She’s bringing the funny and she’s bringing a message - that it's never too late for your dream to come true! Since her last time on the show Leanne's been on the Forbes’ 50 Over 50 list, she released a Netflix special, and she’s starring alongside Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell in a new movie.
Leanne shares how she stuck with her comedy career even when it was incredibly hard, how hiring a social media team she couldn’t afford skyrocketed her fame, and she even tells me her hilarious backup plan. Leanne's inspirational story will remind you that timing is unpredictable and that your calling will manifest itself in unexpected ways. After discovering her passion for stand-up comedy later in life and finding the time and confidence to pursue her dream, Leanne Morgan has cemented herself as a must-watch comedian.
Leanne was feeling the lure of Hollywood after graduating high school, yet the idea of moving there was unheard of and too daunting for a country girl who had never been away from home. She enrolled in college at The University of Tennessee, where she graduated (by the skin of her teeth) with a degree in Child and Family Studies.
Shortly after, she married her husband, Chuck, and they moved to Bean Station, Tennessee located in the beautiful foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.
To stay busy after having her first baby, Morgan started selling jewelry at home parties. She was supposed to talk about the jewelry but instead conversed about breastfeeding, hemorrhoids and being a mama. The party guests thought that she was hilarious, and before she knew it, she was booked a year in-advance.
The jewelry company saw what was happening and asked her to speak at their sales rallies. It was there that women started saying, “you need to do stand-up!” That gave Morgan the courage to really go for it! She finally had access to comedy clubs when her family moved to San Antonio in 2001, and her career in comedy quickly officially got underway.
Morgan’s comedy has landed her at the prestigious Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal and has brought her development deals for her own sitcom with ABC and Warner Brothers, writer/producer Matt Williams (Rosanne and Home Improvement), TV Land and with Sony Television.
Morgan has garnered over 2.5M followers across social media and her popular online stand-up special, So Yummy, has reached over 50M views on UA-cam. Her fan base continues to grow with her relatability as she discusses everything from being a housewife, sharing Jell-O recipes to having a new grandbaby. Morgan has appeared on The Kelly Clarkson Show, The View, and Nick at Nite’s Funniest Mom.
Now that her children are grown, Morgan is moving full steam ahead with a career rooted in her everyday comedy. In December 2022, she concluded The Big Panty Tour with Outback Presents which spanned 100+ shows in theaters across the U.S. She also taped her first Netflix standup special which premieres on the platform on April 11, 2023. Morgan is back on the road with her next 100+ show Just Getting Started theater and arena tour with Outback Presents. Her first book, What in the World?, is set to be published by Random House/Convergent, in August 2024.
When not on the road, Leanne cherishes spending time in Knoxville, Tennessee with her husband, three children, grandbaby, and two beagles.

Oh my goodness!!! I stumbled upon Leanne Morgan’s Mean, Mean Daughter segment around a year ago and laughed until I cried. About a month ago her DryBar special was recommended on UA-cam and I fell in love all over again. Then I came across her Netflix special, which was chef’s kiss! I’m hoping to catch her live in New Orleans or Pensacola soon. ❤

I absolutely love love loved this interview! Leanne we women of a certain age need to shed the chains and stigma that has held us back and break that glass ceiling. Show the world that life has been an adventure all along and sharing it with comedy glasses on and seeing the brighter side even when it hurt to. To let people know God is good, and generous but dang it all you have to be patient and wait your turn for Him to give you his blessings. Faith will sustain and feed your soul and give you the strength you need to sssshhhh...be quiet...listen for His words and they will become his actions and blessings. LOVED this video! Love, love, loved it! And I’m as southern as grits with red eye gravy. BUT I, nor my mother or either of my grandmothers or great grandmothers - because I’m so very fortunate enough to know them all, EVER put sweet relish in egg salad. Not in deviled eggs either! They called that “citified”. And by citified they meant only the rich people could afford to buy sweet relish to put an egg salad or deviled eggs and We lived out in the country where they were only farmers and none of them were rich, they were all in the city. So we did not make citified egg salad or deviled eggs. The only thing we put sweet relish in was potato salad on Sundays and when we had to take some to a church potluck dinner. And we could make that little jar of sweet relish last almost as long as the oil lasted in Jerusalem. I kid you not! Can’t wait to watch another video! Thank you! ❤❤
