maybe it's to help convince that the songs are in a child's perspective, which is a lot of his songs, but idk personally these things just feel more child-like to me
this MV's visuals are actually artistic genius, and not just random creepy images drawn to unsettle the viewer. for example: 2:59 starts showing a lot of imagery that has to relate with "possession," as our subject truly believes that their lover's soul has entered their body. a distraught face, being carried by arms that are inside it's eyes. the lover knows that the subject is troubled and tries to keep them afloat through romance and emotional support. this is also a possible allusion to "being inside someone." you know what that means. 3:06 starts showing what seems to be our two characters. one in clear pain and the other trying to comfort them. it's cute, and scary at the same time. i'd love to see more in-depth analysis on these visuals, i believe there's a meaning behind all of them.
Also in the second half of the song the only thing being broken is the figure of a girl, probably representing more overtly how she's breaking her soul through her things.
Also in the minute 2:45 if you put velocity x0.25 you could see a figure being stabbed by multiples knives in the left bottom, and a hiragana「おとうさん」which if I'm not wrong means "Father". Maybe that means that the boy (protagonist) hated his father, or maybe was abused by him and that's the reason why likes people in pain. And in the same minute, you can see a boy's face with a angry or disgusting expression, and drawings of a figure stabbing a other person and a mouth eating a human.
This song hurts. It's the only kikuo song that emotionally hurt me. I think it's because I've always had something "special" I've carried around with me, and having it broken was always my worst fear.

Why do some people think this is about a serial killer? The singer is hurting others by destroying things that are important to them, wether it be toys or family heirlooms. The singer is inflicting psychological pain to others. Not physical pain like murder.

I've always thought about this song and what it could be representing. And heres what I thought of. The child in the song (Miku I guess?) started out their life loving breaking things. As Miku got older, she began breaking more "valuable items". This went so far she began trapping girls in toxic/abusive relationships and breaking their trust/heart. When she talks about "Break it, Repair it" she acts/tries to change, only to repeat the same thing. But, one girl still loves her and won't get herself out of the relationship. Miku then starts saying to leave her because "I still won't be able to say sorry". She begins realizing all the pain she's caused and tries to let this one girl out of the relationship. But thats just a theory A KIKUO THEORY
When the murder was young. He just like to destroy other’s precious things. As much as he grew up, the things he destroyed be more value. And when he know about love between people. He destroyed (kill) them too. But...there was one person who loves him and also him. But he wants to destroy it so he kills himself. Maybe also her because she is what precious to him.
This is the most extreme case of schadenfreude I have ever seen. Also I really like... the whole song, but specifically one line: "Still you followed along. you love me. I love you, who also loves (me)." There is something about the delivery, and I mean the visual delivery, that is just telling. From the way the words pop up, chaotic and scattered, you can _feel_ the confusion of the person at the realisation that the one they keep hurting over and over again considers them valuable - and what it means for them. The 'me' doesn't even pop up in the last line - they couldn't even finish the thought. It's just a whole bunch of 'love' being repeated as if they just couldn't get over it. God I love it.
when I draw I always listen to music, but when Kikuo's songs appear, I always get stuck admiring the sounds, and finally I don't draw anything hahaha my admiration for his music is too great
i think... at the end, the character in the song has become so obsessed with breaking things, he not only breaks the soul of the girl by abusing her, he also breaks what she cherishes (him), so he takes his own life in the end, if only to hurt her. thats just my thought, though. what a jerk!
My interpretation is that the character is already obsessed with destroying precious things from the beginning. He then finds someone precious to him and proceeds to treat her the only way he knows how - to break her. However, whatever he does, the girl still loves her and now, he decides that the worst thing to do to her is not to break her but to break himself.
He did mention something about saying sorry, so I don't think he's that much of a jerk. Or at least, not at the end. I like to interpret his initial actions of breaking precious things as act of his inability to love (he doesn't understand why people react like they do when their precious things get broken). So when he finally finds someone he loves, and loves him back, this disorients him and causes him to feel guilty and end his life with the excuse of "breaking something precious to her".
Ok my theory. It’s really short. So this person; (let’s call them bob because why the fuck not) bob enjoys breaking valuable things that this specific person cherishes. He has been doing this for a very, very long time, since he was a baby. It was mainly to get a reaction and attention out of this person, and it was very small things like toys. but soon it became worse. WAY worse. Bob started to kill others that this person loves for attention bob craves. It completely breaks the psych of this person, and begins isolating themselves, staying away from people they care about, not talking/interacting with others ect to stop more murders. Bob, however, does not like this. He starts murdering others important to them for no reason. At this point, this person is absolutely done. He want to stop bob, personally and permanently. However, they know that they can’t, because bob has been murdering people for a while now, and has gained some strength. This person decides to instead trick bob into commenting suicide. They “confess” their to “love” to bob, and bob believes it. Bob commits suicide because he thinks that he is the most important thing in their life. He “breaks” himself. Edit, as of 5/27/2021, 1:52 pm: I realize there’s a lot of theories with the same idea, a lot of them being older than this one, probably since this song is a lot less vague than other kikuo songs. Keep in mind that this theory isn’t 100% original.
What if it's just talking about a toxic relationship , where they both love each other yet the other person likes watching them crumble and make them sad and then give them hope again and just do that over and over because the other person is so in love with them that no matter what they can't let go
you could say that. Most people interpret the song as the story of an emotionally abusive person ruining their victims one by one by destroying the items they value the most, except their last victim loves them despite that. And the person, as the only “thing” their victim loves at this point since everything else they loved they've already broken, end up committing suicide, partly to hurt their victim even more, partly because they loved them too.
I feel like instead of obbsesion its about a toxic person. Breaking the person, pushing them to the limit, their sense of a healthy relationship, and the person forgives the toxic one, only to be broken again and again.
Given the frantic visuals, whimsical melody/harmonies, the implementation of Vocaloid, and the direct lyrics (e.g. 1:41-2:29), I speculate this song is about an artist afflicted with a destructive self-consciousness, voiced and personified by Hatsune Miku, about his talent. These doubts steal/break his creativity and obstruct the inspiration he draws from observing the world. Eventually, his relationship with his negative inner voice becomes more important than his work or desire to work, and he finally just quits altogether. It's a different angle from others' interpretation of a serial killer or emotionally abusive relationship, but that's my take from watching the video and reading the captions.

I've always thought about this song and what it could be representing. And heres what I thought of.
The child in the song (Miku I guess?) started out their life loving breaking things. As Miku got older, she began breaking more "valuable items". This went so far she began trapping girls in toxic/abusive relationships and breaking their trust/heart. When she talks about "Break it, Repair it" she acts/tries to change, only to repeat the same thing. But, one girl still loves her and won't get herself out of the relationship. Miku then starts saying to leave her because "I still won't be able to say sorry". She begins realizing all the pain she's caused and tries to let this one girl out of the relationship.
But thats just a theory

This is the most extreme case of schadenfreude I have ever seen.
Also I really like... the whole song, but specifically one line:
"Still

There is something about the delivery, and I mean the visual delivery, that is just telling. From the way the words pop up, chaotic and scattered, you can _feel_ the confusion of the person at the realisation that the one they keep hurting over and over again considers them valuable - and what it means for them. The 'me' doesn't even pop up in the last line - they couldn't even finish the thought. It's just a whole bunch of 'love' being repeated as if they just couldn't get over it. God I love it.

i think... at the end, the character in the song has become so obsessed with breaking things, he not only breaks the soul of the girl by abusing her, he also breaks what she cherishes (him), so he takes his own life in the end, if only to hurt her.

My interpretation is that the character is already obsessed with destroying precious things from the beginning.
He then finds someone precious to him and proceeds to treat her the only way he knows how - to break her.
However, whatever he does, the girl still loves her and now, he decides that the worst thing to do to her is not to break her but to break himself.
He did mention something about saying sorry, so I don't think he's that much of a jerk. Or at least, not at the end.
I like to interpret his initial actions of breaking precious things as act of his inability to love (he doesn't understand why people react like they do when their precious things get broken). So when he finally finds someone he loves, and loves him back, this disorients him and causes him to feel guilty and end his life with the excuse of "breaking something precious to her".
Actually, it's a song about a serial killer who kills people to make others sad. So basically, he kills himself and the girl he loved in the end

Ok my theory. It’s really short.
So this person; (let’s call them bob because why the fuck not) bob enjoys breaking valuable things that this specific person cherishes. He has been doing this for a very, very long time, since he was a baby. It was mainly to get a reaction and attention out of this person, and it was very small things like toys. but soon it became worse. WAY worse. Bob started to kill others that this person loves for attention bob craves. It completely breaks the psych of this person, and begins isolating themselves, staying away from people they care about, not talking/interacting with others ect to stop more murders. Bob, however, does not like this. He starts murdering others important to them for no reason. At this point, this person is absolutely done. He want to stop bob, personally and permanently. However, they know that they can’t, because bob has been murdering people for a while now, and has gained some strength. This person decides to instead trick bob into commenting suicide. They “confess” their to “love” to bob, and bob believes it. Bob commits suicide because he thinks that he is the most important thing in their life. He “breaks” himself.

I feel like instead of obbsesion its about a toxic person.
Breaking the person, pushing them to the limit, their sense of a healthy relationship, and the person forgives the toxic one, only to be broken again and again.
