤔
just my random 2 cents, but if ur on mobile and are looking at it from a gameplay perspective mostly, maybe zhongli would be better since he would be easier to use on mobile? it's up to you to think anyway, just though i'd say what i was thinking
same. not really fond of bow chars on mobile phone. i did his trial, pulled because I need another dps specifically pyro, then came to actually love his playstyle and dmg he deals solo. now I'm trying to get used to playing bow as he is now my main. maybe you try him first then decide after based on how comfortable it is to play him and the dedication to get used to the bow.
The Raiden Shogun also premiered into an anti-optimal Abyss. It was “high tide, low tide.” You could only build your Energy on one tide, and Burst during the other. Raiden recharges the teammates’ Burst during her own Burst, so she is always off-cycle.
I dont *think* he mentioned it in the video, but Lyney's hat stacks are best stacked up to 5 to achieve the best damage potential from his skill, and he can only gain stacks at the end of his ultimate (he gets 1), and for each charge attack cat summoned while losing HP doing so. And to gain stacks with the charge attack, he HAS to be above 60% health or it doesn't trigger. Optimally, at least, he'd need 4 charge attacks gotten in before his ult, which means he does need a healer to maintain enough health to shoot off 4 health-draining charge attacks sequentially. After that, you go into the ult cancel as shown, giving him the 5th and spawning a cat, then detonate the ult's cat at 5 stacks for big magic boom-boom. Whether or not this is worth it is up to you however, as it can be a chore attempting to get off 4 meh speed charge attacks while making sure he is above 60% health the whole time before proceeding into the ult -> skill combo. Hope I explained this right.

omg Lyney is sooooo good even though I haven't completed building him yet. I took him into spiral abyss just to test out with some slapped on artifacts and he was already doing impressive numbers. I cannot imagine how much of a beast he will be when I'm through building him. As a Ganyu main, I'm really enjoying his gameplay so far.
ZL stock just increased. Like you said, he can carry the Petra set for 35% pyro damage and 20% res down which basically makes him very close to Sucrose performance. However he provide a perfect defense for Lyney to shoot without fearing of interruption. Feel good man.
Confused ahh human. I've run this before and it's hard and tedious to always get those crystals. Besides the domain for the artifact set is not good for most characters. And lastly, his res shred at best, is like a 5% dmg increase (calcs).

@@putent9623 it is not that far from sucrose. 40% res downmakes generic enemies -15%, 20% res down makes them -5%. So the difference is 115% of VV vs 105% of zl shield which is under 10% different. And also, 20% shred alone is a different from 90% damage to 105% damage which is more than 5% increase.
About petra, the set is very decent in mono team because you have so many way and easy to get the crytstal and you cannot pick up the wrong one. Even xiangling snapshot so you can just Lyney > Zhongli > Bennett (can swap between Bennett and ZL if you build him damage) > Xiangling > Lyney. The petra buff and bennett buff will last around 7 to 8 seconds on lyney result in around 12s of soft rotation and around 22s to 24 hard rotation with xiangling ultimate and Lyney skill CD. Bennett ultimate and xiangling descyn with Lyney would be a bigger problem to be honest.
I have been running Ayato carry with ZL bennett and YJ for over 1 years with ZL using Petra clearing everything in 2-3 Ayato E with full buff of Petra, Bennet, YJ. It is not a problem at all as you only spend like half a second to get the crystal
@@putent96231. It's a mono pyro comp so it's at least easier to get pyro crystallized shards than reaction focused comps.

3. Petra set's 35% pyro dmg bonus is almost equivalent to a Kazuha buff (40% at 1k EM), his 20% res shred is half of viridescent set effect.
Zhongli is like a semi Kazuha to Lyney, no other shielder can give as much buffs like him specifically for crystallize-able mono comps.

Lyney's kit may *encourage* mono pyro, but it is 100% not mandatory. The total buff you get out of his passive for going mono pyro is ~50%, which is the same as you would get from hitting vape/melt, so he is a lot more flexible than you'd think.
Would have only 2 pyro including lyney work? I really want to use lynette and i dont really have any other pyro characters

@@NasiKandaria as is shown in the video yeah it just depends what your 2nd pyro is/rest of your team. also depends what your goals are for the team, as abyss has only gotten harder and harder and lyney is the squishiest unit in the game and basically NEEDS something like a zhongli shield or other form of damage mitigation, especially because he has his own life drain effect
I haven't got him fully ascended yet, so I'm currently running him in a vape comp. He hit 22k (granted with artifacts) at level 50 so 👀
@@tubisi it’s almost like you didn’t actually read what I said. The passive buff at full strength leads to the same amount of increase in damage as hitting a vape/melt. Aka you have flexibility with him that lets you do vape/melt OR mono pyro without losing out on damage. The passive is what lets him do good damage on mono pyro. If you’re not on mono pyro, yeah the passive isn’t doing as much, but you’re also actually hitting multiplicative reactions

If his NA are doing around 5k with just his passive and without the full hayayumi buff, imagine what he would be doing with Rust, an NA oriented artifact set, and a mono pyro Yunjin team with Bennet and Xinyan.
He would be doing MUCH more. Perhaps his damage multiplier would also multiply the Yunjin buff?

The thing about ganyu is that she was made during the "how the fuck do I balance these characters" era of genshin, where we got some of the most busted, as well as some of the most underwhelming characters in the game in terms of performance.
Raw ganyu damage blasts lyney out of the water when played optimally, though this is balanced out by the fact that ganyu is so fucking atrocious to play that she inflicts a considerable amount of mental damage to the player for even considering the thought of using her

I got Lyney just rn, with 0 pity and 50/50, i returned to genshin after half year and got some fates from some missions, so i pulled a 10x and i see its golden i was like "oh!, its alright if i lose the 50/50, i want mona or qiqi", and i see Lyney. I was like 💀

As someone who usually loses her 50/50s, I'm really happy with the Yelan I won and the tighnari I got on Lyney's banner 11 pulls later, but since Zhongli is coming, can't go further.

All elemental characters have their own weakness against enemies of their same element, except physical. That's why all enemies has some degree of physical resistance because physical works on all elements.
Finally an effective use for Dehya
Fontaine is pure hp meta i think dehya is gonna be buffed like kuki got in 3.0

many fontaine can regenerate their own hp..so she’s end up not getting any major buff. Pkus, U need to delete zhongli
When her HP is less than 40%, Dehya will recover 20% of her Max HP and will restore 6% of her Max HP every 2s for the next 10s. This effect can be triggered once every 20s. @@leovu8500 this does sound like dehya would still be good for fontaine since it doesnt state that you have to be attacked under 40% to start the passive

Inflexible and basically stuck with mono pyro most of the time (especially with his BiS), obviously useless against pyro enemies (Natlan waving from the distance), quite long cooldowns (ain't gonna hit as much beyond first rotation) and gameplay that gets incredibly stale real quick.

That showcase was half of it Lyney getting staggered and the other half of it was wasting most of time setting up just to prematurely switch out. Interruption Resistance is more valuable than Xiangling with him and that showcase proves it. Glad to see a team where Dehya has a legitimate role. She’s the perfect role consolidator and battery for Lyney.
Hoyoverse doesn’t release useless characters, they always plan ahead. Dehya is going to become more important if the leaks are truee

I think the hydro archon is gonna make this team way too strong. 3 pyro characters with a big damage buffer likely in the hydro archon with the element that will allow this mono pyro team into a vaping team of destruction.

@bonkbonk98 Hu Tao I feel will get a massive power boost by the archon. If she gives an archon level boost in power plus if she has really good offfield hydro application and her kit works like people are saying Hu Tao might just get the largest buff from the archon. We will see.

Mobile player here: I usually am not a fan of bow characters due to the aiming mechanisms on mobile being a bit clunky.. However I’m really debating on getting Lyney due to how strong his charged attack is without other teammates buffing them. Also I like that the after shot leaves a cat that can taunt enemies better than Amber’s skill so it gives me time to charge my arrows. It seems the arrow can explode wherever it lands and causes AOE dmg, it can probably help with those challenges where you have to shoot the barriers quickly cause even if you miss the barrier by an inch, the arrow near it should blow it up & make it easier. I’m actually impressed by his kit but not sure if I should skip & prioritize Zhongli instead 🤔
just my random 2 cents, but if ur on mobile and are looking at it from a gameplay perspective mostly, maybe zhongli would be better since he would be easier to use on mobile? it's up to you to think anyway, just though i'd say what i was thinking

same. not really fond of bow chars on mobile phone. i did his trial, pulled because I need another dps specifically pyro, then came to actually love his playstyle and dmg he deals solo. now I'm trying to get used to playing bow as he is now my main. maybe you try him first then decide after based on how comfortable it is to play him and the dedication to get used to the bow.

The Raiden Shogun also premiered into an anti-optimal Abyss. It was “high tide, low tide.” You could only build your Energy on one tide, and Burst during the other. Raiden recharges the teammates’ Burst during her own Burst, so she is always off-cycle.
I dont *think* he mentioned it in the video, but Lyney's hat stacks are best stacked up to 5 to achieve the best damage potential from his skill, and he can only gain stacks at the end of his ultimate (he gets 1), and for each charge attack cat summoned while losing HP doing so. And to gain stacks with the charge attack, he HAS to be above 60% health or it doesn't trigger. Optimally, at least, he'd need 4 charge attacks gotten in before his ult, which means he does need a healer to maintain enough health to shoot off 4 health-draining charge attacks sequentially. After that, you go into the ult cancel as shown, giving him the 5th and spawning a cat, then detonate the ult's cat at 5 stacks for big magic boom-boom. Whether or not this is worth it is up to you however, as it can be a chore attempting to get off 4 meh speed charge attacks while making sure he is above 60% health the whole time before proceeding into the ult -> skill combo. Hope I explained this right.
