The only thing she is good for is to solve puzzles, so you don't have to find the pneuma particles. I take the traveler and LV.40 Linette for that reason only.
The only team that Hydro MC is viable in is Nilou Nahida team with high EM. Litterally Nilou bloom with Nahida is the only combo of teammates were this traveler isn't completely useless. You can use their hold skill with almost 100% uptime creating bloom city from a far. But that's really all you can do with this traveler.

Hydro mc would be infinitely better if the burst didn’t just move straight. Keeping still, moving around the character or just changing direction towards enemies would make it so much better
Or if it worked like a whirlpool and pulled in all enemies to the center (kinda like venti's burst I guess)...granted making it a large AOE stationary whirlpool at MC's location/right in from of MC may have been better too.
I don'g get why Hyv removed the travelers' passive where their last NA slash does elemental dmg relative to the one they're currently resonating with. It at least gave them another bit of elemental application and dmg while waiting for their cooldowns

@@Rootspring. March's Shield is Single Target and Gepard's tied to an Ultimate. MC has Fire Break which iirc has the best Break Damage of all the Elements, their Taint gives Damage Cut reducing more incoming damage and they give Shield regardless what you did

I’ve done hours of testing to find out what is the most viable role for the hydro mc. And after hours of tests, I’ve concluded that the best way to use the hydro mc is to use his/her ability to help Varden and Gurgen to water their sumeru roses.
You probably didn't play HMC all that much, huh? I'm running my story team for story which is curently HMC, Lynette, Dehya and Childe and i can garantee you, that watergun qlmost never has enough range for anything. I try it every time but like 90% of the time i have to switch to Tartaglia anyways.

My point was that hydro traveler has fck all range so the amount of puzzles that can be solved with bubnlegun but not with other sword characters is extremly limited. Characters like Keqing, Albedo, Kazuha, geo MC and Alhaitham can probably cover as much range as bubble gun does.
I'm in mix of amusement and disappointment, hydro mc can do anything with water like "water can take on any shape", but they just chose go pew pew like wow.
@@colheitasombria7612the multipliers kinda suck, at least the number hits and accumulate dmg does something, but it takes long just standing in the middle battle, i was hoping they could make like Wanderer where you can moves while attack. The only thing bother me, the burst just pass through unlike Ayaka even tho the enemies still frozen, it still stays right there.
I think my biggest copium in this game is hoping that if we can get travelers gold sword from the intro cutscene, equipping it buffs all traveler numbers
Didn't think there'd be a worse traveler than electro but they might have just outdone themselves with this one. If the traveler didn't require so much field time with their skill or the burst stops at the first enemy hit they could be decent, but it looks like they tried to hard at making them another useless character 💀
@@BlackPointt Dendro is better - because of dendro, yup. Besides of that, strongest is geo - in DPS -> theoretically higher than Albedo if boulders used ideally, plus other value: crit rate buff and great battery.
@@tubisigeo traveller has the highest damage potential of all traveller type, not to mention the crit buff is pretty decent. Worst to best Hydro-> Electro->Anemo->Geo->Dendro And the only reason Dendro traveller is better than Geo is because Dendro is an OP element.

Not a sub dps (has to be on field), not a main dps (bad multipliers), not a support (kit focuses only on damage), not a hydro applier (low hydro application), what is their purpose? The only thing I can think of is exploration, since the region has these water container thingies that need a ton of hydro to fill up, but even that can be done by Barbara. I haven't seen their constellations though
The multipliers aren’t that low and she actually applies Hydro very fast. The issue here is the Burst. I don’t know how the devs could see the futility of a burst that just phases through enemies and say “yep, it’s perfect”. I think this is Karma for the leaks that showed her Burst being stationary and people complained about it.
@samxii6422 I'm gonna need to test it later then. I've already got the traveler to C2 level 90, but I haven't switched her artifacts since sumeru, so I need to grind some more. That being said, I've already got the fountain to level 10 and over 50% of the underwater sections done so far, plus I already got the 2 new characters to level 60 so I'm currently farming for their artifacts but hopefully I'll have time soonish.
@@keshang_laow8325 well i don't know if is worth to grind the best artifact and talents for the Hydro Traveler, the only thing that is worth on HMC is the pneuma application to stun some enemys, but since you have Liney there's no reason to grind for the hydro Traveler in my opinion, just use the dendro traveler. Hoyo really do not want to see players using THE FRIKKIN MAIN CHARACTER, huh? After Dendro Traveler's strong performance, they'd like "We're not letting that happen again". Why? I don't understand it at all.
I got C2 on it and I will say that the bubble slowed down a lot and deals more damage, this plays a significant and important role for the hydro traveler.
I’m no meta enthusiast but I use hydro traveller with Lynette and raiden for overworld exploration. With raiden’s skill it can do a good amount of damage to regular enemies. Lynette is there for ousia, which makes fighting meka and doing puzzles easier.
Fun fact: With Hydro Traveler's introduction, Vourukasha's Glow is now the best Artifact set for both of the worst two characters in the game. Edit: Actually nvm, turns out Vourukasha's Glow doesn't proc form Hydro MCs suffusion damage.

I have her and Lynette in my overworld team for Fontaine because I'm not going for Lyney, but as soon as I get Neuvillette or Furina she's going in the bin.
Dehya's artifact set would be a lot better on HMC because it takes advantage of the hp drain and buffs skill and burst dmg. (Update HMC's skill doesn't proc the set's effect, so it's actually not very good sadly.)
I tried it out. It'd work if you have Sac sword, as the skill damage doesn't go up while you're channeling it. But if you open with the skill for the buff you can increase your burst damage. Considering how energy hunger HMC is, sac sword might be the play.
With this kit of hydro MC and Fontaine giving more attention to normal attack, there is a high chance that Furina will be an on-field dps character instead of a support one like the previous archons.
I won't elaborate much for those who don't want to know yet, but her leaked kit does seem to support what you're saying, with an emphasis on DPS and some support capabilities. Her weapon will also supposedly add crit rate.
@@yasu_red Tbh I think we don't know nothing yet, kits before beta were never accurate for Genshin as far I know, even the leaked weapon wasn't confirmed to be hers yet (Mistsplitter being Raiden weapon flashbacks )

So far the only use for her has been with 4p emblem, but it'd be nice if her ult at least carried enemies with it, even if only for an extra hit or two

Btw it is pnèvma ( e as in pet ) and ousìa ( ou as in cow goes moo) and i as in kiss The devs directly wrote it from Greek to English and that is why it is pneuma and not pnevma and ousia . When there is an "u" after "e" = "eu ευ " it is pronounced as ev or ef . Same with au ,αυ . And the oo sound in Greek ( moo) is written with ou , ου .

When you see that one of her constellation reduces the speed of her burst, you come to understand that hoyoverse knows her burst is shit and has to have a constellation to try and fix it. Constellation should be bonuses not fixes. But they always are fixes for 4 stars
I’ve actually been really enjoying the hydro traveler. Been using her with Nahida and Raider. With Hat guy just for exploration. Tbf I have been using the Mistsplitter reforged though. With vourukasha 4-piece
I used Hydro MC on Team 2 Spiral Abyss 12 with the ever so reliable Hyperbloom team and it is really funny when he’s aggresively pointing at the downed ASIMON 😂
@@XochiMictlan69 Nahida E triggers on every reaction. Electro charge is a reaction. Therefore Nahida can function off field. yea any hydro character will do, but traveller actually let you aim. May not be as functional as say Kokomi, but it’s fun

I think Hydro MC is lacking in battle but great for exploring and doing story quests with solo MC for the immersion of the story, because Hydro MC have a complete kit in one character imo They can attack long range (sort of, using their skill), have puzzle solving ability (pneuma), & have shield and party heal (when full constellations) Its nice to have a character that can do it all so i dont need to bother changing characters every now and then
That's basically how I feel about Dehya as well (for me personally, not justifying her or anything). It's nice to have a character you just permanently have in your team to do it all. The other 2 characters who are my "do-it-alls" are Kazuha and Zhongli. Zhongli provides both defense and shred, and Kazuha has exploration, grouping, and elemental sustain. They may not be the best character with the biggest number. But I can clear just about everything but 3* Floor 12 with them.
its clear that the MC was desinged for that one new artefact set, not just for a simple f2p 2pc glad and 2 pc hydro dmg combo, but the one that constantly buffs you whenever you lose health or gain health as you constantly lose health when you use your E and you gain health when you collect your created blue orbs from the E, plus with the constellations moves the Q slower, enabling it to hit more oftenly crowded targes, which is when you want to use it, when targets are crowded together, to hit them all as often as possible with a slower moving Q, especially with having placed up also support dps like Albedos Q for further mass aoe dmag Play HMC, Kazuha, Yelan, Jean, should make for a good combo, with them you have 3 characters in party with crowd control abilities, by pulling them together, gap closing and launching targets, so that you can unlpeash the HMC Q when they are all close together, while kazuha provides additional good aoe damage, yelan additilnal good single target damage and energy support for MC and with jean you a good healer with team support

Personally, I think Hoyo has nailed something very important with Hydro Traveler's kit: it's a blast to use. When I first resonated with Hydro and hit e, I wasn't going "huh..." I was instead saying something along the lines of "HOLY-", it almost made me want to actually build the Traveler, but unfortunately I have like 2 hydro goblets on my whole account and they're both enough to cry about...
For sure. I love using traveler during story quests, region exploration etc. and the water saber skill is just cool; it's like Yusuke's spirit gun (I especially love aiming it then shooting quickly, without really waiting for the little dewdrops to come out). I know that Sumeru traveler was its most effective iteration, but I was disappointed by the Inazuma and Sumeru traveler concepts because they just didn't feel as cool and as fun as Mondstadt or Liyue traveler.
Usually traveller's playstyle is similar to archon of respect element. This time however, it seems the hydro traveler is more similar to Neuvillette playestyle than Furina.
Hey there, If Any of you has C6 faruzan and does really like Hyro MC I Recommend him to be played in a Thunderstorm team with Hydro MC, faruzan C6, any electro off-field unit, and a Flex shielder is really dope. I tried Hydro MC with Fischl C6, altho MC skill doesn't count as consecutive attacks it still can work. The stagger from the skill of Hydro MC and the continuously grouping and swirl and CC without having to switch continuously is fun. I do recommend Layla for shield to make enemies stay in place by being freeze, swirls cc and electro charge.
HMC is really bad, but they're really fun! They're like Oz but Hydro, i personally run them with Nahida, EM Raiden, and Lynette. Sometimes i swap Lynette with Zhongli when i fight bosses.
I'm a Traveler, main and, well, i won't deny up until now, Dendro MC and Geo MC are still the best options to go for. But as i said until now, who knows what 4.1 and 4.2 etc has in store for us. The damage is not good but isn't totally bad either is just very average. To me the 2 main things that kinda makes Hydro MC a bit unconfortable to use is, the 6 sec Hold of his Eskill his Constallation 6 (we don't have acces to it yet but will have in 4.1 most likely). As for why i see these things only as a problem is, because channeling his Eskill for 6 sec is too long for a just average damage, and C6 could had been a good and usefull Constallation to go for if it was able to heal the WHOLE party instead of 1 character, i mean the healing from it isn't crazy either Hydro traveler won't replace a true healer if he were to heal the full scale party, i can't understand what was Hoyoverse idea behind it... Solutions i could see (which will never happen probably) would be if Hoyoverse doubled the damage multiplier of the Dewdrops and reduced the 6 sec duration for a short 3 sec while of course adjusting the pneuse procs on it accordingly to fit these 3 secs everytime. The damage in numbers would remain the same, however, faster actions means in combat situations also a gain in dps thus then making is i guess good to use. As for C6, honestly Hoyoverse just need probably the press of 1 little button a keyboard to make it heal a full scale party with it, every source water heals for 6% HP of the party members it's healing sor it would be a nice 24% healing for everyone, it's not much but this would fit perfectly inside a Dehya party, or become usefull on Shielded teams against corrosion easely.
If this kit is a spoiler of how the archon kit will look like I would like her E to be, in pokemon therms, the good old 120 hydro pump compared with a water gun lol
I was getting bored of my main team so I decided to switch it up while exploring Fontaine. My team is Hydro Lumine / Nahida / Barbara / Kazuha right now. I didn’t fully build traveler do Nahida does all the damage but traveler does suprise me sometimes. I love her play style it’s so fun
Was really hoping that hydro Traveler might be as good as Dendro. It has a nice idea with the manual shooting dewdrops, but I feel it really could be better and it just isn't. Regardless, I'm still going to try and build her as the best dps I can because Traveler doesn't get nearly enough usage as I feel they should. Trying Freeze, Nilou Bloom, Vaporize, and Annihilation teams (for Fontaine), and going to try my hand at a mono hydro team as well. ♡
lets not forget the Traveler's kit is a vague representation of the respective Arcon's so maybe some hints to pic apart. Maybe this is pure dps archon like how anemo traveler had that control tornado and electro had the ER ninja stars.
For traveler, I like to use the last nation's element against the new nation elements. Like start with anemo against geo area, geo against electro, electro against Sumeru area, denji against Fontaine, hydro against Natain and pyro in the last region.
I agree with your ending statements, that HMC probably serves as an experiment for abilities that require channeling to be used. More over, HMC's Constellations are clearly designed to help the player use the entire duration of HMC'S E. But it doesn't excuse the fact that they gave them such a horrid burst with an equally insulting energy requirement of 80.
Should've just made the burst free with a 8 second cooldown. Since it's basically what Dendro/Electro/Geo MC calls their elemental skill. Then again, it seems like they set out to design HMC with the idea that they should be an even shittier version of AMC, and it appears they've succeed spectacularly.
Hidro traveler wasn't designet for combat, it was designed to solve exploration hidro puzzles with is aiming skills. for combat we will continue use is dendro variant.
my current team for hydro MC is mc/nahida/raiden/layla as a sort of fridge/hyperbloom setup with MC as the point character, with sacrificial sword for the GREATLY increased uptime on skill (for more hydro applications via hold skill) all 4 basically attack for free either as a rider on the MC's skill hits (nahida/raiden) or over time (layla), making for a rather comfy (if not super optimal) playstyle of turning genshin into a third-person shooter. rotation goes nahida skill-ult>raiden skill>layla skill-ult>MC ult-skill (hold), and just keep spamming the hold skill until you need to reapply buffs or ults. raiden is built for EM (inazuma spear/4pc gilded) since she's intended to proc the superconducts, i'm considering having nahida use the prototype catalyst for some additional healing, since it's nonexistent on the team, and layla (favonius sword, 4pc milileth) cant exactly cover all the damage herself though her shield IS pretty beefy with HP investment.
Finally some evolution in genshin. Fo do long we only had 4 and 5 star characters. And now we have a one star character, fitting, given how in cannon they use a dull blade, a 1 star weapon.
The one thing I had in mind for HMC is "She might be a decent reaction driver on a team with a short rotation." And the example given with a Nilou Bloom team basically confirms this. HMC can deliver accurate hydro application downrange faster than any other character. Constellations gives her a built-in shield and she's an HP scaler, so she can take quite a few hits. This character is not utterly useless, you just need to get a bit creative. Personally I just laugh every time I see that pea shooter of an elemental skill. It's probably the least satisfying skill to use in the entire game, in stark contrast with the Anemo MC elemental skill, which to this day is still one of the most satisfying skill to use in the entire game, even if it's not that effective.
While I see this vid, the first thing that came to my mind that’d appreciate HMC is… (alert leak) … Neuvillette. Needs the droplets to improve CA uptime (his main DMG source), high ER requirements. If we’re dumping ER stats + Emblems on HMC, then at least they’ll be a decent support
I think its a troll. I half expect the Pyro traveller to have a "self destruct" ultimate that KILLS the traveller as an ultimate. But the damage is still less then Dilucs Phoenix. Sucks too as I keep the traveller in my party for the entirety of my playing. She's the MC. I mean really, imagine if the elemental skill allowed you to move while channeling, and the burst was a homing attack that followed enemies around? Might be A or B tier quality. But that wasn't what they were going for.
They could have made the burst a bit better, here are my ideas tho: a.burst follows the enemies b.burst explodes after the duration dealing aoe hydro dmg c.the bubble becomes a hydro shield and the 3 hydro thingies circling around it will act like xianglings butst
Hoyoverse is so scared of people having fun with Traveler that they bend reality to make them bad. All that is left is to make pyro MC a healer who can only heal the enemy
You could MAYBE get a bit more damage running support Raiden, using her skill, and then Nahida’s skill with hydro MC. Then you’d be creating hyperbloom reactions potentially at a decent range. But…yeah that’s basically all the ideas I’ve got on boosting dmg.
Hydro MC is pretty horrible but I like using MC for world exploration for funsies. It feels more immersive when doing story quests too and I let all the other party members carry.
I have in fact thought of a utility, though it requires a final character to complete the build. And it's about an off field Pyro DPS that doesn't focus in melee combat. If we get such a character in the future, Hydro traveller would actually be one of the best drivers for that character on a Fireworks team. Because then we could finally have a team that can in fact make use of Overload's knockback as a positive thing. Since overload would potentially allow Hydro Traveller's burst to hit more than 3-8 times. All we would need is Yae Miko/Fischl, H.Traveller, that new pyro character, and any kind of support. Honestly we really need a new off-field Pyro character, one that doesn't work only at melee range

For some reason without triggering the new Fontaine reaction mechanic, I can't seem to trigger the passive of Fav weapons.

The best thing about this Hydro MC is that you would easily go back to Sumeru & switch to DMC instead.

I'm running my story team for story which is curently HMC, Lynette, Dehya and Childe and i can garantee you, that watergun qlmost never has enough range for anything. I try it every time but like 90% of the time i have to switch to Tartaglia anyways.

My point was that hydro traveler has fck all range so the amount of puzzles that can be solved with bubnlegun but not with other sword characters is extremly limited. Characters like Keqing, Albedo, Kazuha, geo MC and Alhaitham can probably cover as much range as bubble gun does.

Didn't think there'd be a worse traveler than electro but they might have just outdone themselves with this one. If the traveler didn't require so much field time with their skill or the burst stops at the first enemy hit they could be decent, but it looks like they tried to hard at making them another useless character 💀

The hydro traveler hurts me, i got my hopes up with this one because the dendro one was so good.
Not a sub dps (has to be on field), not a main dps (bad multipliers), not a support (kit focuses only on damage), not a hydro applier (low hydro application), what is their purpose? The only thing I can think of is exploration, since the region has these water container thingies that need a ton of hydro to fill up, but even that can be done by Barbara. I haven't seen their constellations though
The multipliers aren’t that low and she actually applies Hydro very fast.
The issue here is the Burst. I don’t know how the devs could see the futility of a burst that just phases through enemies and say “yep, it’s perfect”.
I think this is Karma for the leaks that showed her Burst being stationary and people complained about it.

@samxii6422 I'm gonna need to test it later then. I've already got the traveler to C2 level 90, but I haven't switched her artifacts since sumeru, so I need to grind some more. That being said, I've already got the fountain to level 10 and over 50% of the underwater sections done so far, plus I already got the 2 new characters to level 60 so I'm currently farming for their artifacts but hopefully I'll have time soonish.
@@keshang_laow8325 well i don't know if is worth to grind the best artifact and talents for the Hydro Traveler, the only thing that is worth on HMC is the pneuma application to stun some enemys, but since you have Liney there's no reason to grind for the hydro Traveler in my opinion, just use the dendro traveler. Seriously even anemo traveler is better.
Hydro traveler has the Freeza/ Piccolo kinda of skill, Gojo's Hollow purple Burst. Hoyoverse character design team has some culture members lol

I’m no meta enthusiast but I use hydro traveller with Lynette and raiden for overworld exploration. With raiden’s skill it can do a good amount of damage to regular enemies. Lynette is there for ousia, which makes fighting meka and doing puzzles easier.
Fun fact: With Hydro Traveler's introduction, Vourukasha's Glow is now the best Artifact set for both of the worst two characters in the game.
Edit: Actually nvm, turns out Vourukasha's Glow doesn't proc form Hydro MCs suffusion damage.

I have her and Lynette in my overworld team for Fontaine because I'm not going for Lyney, but as soon as I get Neuvillette or Furina she's going in the bin.
I just don't use Fontaine characters yet
Dehya's artifact set would be a lot better on HMC because it takes advantage of the hp drain and buffs skill and burst dmg.
(Update HMC's skill doesn't proc the set's effect, so it's actually not very good sadly.)
I tried it out. It'd work if you have Sac sword, as the skill damage doesn't go up while you're channeling it. But if you open with the skill for the buff you can increase your burst damage. Considering how energy hunger HMC is, sac sword might be the play.

With this kit of hydro MC and Fontaine giving more attention to normal attack, there is a high chance that Furina will be an on-field dps character instead of a support one like the previous archons.
I won't elaborate much for those who don't want to know yet, but her leaked kit does seem to support what you're saying, with an emphasis on DPS and some support capabilities. Her weapon will also supposedly add crit rate.

When you see that one of her constellation reduces the speed of her burst, you come to understand that hoyoverse knows her burst is shit and has to have a constellation to try and fix it. Constellation should be bonuses not fixes. But they always are fixes for 4 stars

I used Hydro MC on Team 2 Spiral Abyss 12 with the ever so reliable Hyperbloom team and it is really funny when he’s aggresively pointing at the downed ASIMON 😂
You can also use her as hyperbloom sniper with EM Ei and Nahida. No need for her personal damage, all she need to do is make her enemies wet

I think Hydro MC is lacking in battle but great for exploring and doing story quests with solo MC for the immersion of the story, because Hydro MC have a complete kit in one character imo
They can attack long range (sort of, using their skill), have puzzle solving ability (pneuma), & have shield and party heal (when full constellations)
Its nice to have a character that can do it all so i dont need to bother changing characters every now and then
That's basically how I feel about Dehya as well (for me personally, not justifying her or anything). It's nice to have a character you just permanently have in your team to do it all. The other 2 characters who are my "do-it-alls" are Kazuha and Zhongli. Zhongli provides both defense and shred, and Kazuha has exploration, grouping, and elemental sustain. They may not be the best character with the biggest number. But I can clear just about everything but 3* Floor 12 with them.
If only her/his ult will stop or drag any enemies that will get hit or if only it will stop when got frozen maybe just maybe she/he could be decent.

its clear that the MC was desinged for that one new artefact set, not just for a simple f2p 2pc glad and 2 pc hydro dmg combo, but the one that constantly buffs you whenever you lose health or gain health as you constantly lose health when you use your E and you gain health when you collect your created blue orbs from the E, plus with the constellations moves the Q slower, enabling it to hit more oftenly crowded targes, which is when you want to use it, when targets are crowded together, to hit them all as often as possible with a slower moving Q, especially with having placed up also support dps like Albedos Q for further mass aoe dmag
Play HMC, Kazuha, Yelan, Jean, should make for a good combo, with them you have 3 characters in party with crowd control abilities, by pulling them together, gap closing and launching targets, so that you can unlpeash the HMC Q when they are all close together, while kazuha provides additional good aoe damage, yelan additilnal good single target damage and energy support for MC and with jean you a good healer with team support

Personally, I think Hoyo has nailed something very important with Hydro Traveler's kit: it's a blast to use. When I first resonated with Hydro and hit e, I wasn't going "huh..." I was instead saying something along the lines of "HOLY-", it almost made me want to actually build the Traveler, but unfortunately I have like 2 hydro goblets on my whole account and they're both enough to cry about...
For sure. I love using traveler during story quests, region exploration etc. and the water saber skill is just cool; it's like Yusuke's spirit gun (I especially love aiming it then shooting quickly, without really waiting for the little dewdrops to come out). I know that Sumeru traveler was its most effective iteration, but I was disappointed by the Inazuma and Sumeru traveler concepts because they just didn't feel as cool and as fun as Mondstadt or Liyue traveler.

Usually traveller's playstyle is similar to archon of respect element. This time however, it seems the hydro traveler is more similar to Neuvillette playestyle than Furina.
The only similarity is that neuvilette has a continous laser gun

Hey there, If Any of you has C6 faruzan and does really like Hyro MC I Recommend him to be played in a Thunderstorm team with Hydro MC, faruzan C6, any electro off-field unit, and a Flex shielder is really dope. I tried Hydro MC with Fischl C6, altho MC skill doesn't count as consecutive attacks it still can work. The stagger from the skill of Hydro MC and the continuously grouping and swirl and CC without having to switch continuously is fun. I do recommend Layla for shield to make enemies stay in place by being freeze, swirls cc and electro charge.
HMC is really bad, but they're really fun! They're like Oz but Hydro, i personally run them with Nahida, EM Raiden, and Lynette. Sometimes i swap Lynette with Zhongli when i fight bosses.
I am sure hydro traveler will be better with constellations so I am building her rn. It’s So fun to play

I'm a Traveler, main and, well, i won't deny up until now, Dendro MC and Geo MC are still the best options to go for. But as i said until now, who knows what 4.1 and 4.2 etc has in store for us. The damage is not good but isn't totally bad either is just very average.
To me the 2 main things that kinda makes Hydro MC a bit unconfortable to use is, the 6 sec Hold of his Eskill his Constallation 6 (we don't have acces to it yet but will have in 4.1 most likely).
As for why i see these things only as a problem is, because channeling his Eskill for 6 sec is too long for a just average damage, and C6 could had been a good and usefull Constallation to go for if it was able to heal the WHOLE party instead of 1 character, i mean the healing from it isn't crazy either Hydro traveler won't replace a true healer if he were to heal the full scale party, i can't understand what was Hoyoverse idea behind it...
Solutions i could see (which will never happen probably) would be if Hoyoverse doubled the damage multiplier of the Dewdrops and reduced the 6 sec duration for a short 3 sec while of course adjusting the pneuse procs on it accordingly to fit these 3 secs everytime. The damage in numbers would remain the same, however, faster actions means in combat situations also a gain in dps thus then making is i guess good to use. As for C6, honestly Hoyoverse just need probably the press of 1 little button a keyboard to make it heal a full scale party with it, every source water heals for 6% HP of the party members it's healing sor it would be a nice 24% healing for everyone, it's not much but this would fit perfectly inside a Dehya party, or become usefull on Shielded teams against corrosion easely.

If this kit is a spoiler of how the archon kit will look like I would like her E to be, in pokemon therms, the good old 120 hydro pump compared with a water gun lol

I was getting bored of my main team so I decided to switch it up while exploring Fontaine. My team is Hydro Lumine / Nahida / Barbara / Kazuha right now. I didn’t fully build traveler do Nahida does all the damage but traveler does suprise me sometimes. I love her play style it’s so fun
Was really hoping that hydro Traveler might be as good as Dendro. It has a nice idea with the manual shooting dewdrops, but I feel it really could be better and it just isn't. Regardless, I'm still going to try and build her as the best dps I can because Traveler doesn't get nearly enough usage as I feel they should.
Trying Freeze, Nilou Bloom, Vaporize, and Annihilation teams (for Fontaine), and going to try my hand at a mono hydro team as well. ♡
lets not forget the Traveler's kit is a vague representation of the respective Arcon's so maybe some hints to pic apart. Maybe this is pure dps archon like how anemo traveler had that control tornado and electro had the ER ninja stars.
For traveler, I like to use the last nation's element against the new nation elements. Like start with anemo against geo area, geo against electro, electro against Sumeru area, denji against Fontaine, hydro against Natain and pyro in the last region.

I agree with your ending statements, that HMC probably serves as an experiment for abilities that require channeling to be used. More over, HMC's Constellations are clearly designed to help the player use the entire duration of HMC'S E.
But it doesn't excuse the fact that they gave them such a horrid burst with an equally insulting energy requirement of 80.
Should've just made the burst free with a 8 second cooldown. Since it's basically what Dendro/Electro/Geo MC calls their elemental skill.
Then again, it seems like they set out to design HMC with the idea that they should be an even shittier version of AMC, and it appears they've succeed spectacularly.
Hidro traveler wasn't designet for combat, it was designed to solve exploration hidro puzzles with is aiming skills. for combat we will continue use is dendro variant.
my current team for hydro MC is mc/nahida/raiden/layla as a sort of fridge/hyperbloom setup with MC as the point character, with sacrificial sword for the GREATLY increased uptime on skill (for more hydro applications via hold skill)
all 4 basically attack for free either as a rider on the MC's skill hits (nahida/raiden) or over time (layla), making for a rather comfy (if not super optimal) playstyle of turning genshin into a third-person shooter. rotation goes nahida skill-ult>raiden skill>layla skill-ult>MC ult-skill (hold), and just keep spamming the hold skill until you need to reapply buffs or ults.
raiden is built for EM (inazuma spear/4pc gilded) since she's intended to proc the superconducts, i'm considering having nahida use the prototype catalyst for some additional healing, since it's nonexistent on the team, and layla (favonius sword, 4pc milileth) cant exactly cover all the damage herself though her shield IS pretty beefy with HP investment.
I use Diona's shield and after that the normal hits cant stop you from using elemental skill but the cryo and bubble may stun you!
but but but she is the only one apart of fountain characters that can make a dolphin jump in water explorations ^^ super valuable ^^
Finally some evolution in genshin. Fo do long we only had 4 and 5 star characters. And now we have a one star character, fitting, given how in cannon they use a dull blade, a 1 star weapon.
The one thing I had in mind for HMC is "She might be a decent reaction driver on a team with a short rotation." And the example given with a Nilou Bloom team basically confirms this. HMC can deliver accurate hydro application downrange faster than any other character. Constellations gives her a built-in shield and she's an HP scaler, so she can take quite a few hits. This character is not utterly useless, you just need to get a bit creative.
Personally I just laugh every time I see that pea shooter of an elemental skill. It's probably the least satisfying skill to use in the entire game, in stark contrast with the Anemo MC elemental skill, which to this day is still one of the most satisfying skill to use in the entire game, even if it's not that effective.

I think its a troll. I half expect the Pyro traveller to have a "self destruct" ultimate that KILLS the traveller as an ultimate. But the damage is still less then Dilucs Phoenix.
Sucks too as I keep the traveller in my party for the entirety of my playing. She's the MC.
I mean really, imagine if the elemental skill allowed you to move while channeling, and the burst was a homing attack that followed enemies around? Might be A or B tier quality.
But that wasn't what they were going for.
They could have made the burst a bit better, here are my ideas tho:
a.burst follows the enemies
b.burst explodes after the duration dealing aoe hydro dmg
c.the bubble becomes a hydro shield and the 3 hydro thingies circling around it will act like xianglings butst

You need a shielder like zhongli too. Often travelor gets kicked off by enemies easily during this watergun.

Hydro MC is pretty horrible but I like using MC for world exploration for funsies. It feels more immersive when doing story quests too and I let all the other party members carry.
I have in fact thought of a utility, though it requires a final character to complete the build.
And it's about an off field Pyro DPS that doesn't focus in melee combat. If we get such a character in the future, Hydro traveller would actually be one of the best drivers for that character on a Fireworks team. Because then we could finally have a team that can in fact make use of Overload's knockback as a positive thing. Since overload would potentially allow Hydro Traveller's burst to hit more than 3-8 times. All we would need is Yae Miko/Fischl, H.Traveller, that new pyro character, and any kind of support. Honestly we really need a new off-field Pyro character, one that doesn't work only at melee range

Hydro MC's burst running away always has me laugh
Getting mad that I keep failing my Abyss runs, only to realize I never put Deepwood back on Lumine after messing around with Hydro artifacts during the Archon quest...
Holyyy, that whale MC skill hits the same as my ayaka burst and it hits 20 times too
That means that skill is hittin about 250- 300k
we definitely got a new channeling meta with neuvilette holyshit
I even forgot we got new element MC at new regions before this video shows up , I stopped using him for long time
Is the new set (Golden Troupe) better than 2 piece hydro 2 piece whatever else or am I delusional?
They can't use the last part of the 4 piece passive but still, 50% skill dmg sounds decent enough considering their burst is a joke lol
I'm not a theorycrafter or anything, just curious if it could be viable
