What’s sad is that EA/PopCap are _well aware_ of the fact that PvZ is still active, yet they’re not doing anything about it.
My heart stops when someone reminds me PvZ heroes and GW2 are dead 😢

@@taghreedali1948 that’s just how it is, I really don’t understand how popcap could mess up so bad to only update the new games after pvz2 for 1-2 years and then abandoning them.

Things like this almost always happen when a popular game stops getting updated and it’s always so good

Definitely feel, especially these days the fans care more about games than the devs 😊 And I yeah I get that @AzureWolf168, I think some big problems Popcap are facing is lack of staff and lack of funding 😢
@@RedheadGaming agreed, you can definitely see the difference from when popcap was much larger around 2016 to today just in terms of updates and how much new games we would get. It makes sense the fans care more, they’re passionate about the franchise and have been since they were kids. The devs meanwhile are likely newer to the franchise and they don’t have the same connection to it, along with that, popcap has tons of investors, shareholders and higher ups who likely expect a lot from them. I hope they can get out of this situation soon enough and be back to like they were in their prime, but it’ll likely take a few years.

Marighoul could be interesting as the Plants VS Zombies community that I liked. I wish will be add in Plants vs. Zombies 2.

At this point I think it would be better if popcap just let fans make a pvz game since well the fans would do better anyways.
As A Game Developer And Designer For A Really Crappy Game(That Has NO Connections With PvZ) I Kinda Want To Say That PvZ3 Can Be More On A Road Trip Game
(Like PvZ2 Where Wild West Was Supposed To Be Known As Farm Lands Or Something Like That)
Mainly If You Look At PvZ: You Realize You Protect Your House
And If You Look At PvZ2: You Realize You Protect Your Timeline
So It Only Makes Sense Making PvZ3 About Certain Areas Of The World Like A Farm Land Area And Maybe A Beach Or Even Frosty Mountains And Things Like That, A Road Trip Where Crazy Dave And You Save The World(I Can Make A Much More Indepth Lore)

would be great if someone made a type of game engine like fnf or M.U.G.E.N in which we can add our own plants, cusmomising their animations and powers only changing some settings

while official isn't getting better except for chinese and fans. the community are reviving the bloom and doom inc. we might be slowly making our own PVZ Games! i wish i could do that but i'm pretty much useless on UAE.
But still i won't give up!

Pvz3 should not exist in my opinion
The game direction of both versions of the game do not make me hopeful in popcap as a developer any more
I lost all that faith in that company after they added hundreds of Micro transactions and continued to pander to nostalgia
And Talkweb is even worse because none of their games for Pvz2 are quality assured
The community isn't going anywhere so why not just give up the code and remove hardcoding for these games OR actually give these people who care about the games jobs to work on then
Popcap is out of touch
They wouldn’t do that, you have to realize that this is a company that’s been huge in the past. Investors and highers up want popcap to be profitable again, they aren’t some small indie studio that’s just gonna give away their entire code for the fans. It just doesn’t happen. Pvz3 should exist, it’s just popcap has been taking a while to release it. I really don’t understand why since games like pvz2 and GW1 only took 3-4 years to finish while being much more enjoyable and fun, it could be just due to a smaller team but I doubt they would fumble this much.

They've already showed us their intentions and interests with the first two versions
Clash royale ripoff then a gardenscapes ripoff
They're not even trying to expand on their IP and everything involved within their unique world
They're trying to gain the most by doing the least
Heck they have released a new IP in decades they've constantly killed and closed down others
And being genuinely honest the drive and passion the original team had for these games are long gone since Dark Ages part 2
So genuinely going forward what does pvz3 existing bring forward
Does it change or innovate
Sure it may have a unique artstyle but that is secondary to the gameplay and currently with both versions the gameplay of each is the worst thing for the franchise
It has the same concept and plainly does not try to execute it in any meaningful way
Its trying to be what they turned Pvz2 into which is a game as a service
To explain that term they're trying to make that game fortnite with constant free content updates and tons of micro transactions
The issue is it's feasibly impossible to do that for a strategy game without a power gap or monetary incentive
They're allowed to do whatever they want but at the core of what the game and franchise is, it's ultimately the most disastrous thing I've observed since I started playing the first game
I'm not a purist in any sense I can appreciate it being different but what does being different achieve if anything
Why not use that different aim to expand on the already infinitely and more reputable game they own which is pvz2
Or let alone restructure their goals for a 3rd game
How does this game feasibly expand on the gameplay and individual fun of the plants or zombies
Literally everything they had from the first version which was 3d was way better than what they gave in the second version
Obviously they put more effort into the first than the second so you can obviously notice the rushed and haphazardly made levels and gimmicks
Heck all the first version needed to do was fix the gameplay and leveling and it could have just been pvz3
Visuals aside that version had so much more to offer than the 2nd iteration and truly more ambition
Both were bad and poorly made but change for the sake of change with no improvements or innovation was what held that game back
I mean pvz3 v1 had the taco abilities which albeit really lame they had something new
That aside what we have to aknowledge is that pvz3 genuinely cannot exist in its current state without restructurimg popcap and it being so out of touch with the community it's trying to make a profit from
They need to please their audience to expect profits
Some people will love the spinoffs and enjoy them but main games suffer so much from lack of transparency and genuine effort on popcaps end
I don't know how they destroyed themselves so much to lose so much community trust and not think that what they're creating is not what people want
I mean if you enjoy pvz3 that's fine but it doesn't need to exist because every iteration they make is not it having it's own identity they're ripping off the concept of another title
I mean sure a level smasher pvz game would be dope (candy crush) but that's not pvz3 then
Make something else with your current assets and redevelop a good pvz3 game that does the franchise justice
They're continuing to update pvz2 without signs of stopping for a reason everyone loves pvz2
Why not just expand on that or just take inspiration from it and create something improved
Sequels always suffer from the trilogy cliche of the 2nd being the most ambitious and the 3rd being safe or badly written and downgraded
That's what we got and it was quite a spit in the face for the fans who just wanted a simple tower defense game
They could have kept leveling if they wanted but they just changed so Much for no reason
Like who the hell plays Pvz vertical
And Pvz3 v2 looks like the Chinese version with the loads of power ups and purchases that take away from the game
At least they at its core have the gameplay done right
When pvz3 works it's fun but that's about it
Everything else is a downgrade not even from pvz2 but from Pvz3 v1
Its obvious the devs are going to end up defunct someday due to complacency but we can appreciate what we have already
Sadly though the issue with Pvz as a franchise is impossible to blame on EA like everyone does because they just fund and direct the game to aim for profits
But the way popcap handled their own IP is terrible
I mean let's be truthful nobody expected them to expand the adventure levels but they did then removed them for arena
Who's to say they can't just print money by expanding the 2nd game and using that time to properly make a 3rd installment
Whatever anyone says to me pvz3 gameplay wise and just existential wise is flawed and has no reason to exist as it is
It 100% has to follow its identity otherwise why is it even a pvz game
